The news outlets were all focusing on the battle at the abandoned factory. No one knew who was behind it, but what was known was that more than a thousand people had lost their lives in the battle. 

According to the police officers, who had been present at the scene, corpses were lying in piles, having died from various causes, ranging from explosives to gunshots. 

While the ordinary citizens were full of fear about what might happen to them, the Police Chief went forward to say that they should not fear. 

He also informed everyone that it was a showdown between two international criminal syndicates, and that they had left the country after finishing their battle. 

While many still felt worried, the initial panic vanished, and they relaxed again. The crime syndicates did not usually go against commoners; they stayed in the abyss.

During all this chaos, Lu Nanfeng was once again busy at work. His corporation was involved in every aspect of the business world, and thus the battle had caused some fluctuations. 

But he did not regret what had happened. Even if they had a severe drop in stocks, he would still go against the Organization, even more so when it was nothing else than a small fluctuation.

He Lixue did not go to work with Lu Nanfeng in the first week. She was at home, relaxing and readjusting her mind. 

She was no longer the He Lixue who crawled out of the abyss. She was now the princess He Lixue who had no connection to her previous life.

She wanted to close the door on her past, and she was not willing to let it continue taking space in her life. 

Now she was going to stay with Lu Nanfeng, and the future was all that mattered to her.

Lu Nanfeng could guess what she was thinking about, and realized that she was slowly letting go of her past to live solely for her future with him.

After finishing a full day of work, Lu Nanfeng pressed open the door and saw He Lixue bustling around in the kitchen, cooking some food for dinner. 

It had been a long time since Lu Nanfeng had last tasted her cooking, and he was suddenly feeling excited. Maybe she was not the best chef around, but she could cook to Lu Nanfeng's palate, and he truly enjoyed eating the food she made.

He Lixue had heard the door open, and the smile on her lips made her eyes sparkle with excitement. 

She looked forward to seeing Lu Nanfeng's expression when he saw the food she had cooked for him. 

"Go take a bath," she called out through the open door. "Change your clothes and come to eat when you are done!"

Lu Nanfeng once again felt as if he was returning home to his newlywed wife. While He Lixue still had the apartment that he had prepared for her, he had no intention of letting her return to it. Living together was much better than living apart.

Not to mention, he could sleep with her in his arms every night, hugging her, and feeling comfortable with her in his arms. 

He Lixue cooked seven dishes and a soup. She did not originally plan on cooking that much, but when she began, she could not stop again; it felt ther.a.p.eutic and enjoyable to cook, especially since she knew that Lu Nanfeng liked her food. 

After bathing, Lu Nanfeng came to eat the meal, and his eyes shone with happiness as he saw how He Lixue kept bringing plate after plate onto the table, along with two bowls of rice and two pairs of chopsticks. 

"Are you planning on coming back to work tomorrow?" Lu Nanfeng asked, and He Lixue paused for a bit. 

"When does the university year start?" she asked, and Lu Nanfeng had to think for a moment. "There is a month left until the entrance examinations."

"I need to attend the Imperial University," she said, "so I don't know if it will be a good idea to attend work or just take a break from it."

Lu Nanfeng did not need to think much before he nodded his head, "I agree," he said, "don't return to work, just relax and unwind before it is time for you to begin university."

He Lixue smiled happily, stood up, went to his side, hugged his neck tightly, and placed a kiss on his chin.

"Thank you, dearest," she said. Her actions caused Lu Nanfeng to feel comfortable, and he placed his arms around her waist, dragging her into his embrace before he leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers. 

The kiss was both urgent but also lingering. So many emotions were contained within their entangled breath, their lips rubbing against each other, their tongues entwined, and their hearts were beating rapidly.

The kiss grew uncontrollable. Their hands, which had previously been wrapped around the other's waist and neck, slowly began moving up and down, searching for b.a.r.e skin to c.a.r.e.s.s. 

A ball of flame had ignited in their hearts, their actions turned more and more urgent, their touch more and more gentle and lingering, and it was clear that they wanted more. 

Although his actions seemed rough, He Lixue felt no pain as the bed was soft, but her body bounced a few times, before Lu Nanfeng pressed down on her, once more blocking her lips with his own as he felt his own impatience and d.e.s.i.r.e beginning to overtake him.
