Entering the Palace 3

In the beginning, I was the one who drags Long Zi Xuan around.  But  I got confused because I don’t know the way.  In the end, Long Zi Xuan leads us; acting as though I am pulling him behind.   As we walk, those eunuchs and maids all greets him while kneeling, it is pretty grating to the ears.  Long Zi Xuan didn’t even glance at them, much less acknowledge them.

After a long while, I have no idea how long we have been walking.  I am so tired I no longer have the interest to appreciate this imperial palace.  This hateful Long Zi Xuan, what is he so anxious and hasty for?

“Alright, you should rest in this pavilion for a while.  I will go first, I’ll come back soon.”  He brings me to a pavilion in the middle of a lake.  When he turns around to leave, I quickly grabs onto him.

“Where are you going?  Why are you ditching me here?”

He pushes away my hands, “Imperial father is still in the morning court.  You stay right here and don’t create trouble!  If you do something wrong, even I cannot save you!”  After he finishes speaking, before I even gets the chance to protest, he walks off.

This pavilion is built in the middle of a lake.  There are two bridges, each built on each side.  I look around.  The willows by the lake are billowing, the grasses are green.  Long Zi Xuan and I were from the western side of the palace and on the eastern side is a little forest of peach blossoms.

I slowly walk through the pebbled promenade and reach that beautiful scene.  The groomed peach trees show that they are being cared for.  I wonder if the owner has similar bearings as those lofty and amorous peach blossoms.  I stand amidst the crimson red settings as I gently prod a peach tree’s trunk.  These colorful and luxurious petals look so good under the sun.  It’s fragrance floats to your nose gently.

I remembers Song Dynasty’s Bai Min Zhong’s poem, ‘Thousands of dense blossoms and fragrance, each branches is like a cluttered clouds of dawn, a gentleman looks at the scenery tirelessly, the flowers that breaks through the spring’s sun.”  I suddenly feels like I am in the middle of peach blossom haven, I somehow has the urge to dance.

There is a swing underneath an old locust tree.  Great!  I hastily makes my way to the swing.

A pair of demonic eyes watches Xiao Duo who is running in the middle of the peach blossom forest.  That person quickly makes his way towards her from the pavilion.

I suddenly feel like there is someone behind me.  I turn around.

It is a startlingly stunning person ah!  His face resembles Long Zi Xuan but there is no trace of ice in his eyes.  In fact, his long phoenix eyes seems to carry smiles.  Pale skin, luxurious lips….. He is wearing purples robes and ties his hair casually with a purple silk.  I stares at him like an idiot, not knowing how to react.

“Handsome guy, no- beautiful guy, my name is Xiao Duo.”  I took so long only to say that?  No, his impression of me must be really bad.

“Xiao Duo?  Then, you can call me Yue.”  Long Zi Yue smiles lightly.

“Yue?  This peach blossom forest is so beautiful.  I want to use the swing, but I wonder if the owner will mind?”  I asks him softly.

“I can take the responsibility for you.”

That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.  Being able to simply enter this place, his identity shouldn’t be simple.

I sits on the swing while that handsome guy called Yue help pushes me.  This feels like a dream!

Light wind carries peach blossom’s fragrance.  Xiao Duo’s skirt billows beautifully as the swing moves.  Her eyes are bright like stars.  Long Zi Yue watches the beautiful scene in front of him and suddenly thinks of, ‘the person in front shines like peach blossom.’  He originally saw her exquisite face laughing happily as she runs in the middle of the peach blossom forest.  She looked so delicate; so he had immediately used qinggong to come over.  Lucky no one is around.

“Yue, how good will it be if this goes on forever.”  I tell him wishfully, hoping the time can freeze.  The beautiful forest, the handsome Yue!

“Xiao Duo, aren’t you curious about me?” Yue quietly asks.

“Yue, have you ever heard of this, ‘curiosity kills the cat’?  Besides, meeting someone is fate.  If you have the fate to, you will naturally meets that someone.”

“What Xiao Duo said is right!”  Hearing Yue’s sigh, I feel inexplicable sadness in my heart.

I continue to leisurely leans on the swing.  Wonder if Long Zi Xuan is back?

“Yue, why don’t you get in with me?” I pull him; who is standing behind me.  He concedes and sits next to me.  Seeing his handsome face, I suddenly feels inferior.  He looks even better than a woman!

I am drowning in the fragrance of the peach blossom.  I close my eyes and place my head on Yue’s shoulder.  Even though we have only met, I take my meeting with him as fate and fully trust him.

Yue looks at the sleeping Xiao Duo and lightly smiles.  He affectionately pats her hair.

Someone heads towards them from afar.
