I Was a Sword When I Reincarnated

『Here comes the last match of the day! Between these two, who will come out victorious!? The mercenary Neidhart, who has so far overturned everyone's skepticism and had won a series of overwhelming victories! Will his twin swords bring down his opponent in this match!? Against him is the former A ranked adventurer, Fermus the Dragon Hunter! He too has won his way up to this point with his overwhelming strength! Will those threads of his be able to caught its prey this time as well!?』

The commentator tried to heat up the crowds, but the cheers of the male spectators was somewhat quieter than before.

It's probably because it's a showdown between a reluctant looking uncle and a courageous mantis man than between beautiful girls like Hilt and Clicker before.

But for us, this match was more worth watching because we had no idea who was going to win.

Abbab lost to Diaz, Clicker lost to Hilt, each of them was strong, there is no doubt about it. However, the two previous matches were won by the stronger fighter.

But in this match, both sides are about equal in strength.

「Who will win?」

「Woof…」

Both Fran and Urushi seem to be genuinely trying to enjoy the match rather than trying to analyze their moves. Well, leave the analysis to me――or should I say, Announcer-san in me.

「I support Fermus」

「Woof?」

「His threads is amazing. It's hard to escape it in this tight space」

「Woof… Woof!」

「Urushi, support Neidhart?」

「Woof woof!」

Urushi then raises his upper body while bending both of his paws. He's probably trying to imitate a praying mantis.

I guess Urushi has taken a favor on Neidhart. His speed is certainly amazing, and he's without a doubt one of the fastest among the participants.

But just like Fran, I think that Fermus has the upper hand in this match.

I don't exactly have a clear vision on Fermus' victory. But the idea of thread and insect somehow reminds me of a certain predator and prey. I mean, no matter how many mantises there are, they won't be able to escape once they got entangled in a spider's threads.

Well, that's just my image of how this match would go based on this matchup composition though.

「Fran-chan, can I sit next to you?」

「Elsa? Sure」

「Thanks」

It seems that she had come to watch the match of the opponent who had defeated her.

Her intense gaze was focused on Neidhart. Seeing Elsa like that, Fran tilted her head.

「I thought Elsa didn't like insects?」

「Aah, you mean about Neidhart-sama's face?」

「Nn」

「He may have the look of an insect-kin, but he's a nice man on the inside. So, I had no problem. What I can't stomach about him is the creepiness of not being able to saw through his moves…」

It seems that Elsa has no problem about the insect-kin, but she's more concerned about the person himself.

While we were talking about our expectations, the match started.

「Shiiyaah!」

「Threads Wall!」

The match went as expected. Neidhart launched an aggressive attack right from the start, and Fermus, while fending off the attack, built up his thread position.

Knowing that things would get troublesome once Fermus is done building his threads, Neidhart launched the super-fast attack that finished off Elsa early in the game.

I could see the enormous amount of magic power in his legs. That must be the effect of his unique skill. It is a simple but very useful skill that allows him to move at high speed for long periods of time.

And Fermus is as good as ever for reacting to it. I guess he can sense it in advance by deploying countless thin threads around him.

In this way, he manages to block Neidhart's twin swords while dealing slight damage his threads trap. The twin swords may seem to hit him but he doesn't seem to have received any damage.

It must be all thanks to the defensive threads wall he had put up. By absorbing the shock, it can continuously take both his slashes and blows.

「Fermus is strong」

「Yeah, I'd say he's as strong as guild master」
