"Founder of Moore's Law: Trinary technology is completely worth the loss."

"Samsung Electronics Engineers Comment on Trinary Technology: Trinary is an anti-human design."

"Why was the ternary computer abandoned? Why is it mentioned again and again?"

"Gao Xiaosong: You can't get overtaking in corners by taking the wrong edge. Being down-to-earth is the way to go."

"Aerospace companies make chips? Cross-border crossing is not that simple!"

"..."

On August 18, when five tourists from the Oriental International Space Hotel entered space aboard the Unity and docked with the Tiangong Space Station for another space station tourism project, a group of semiconductor companies hiding in the Maple Leaf National Conference finally responded. .

It's called a summit, but it's actually confirming where China's ternary technology has gone.

It's very simple to know. Just search by keyword in the newly added patent databases of various countries.

Then they saw the five-digit patents... all applied by Xinyuan Company or employees. Some were shared between private individuals and the company, and some were held by the company.

These tens of thousands of patents make people wonder whether the Chinese Patent Office has been recording patents to the point of smoke coming out of the keyboard over the past month or so, but if you look closely, they are all important basic technologies.

Although it is an unfamiliar field, the team of engineers they organized quickly analyzed the results: ternary chip design and manufacturing are already quite mature, and the other party's patent wall can be described as airtight.

The scope is simply jaw-dropping, and if you want to enter the ternary system, there is absolutely no way around these patents.

Of course, the biggest trouble is that through mainland China's ability to produce small quantities of 28nm processes, ternary computers can actually compete with mainstream chips using 14nm processes!

This not only means the threat of ternary technology, but also represents the higher development potential of ternary, especially the powerful AI computing power, which is a recognized future direction.

While they were working hard to think of countermeasures, they also began to secretly promote the interception of ternary technology.

As soon as Lin Ju opened his eyes, he saw that the hot search topics were almost all overt and covert criticisms of ternary technology.

Including some well-known media or celebrities, they actually showed up to give pointers to ternary technology?

who are they? Even the Committee of Science and Industry invited experts from multiple departments to conduct comprehensive analyzes before they dared to say a few conclusions, and these people can just give pointers in long speeches?

The target was pointed at last month's Semiconductor Summit, apparently to make people think that studying ternary technology is a waste of manpower and material resources, interrupting the research process.

Naturally, Xinyuan was not let off, saying that they were crossing borders and did not understand chip technology and were messing around.

Lin Ju naturally didn't take it to heart. The more they jumped, the more it proved that the technology they came up with could indeed pose a threat, and they should intensify their efforts.

I just don’t know if the Science and Technology Commission can resist it?

On August 20, Intel executive Pat Gelsinger and Qualcomm CEO Steve Molenko visited China.

Zhang Siren, director of the Science and Technology Commission, personally received them.

There was only a simple announcement before the visit of the two heavyweights in the semiconductor industry, and they acted quickly. They arrived on the same flight. After going to the Asian headquarters, they came directly to the capital.

The two brought Zhang Siren what they thought was two pieces of good news:

First, if necessary, Intel can sell the most high-end high-end Xiqiang series CPUs involving sensitive sequences for manufacturing the next generation of supercomputers;

Second, ARM architecture and X86 architecture can have limited authorization for chips used in servers and professional workstations.

Although it is not yet an era when it is difficult to buy a mobile phone with a chip blockade, the two conditions provided by the two companies are indeed very attractive, especially Intel is willing to squeeze out a little bit of the X86 architecture through its teeth, although it is limited to professional workstations and servers. , which is surprising enough.

You must know that except for licensing to AMD and Velixin (now discontinued) to avoid splitting, Intel has the X86 architecture firmly in its hands, and no one can touch it.

Of course, they also have requirements:

Stop the development of ternary chips or open 1,400 basic ternary patents.

In response to such a request, Zhang Siren politely invited them to climb the Great Wall and Mount Tai to appreciate the natural scenery of the mountains, rivers and land.

Are you kidding me, sending beggars away for just this little benefit? Now that research institutes and colleges across the country are mobilizing, why don't we do this?

Now the entire domestic semiconductor industry is going crazy. With Xinyuan's tacit approval, some performance parameters of the X32115 chip and XW151 system have been made public.

You can imagine how excited the industry was when they learned that the X32115, which is doped with 28, 45, and 55nm processes, can rival the mainstream 14nm Zhiqiang. They were all ready to roll up their sleeves and compete with foreigners.

Even if most of the patents are in the hands of Huanghe Semiconductor and Xinyuan, as a domestic company, they can't be stuck in collecting money and not giving it away. There is no need to worry about sanctions.

Therefore, Director Zhang is extremely calm. It will only take about a year for a large wave of ternary chips to emerge in China to compete for the market. This time is still worth the wait.

Pat and Steve were no longer calm. The more Zhang Siren didn't care, the more powerful their ternary technology was.

But they couldn't make more decisions immediately, so they simply stayed in the capital for the time being and actively contacted the country.

As for the doubts emerging in the country, the Science and Technology Commission has not been idle either.

On August 22, 12 government agencies in Beijing announced that they would comprehensively upgrade their office computers and purchase Great Wall Computer's Great Wall G1X, a high-performance professional workstation barebone notebook computer.

Then the title of the front-page article changed: "Domestic 'core', domestically produced."

Great Wall Computer and its units held a grand and open delivery ceremony in Beijing, inviting media from all walks of life and many consumer electronics manufacturers entering the domestic market.

At the venue, the person in charge of Great Wall Computer held up the slightly thicker G1X computer and read aloud the parameters displayed on the curtain behind it:

“The Great Wall G1X is a high-performance office notebook equipped with a Y1601 ‘Qiongqi’ processor from Huanghe Semiconductor, which combines graphics computing and native support for AI functions;

Equipped with 9GB ternary dynamic random access memory produced by Hua Hong Semiconductor;

The storage space is also Hua Hong Semiconductor’s 243GB solid state drive;

Equipped with the XOS3.2 window operating system produced by Xinyuan Aerospace Power;

Equipped with a 72Wh large-capacity lithium-ion battery and a 1080p high-quality screen, the size is 15.6 inches, the overall weight (excluding adapter) is 2.3kg, and the adapter power is 230w. "

Of course, in fact, the Y1601 chip is the X32115 taken from the Huaxin production line. It takes out these electronic components for cars and temporarily saves some computers. It mainly proves that the domestic ternary system has entered practical use.

The system is also provided by Xinyuan. The XOS system currently supports a full set of office software and audio and video playback, which can fully meet the needs of government departments.

The office software was hard-translated directly from Kingsoft and purchased a WPS license. Although it is large and wasteful, X32115 can still easily support it to run smoothly, and users do not need to adapt to it again.
