I Can Speak with Animals and Demons

It’s not strange that there is a lot of food and big items stored here because it’s merchant’s luggage.

However, there are signs in this one.

And sometimes I can hear voices like this.

I don’t know the contents of the luggage because I’m not a merchant here.

However, there may be some sort of creature behind the signs and voices.

It is common among nobles to keep birds and adult demons for pets.

Nothing is wrong with the carriage.

But the voice is strangely familiar. Specifically, three voices with green skin.

I’m just a person hitching a ride. There is no reason to open the luggage without permission.

I kick the wooden box lightly.

There is a surpised reaction coming from the box.

The box keeps on making a “bikubiku” sound.

I’m suspicious.

If it’s a normal animal, it should be screaming, and if I hear a scream, I shouldn’t be wrong. I can’t sleep because of the swaying signs.

In other words, it is intentionally silent. What will it do if I keep kicking like this…

After a while of being swayed by the carriage, the carriage finally stopped and took a break.

Speaking of which, I asked the merchant about the village and Ether ahead of us, and we ate lunch together.

When I shouted, the goblins finally broke the lid of the wooden box and appeared.

“Yeah, on purpose. You’re moving and making Mozomozo sounds so I can’t help but care.”

“Oh, that’s okay. You’re out. You’ll be poisoned in the woods the next time you wake up!”

After heraing the ruckus, the merchant approaches me with a bitter smile.

『Yeah, let’s go back to the box.』

I lower my face thay involontarily turns red. There is no point justifying. No matter how you look at it, it was just noise.

“I see. I know you’re looking forward to Ether, but we’re not there yet.”

The merchant, with warm eyes, puts his hand on my shoulder as if he is teaching a child.

I look like a child looking forward to becoming an adventurer.
