Chapter 172 Jenny’s Peeping

 Second floor, on the balcony.

Rhaenyra leaned on the fence, watching the joust in the back garden.

“Rhaegar still loves to play so much.”

“Very brave and extraordinary in skill.”

Beside her, Janey commented objectively.

Rhaenyra turned her head, caught a glimpse of the light in Janie's eyes, and smiled: "Are you going to hang out with Janice all the time?"

“She and I are friends, we comfort each other’s souls.”

Jenny spoke in a light tone.

The voice changed and he asked: "Do you plan to follow the Targaryen family tradition?"

Rhaenyra understood what she was referring to and smiled: "Rhaegar will fight for it."

"bless you!"

Jenny lowered her eyes and picked up a glass of red wine.

Rhaenyra always felt that her words were insincere.

Looking closely at the changes in Jenny's expression, trying to find something out of it.

Jenny turned her head and looked at Rhaegar with flying silver hair, her eyes full of envy.

 “Jenny.”

Rhaenyra called out.

 Jenny looked over.

 “Have you ever farmed?”

 “That’s the farmer’s job.”

Rhaenyra meant something: "Yeah, I haven't farmed before, but I have seen the farming process of the farmers in the king's territory."

Jenny was confused and her eyes were confused.

Rhaenyra continued: "Farmers plant seeds in the spring, tend them diligently, water and loosen the soil, and harvest food in the fall."

Under Jeyne’s increasingly confused gaze, Rhaenyra became serious:

“I have been by Rhaegar’s side from the moment he was born, and I have been present in every moment of his life.”

“Now that he has grown up, it is time for me to reap the harvest.”

Picking up the wine glass on the table, Rhaenyra collided with Jeyne's wine glass.

A crisp buzz echoed. Rhaenyra drank it all in one gulp, picked up Rhaegar's clothes, and strode away.

She suddenly discovered that her only remaining friend was not pure in heart.

 This made her wary.

                                                         ——

A breeze blew through her hair, and Janey woke up from a dream.

The blank expression disappeared and was replaced by a domineering one.

Rhaenyra was invisible behind the bead curtain, and Jeyne looked at the blue sky and white clouds in the bright sun.

Spring has passed, the air is slightly hot, and I say to myself: "Rhaenyra, it is summer now!"

 …

 Back garden, competition ground.

No one competed with Lei Jia again, and the atmosphere was frozen for a while.

Jero asked Leya, but the newlywed wife fell into memories and remained silent for a long time.

After thinking about it, Jero sighed, he had to solve it himself.

“Prince, your swordsmanship is unparalleled, I would like to ask you for advice!”

Zero drew his sword and walked towards Rhaegar in the middle of the grass.

Rhaegar smiled when he heard this: "Jero, you are the groom today, are you going to end up too?"

“It’s rare to see swordsmanship like yours. I want to give it a try.”

Jero held the sword with both hands and his eyes were firm.

He really wanted to test the prince's strength.

It's like trying to give Damon a try.

 “Very good, come on then.”

Lega fulfilled his persistence, not to mention that the competition was about to end, which was just the right time for things to go smoothly.

Georori rushed forward, and the sword waving moved with the unique wildness of the valley knight.

                                     ——

The dragon's claws rose up, and the two sword blades collided, causing little sparks to appear.

Rhaegar reversed his steps and slid the dragon's claws against the opponent's sword blade towards the sword.

                                     ——

Watching several scenes in a row, Jero clearly understood the prince's sharp sword, quickly retracted the sword blade, and slashed again.

His movements were fast, his young and vigorous body was full of strength, and his two-handed sword made a soft sound.

Rega took two steps back, selling a flaw, and raised his sword to resist the heavy blow.

Seeing the prince's chest exposed, Jero's eyes lit up. He lowered his sword with his upper body and raised his leg to kick.

However, as soon as he lifted his right leg, he saw Rhaegar showing a triumphant smile.     "Fell into the trap."

Jero was startled and realized something was wrong.

Rhaegar changed his steps and turned his body sideways, exposing his opponent's sword and right leg at the same time.

Without hesitation, the dragon's claws glowed with cold light and struck down with a sword.

                                     ——

The dragon's claw struck the opponent's long sword, and the two swords were facing each other.

The Valyrian steel material was superior, and the opponent's two-handed sword broke with a sound.

With a mournful cry, half of the broken sword flew out and fell on the grass.

The hearts of everyone present seemed to tremble following the broken sword.

Jero held the broken sword, cold sweat dripping from his forehead.

The sword just cut off his long sword.

If placed on the battlefield, his legs would be cut off.

Looking at Rhaegar, who was smiling apologetically, Jero twitched the corners of his mouth, and his smile was uglier than crying.

The loss was really clean and tidy.

“Lord Jero, I accept the assignment.”

Rhaegar sheathed the dragon's claw and stretched out a hand.

 “Your swordsmanship is really outstanding!”

Jero discarded the broken sword and held the prince's palm firmly.

Looking around at the stunned guests, Jero suddenly laughed loudly, raised their hands high, and said loudly: "My lords, do you accept such a crown prince?"

quiet!

The nobles in the valley looked left and right, with different expressions.

The scene was deserted for a moment, and Rhaegar narrowed his eyes and looked at it secretly.

“Damn, what a fast swordsmanship, whoever dares to disobey, I will be the first to spare him!”

Someone in the crowd made a sound, accompanied by laughter.

 The next second.

Everyone started laughing, beating their chests, banging the hilts of their swords at their waists, and shouting randomly.

“Long live the Targaryens! Long live the Crown Prince!…”

   …”

Rhaegar held the dragon's claw in one hand and raised the other above his head.

The originally calm face melted away like ice, blooming with a flame-like brilliance, and also melted into laughter.

Valley people follow tradition and respect the strong.

In this regard, only the northerners in the cold winter land are similar.

Rhaegar's swordsmanship convinced them, and they were willing to offer praise and loyalty.

With Jero's mediation, the competition came to an end.

The guests gathered around Rhaegar and returned to the castle singing loudly, intending to celebrate the wonderful contest with alcohol.

 …

 Night.

Rhaegar lay in Rhaenyra's arms, a note in his hand.

“Jenny is going to say goodbye tomorrow, shall we follow her?”

Rhaenyra stroked his hair.

“A letter from Ilic, the Gaoshan clan’s movements in the Mingyue Mountains are unknown.”

Rhaegar enjoyed the soft touch and closed his eyes and said: "The battle situation in the Longbow Hall is also sluggish. Jobert is seriously injured. The Alpine Clan is likely to make big moves."

“Will the Gaoshan Clan launch a massive attack?”

Rhaenyra said softly.

“I don’t know. Escort Jenny back to the Eagle’s Nest City first. If the Alpine clan dares to appear in large numbers, the gluttons will burn them all.”

Rhaegar threw away the note, saying it indifferently.

The Gaoshan clan is nothing more than a group of savages. They are difficult to deal with when they wander, but they are weak when they are in a group.

“That’s good, Ilic’s letter said that he has led troops out of the Blood Gate to meet us.”

Rhaenyra thought about the contents of the letter.

Has already won over allies in Seagull Town, and the trip to the valley is mostly completed.

King's Landing and the Stepstones still need their return.

 “Go to sleep, no touching!”

Tapping Rhaegar on the head, Rhaenyra grabbed his paw.

 “Hmm~”

Rhaegar arched his head in dissatisfaction and buried his face into the softness.

Rhaenyra laughed angrily, grabbed his neck, and rubbed hard.

Like a little pig, he can’t eat enough!
