Feng Ji Chuan paused for a few seconds. The bitterness on his face was beyond description.

Before, he thought Jiang Yuning was dull, but it turned out that he was the dull one.

“I wish her happiness,” he murmured. “After all, a forced relationship will not end well. He understands. He had lost her, and that could not be changed.”

…

By the time Nian Xi got home, Jiang Yuning was already standing at her door with the white robot.

“Xi…” The two of them hadn’t seen each other for a few days. Seeing her running happily, Jiang Yuning hurriedly spread his arms.

“It’s so cute!” Nian Xi brushed across him and hugged the robot.

Jiang Yuning’s arms froze in the air for a short while. He silently dropped his arms, then looked at Nian Xi. Seeing how much she liked the robot, he felt a little jealous, but also a little sweet.

From now on, Nian Xi had not only Jiang-jiang but also a robot to enjoy.

“This robot is so exquisite, and it’s so cute.” Nian Xi fondled the robot admiringly. “I’ve never seen such a beautiful robot. Can it really make food?”

“Let’s try it out.” Jiang Yuning smiled, then pressed a button on the robot’s chest. The robot walked toward Nian Xi.

Jiang-jiang came over, barked, then wanted to jump on the robot, but lacked the courage to do it.

“Your name will be Big Jiang-jiang,” Nian Xi said to the robot with a grin. “Yuning, what do you think?”

“What Jiang-jiang am I then?” Jiang Yuning said with a muffled voice.

“You’re my Ning-ning.” Nian Xi held his face and gave him a big kiss. “You’re amazing.”

Jiang Yuning smiled. He carefully taught Nian Xi how to use the robot. All she needed to do was to download an app and then control the robot on her phone.

Nian Xi browsed the introduction, then gasped in surprise. “He can even pour me tea, and make desserts? This says he can cook all kinds of food, and that I only need to prepare the materials. Is it really so capable?”

“I didn’t know it was so functional.” Jiang Yuning paused briefly, then said, “I guess my friend has improved it. Impressive.”

“I want to meet this friend of yours.” Nian Xi recalled what Fang Qi asked her to do. “Is this friend of yours a boy or a girl?”

“A girl,” Jiang Yuning said.

That answer was unexpected to Nian Xi, as she thought his friend was a boy. She didn’t know Jiang Yuning had any female friends. For some reason, she instantly felt a little uncomfortable. “Didn’t you say that I’m your only female friend? It turns out you have other female friends. Liar.”

Jiang Yuning was confused. He had no idea why she was suddenly unhappy. “I didn’t lie to you. She’s my science friend. I call her my friend because we often talk about science projects. We don’t talk about anything else. You’re my only female friend whom I don’t talk about science with. Now you’re my girlfriend. And… I guess I never wanted to be friends with you.”

“I know. You wanted to be my boyfriend, right?” Nian Xi poked his chest and said, “You little wicked boy.”

“I’m not wicked.” Jiang Yuning shook his head.

“Tell me about this girl scientist.” Nian Xi smiled. “How old is she? Is she married? Does she have a boyfriend? What does she look like? Is she nice? How’s her body shape?”

“Why do you want to know so much about her?” Jiang Yuning didn’t understand.

“Fang Qi is single,” said Nian Xi. “He wants me to introduce him to a girl.”
