Dumbledore : "How is that possible? I researched very hard and read every book I can find regarding this, but found no solution."

Me : "That's the thing, Albus. As I said, you don't specialize in this area but I do. Don't forget I am a master in 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' subject, as such to counter Dark Arts, I have read many books about Dark magic spells and rituals, including Horcrux."

Here, McGonagall asked,

McGonagall : "What's Horcrux?"

Me : "A Horcrux is a ritual made by Herpo the Foul, a despicable wizard more than a thousand years ago. Using this ritual, one can tear apart a piece of their soul and have it house in an object. Herpo the Foul made this ritual in order to gain immortality, As the user can't die unless their Horcrux is destroyed. But make no mistake, it's very dark magic which only a madman will use since it requires tearing apart their own soul."

Harry : "Wait! It sounds a lot like the Voldemort's diary I encountered in my second year which held his shade and even possessed a student. Does it mean that it was a Horcrux?"

Me : "Possibly. But since Voldemort survived the deflected killing curse, it might be possible that he made a Horcrux prior to that."

McGonagall : "Is that true Albus? Is this what happened to Miss Weasley? Was she possessed by the Dark Lord's Horcrux?"

McGonagall : "And you didn't think to tell me the truth? I am deputy Headmistress of this school Albus, I have the right to know what happens here. You should have told me the truth. How am I supposed to trust you when you won't even tell me the truth, especially when it's directly related to the safety of the students?"

Dumbledore : "*sigh* You need to understand Minerva, I only did it for the greater good."

McGonagall : " Greater good? You are the Headmaster of this school, Albus! No matter what the reason is, you don't play with students lives. I am very disappointed in you Albus, I never expected you of all people to risk student's lives."

Seeing that it was not going so well with McGonagall, Dumbledore changed the topic back to Horcruxes.

Dumbledore : "Since you know what a Horcrux is, you must know that the only way to destroy a Horcrux is to destroy the object completely. Since Harry is also a Horcrux, I don't see a way to destroy the soul shard without killing Harry."

Me : "Who said Harry is a Horcrux? To make a Horcrux, an object must be prepared beforehand to house the piece of soul. But, due to getting hit by the killing curse deflected by Harry, I assume that Voldemort's already fractured soul tore apart a piece of his soul and it stuck to the only living being present in that room, Harry. And as Harry was already wounded in the forehead due to deflecting the killing curse, that soul shard found a way inside the wound and got stuck in it. As such, Harry is not a Horcrux, despite him having Voldemort's soul piece in his forehead. So, I only need to isolate the soul shard and destroy it, which can be accomplished easily by my recently made custom spell."

Harry : "You mean I am not a Horcrux?"

Me : "Yes Harry, you are not a Horcrux and you will be fine after I destroy the piece of soul in your forward. In fact, I expect that even your scar will be healed after that."

Harry looked visibly relieved and his shoulders sagged a bit on hearing this. But McGonagall was clearly not happy with Dumbledore if her face was any indication.

Dumbledore: "No, I assure you, Minerva, that's everything."

Wow, Dumbledore didn't even blink while saying that. What about the Prophecy? He really should have come clean now because now. When Harry and McGonagall find out about it, he is going to lose their trust completely, that is if there is any left to lose. Well, his loss, my gain. The more he loses their trust, easier for me to replace him.

But I am not quite done fanning McGonagall's and Harry's flame of mistrust towards Dumbledore just yet. I have one more card to play.

Me : "Alright then. I think it would be best to start healing Mr. Potter as soon as possible. But the question is, How come Madam Pomphrey didn't pick up on Harry's condition? I mean, from I understand he has been to infirmary quite often since he started attending Hogwarts and even basic diagnostic charms should have picked up some of it."

Given Madam Pomphrey's personality, the only way to stop her from healing or even notifying others about Harry's condition is for Dumbledore to use his position as Harry's magical guardian to stop her or for him to outright obliviate her. Either way, Let's see you explain this one, Dumbledore.
