“Onii-chan, starting from today, Shiori-chan will be staying at our house for a while! Take care of her!”

　It was one day in the middle of summer vacation.

　I finished my part-time job and came home, standing at the front door in a daze. It was already past nine o’clock in the evening.

　I was puzzled by my little sister’s remark that she had unusually come to the door to pick me up. First of all, let’s get our heads straight.

　Shiori-chan is a friend of Yuzu’s, I believe.

　I remember her because she comes to our house quite often. She’s a cute girl who greets me whenever we pass each other.

“Is it okay if she stays for a while? There’s the stuff about her change of clothes and all that.”

“Don’t worry. Shiori-chan said she ran away from home after a fight with her mother. So she wants to stay with us for a while.”

“Freeloader… So that’s how it is.”

“Yeah. Well then, once again, take care of her, Onii-chan.”

“Oh, okay.”

　It’s not a compliment to encourage people to run away from their home, but it seemed like it was already a done deal to let her stay at our house.

　I’m sure she won’t listen to anything I have to say now.

　After shaking her head, Yuzu walked lightly back to her room.

　It wasn’t until the next day that I realized that I had misunderstood the meaning of Yuzu’s greeting.
