Chapter 116 Fertilizer

The fertilizer production base that was previously cooperating with Donghua Group in the name of the Lopez family has now completed a large part of the infrastructure construction.

At the Donghua Group, even Wu Heguang went to the factory in person and kept an eye on each production workshop, striving to ensure that all equipment could be completed on time.

Although there is still some time before the equipment handover deadline, the contract between the two parties was signed in September 2019, and all the equipment will be transported to Luzon by mid-June this year.

Seeing that there were about four months left, Wu Heguang did not dare to be careless at this time.

After all, this order was very urgent. It took 10 months to complete all the equipment manufacturing, and the production line was basically stretched to the limit. He also mobilized a large number of manpower to ensure the current production speed.

Especially some time ago, several spare parts suppliers in Jiangcheng and Lianghu areas were unable to supply on time. This made Wu Heguang a little overwhelmed and had to temporarily increase prices and find other factories to replace them.

After all, this batch of equipment is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and some of the key equipment, the synthetic ammonia production line, requires specialized factories to manufacture, and some parts suppliers are even produced by one company.

This makes Wu Heguang a little anxious these days, constantly asking those suppliers to ensure the timely supply of parts.

The Lopez family is also urging, and the excuse is very legitimate.

That is, now Luzon's grain is facing the attack of ABCD, and the price of pesticides and fertilizers has increased very abnormally, which makes Luzon even more urgent to realize the localization of pesticides and fertilizers.

the other side.

Luzon's fertilizer and pesticide supply problems at this time are indeed somewhat serious.

After all, chemical giants such as Dow, BASF, Bayer, and DuPont wear the same pants as ABCD.

If it weren't for the fertilizers and pesticides supplied by some Chinese chemical companies, Luzon would have been eaten to death by these guys.

But this situation is not set in stone.

At the Limanan Biogas Fermentation Plant in southern Luzon.

After fermentation by genetically modified methane bacteria, the remaining fermentation waste liquid and residue are quickly sucked into another factory building on the west side of the factory.

Employees wearing protective clothing control the equipment. The waste liquid and residue are thrown out of most of the water by the roller. The remaining waste residue passes through the production line, adding a small amount of sawdust and grass powder, and pouring it into long plates.

The long trays are then sent to the next factory on a conveyor belt, which is a mushroom cultivation plant. Employees wearing protective clothing inject bacteria into each long tray.

There were already mushrooms growing in the factory, which looked like ordinary mushrooms. However, after the employees harvested the mushrooms, the long trays used as culture media were sent to another factory.

In this factory, the culture medium on which a crop of mushrooms has grown is taken out and sent to the screening machine.

After shaking and cleaning, the culture medium is separated into the secondary culture material and the mycelial nodules of the mushrooms. These nodules are sent to the pheromone sterilization furnace and the high-temperature sterilization furnace. Finally, they are mixed with a crusher and auxiliary materials and become into bags of organic nitrogen fertilizer with a nitrogen content of 12%.

Zhang Wei, who was in charge of Haitian Agriculture, grabbed a handful of powder and smiled at Jade Energy’s general manager, Bri:

"Yes, cooperatives from various places have recently reported that the use of organic fertilizers produced by us has been very effective. The amount of urea used per acre has been reduced by about 62%, and soil compaction has also been reduced. In addition, the organic matter content of the soil can be maintained for the second season of farming, and there will be no problems. Significant organic matter decline.”

"As long as it can be used, our other biogas fermentation plants can also be modified accordingly." Brie replied happily.

They have also introduced fermented muck soil before. Although the fertility and organic matter content are quite good, there are many problems.

One of the most troublesome problems is that the nutrients in the soil are uneven and it is difficult to determine the amount to be used, which is prone to fertilizer damage.

After the purification of genetically modified mushrooms and genetically modified rhizobia, it not only becomes organic fertilizer, but also obtains a large amount of organic nitrogen through the rhizobia.

"General Manager Buri, how is the current output of this factory?"

"It can produce about 5,000 to 6,000 tons per month. If the transformation of other biogas fermentation plants is completed, it is estimated that it can reach about 300,000 tons per month."

Zhang Wei made an evaluation and found that this output can replace 100,000 tons of agricultural urea (nitrogen content 42% to 46%).

The reason why it can replace so much is that at least 50% of urea will be lost during use.

The long-lasting effects of organic fertilizers will increase nitrogen utilization.

Of course, chemical fertilizers are still essential. When quick top-dressing is needed, organic fertilizers are not as good as chemical fertilizers. Organic fertilizers are suitable as base fertilizers and soil conditioners, as well as reducing the use of chemical fertilizers.

Zhang Wei is no longer a novice at the beginning. After hard training and study, coupled with the influence of so many agricultural researchers in the company, he naturally understands that chemical fertilizers and organic fertilizers are an indispensable part of modern agriculture.

"As for the technicians, I'll make arrangements as soon as possible. After all, those rubbish from ABCD are waiting outside."

Brie also nodded: "There is no problem on my side. The venue and equipment will be put in place soon, but it would be a pity to feed those mushrooms to pigs."

"It's not okay to sell it on the market. Although there is not much risk in consumption, our mushroom production is enough. If we continue to increase the scale of the market, Fenghao will not agree. It is also good as pig feed."

Brie shrugged at this: "OK, I don't object to genetically modified mushrooms anyway. I even eat insect protein often. We have to learn to adapt. After all, this is the future!"

Zhang Wei naturally understood what the other party was talking about. After all, the Homo sapiens company often holds future world discussions within the company. Many people are not optimistic about the future of mankind. Bree is the kind of person who is worried about the end of the world.

After completing the inspection of the Limanan Biogas Fermentation Plant, Zhang Wei went to the Limanan Seaweed Refining Base without stopping.

This seaweed refining base is currently the largest refining base under Haitian Agriculture.

The base can annually produce 1.5 million tons of seaweed starch, 300,000 tons of trehalose, 6 million tons of seaweed fiber (which can be secondary processed and converted into various syrups), and 800,000 tons of carrageenan.

Recently, an organic compound fertilizer production plant has been added, which mainly uses three types of genetically modified seaweed to enrich potassium and phosphate from seawater, and nitrogen from the air, and then sends these seaweeds to the biogas fermentation plant in the base.

In addition to producing methane, these seaweed fermentation residues are dried and ground into powder. After adding calcium oxide, they are mixed in a certain ratio to produce organic fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and various trace elements.

Luzon does not have potash mines or large-scale phosphate mines, so it can only rely on bioconcentration methods to produce this organic compound fertilizer.

This factory has an annual output of approximately 1.5 million tons of organic compound fertilizers, or individual organic nitrogen fertilizers, organic potassium fertilizers, and organic phosphate fertilizers.

Thinking of using chemical fertilizers and pesticides on Luzon’s neck is just wishful thinking.

Regarding pesticides, Haitian Agriculture plans to use pheromone control methods, genetically modified immunity methods, and pesticides to reduce the use of pesticides.

Of course, Haitian Agriculture will also develop its own chemical pesticides.

This shows how difficult it is for small countries to achieve agricultural independence.

As soon as Luzon showed signs of secession, ABCD and a group of chemical giants and seed companies joined forces to deal with Luzon.

This confrontation is almost ubiquitous.
