Episode 40 – Aika’s Feelings

When I came back from my date with Iori, Aika was waiting for me near my house. It was at the memorable place where I always met up with Aika.

 “Aika…..what’s wrong? Don’t tell me you’re?

“Yeah, I was waiting for you, Naru.”

“Waiting for me…..but we’ve already broken up..”

“Yeah, that’s right.”

“Then what do you want?”

“Can’t I just come to congratulate my childhood friend for getting a girlfriend?”

What the hell is she talking about…..she’s the one who broke up with me.

I got a little angry.

“Of course you can’t……you know how hard it was for me to forget about you, Aika.”

After being silent for a while, Aika muttered in a small voice.

“I see,……Naru has already forgotten about me….but I still haven’t.”

Aika’s expression seemed to be depressed.

“Eh….”

What did Aika just say right now?

Did she say that she hasn’t forgotten yet?

You broke up with me cause you have someone you liked, right?

What do you mean?

At that time, I didn’t understand what Aika wanted to say.

“Are things not going well?”

I couldn’t think of any other words to say.

“That’s not true.”

For some reason, I was relieved.

“Well, I’ll be going.”

“Wait…..didn’t you have something to do?”

“I’m fine already. I just wanted to see you, Naru.”

“See ya.”

“Wai….Aika.”

Came to see the face of the man you threw…I wonder what kind of feeling you have.

—I’m not sure how I feel about that.

I’ve never thought about Aika’s feelings because I’ve been so occupied with being dumped.

I’m not sure why Aika changed her mind.

We were really good friends and laughed together every day.

I had never imagined that I would have to break up with Aika.

Aika hadn’t shown any such signs until that day.

I had never imagined that she would fall in love with another man after spending time with me every day…….

Who the hell is the other guy?

Was he in the same middle school?

I mean, it’s impossible if it’s not from the same middle school. Aika would come to my house in her spare time, and there’s  no way she could interact with students from other schools.

No way, Yukki?

No, no, how can you doubt your best friend and childhood friend …….

Aika’s strange behavior made me a little uneasy, but I stopped to think about it.

Whatever the reason is, that was Aika’s choice, and I have Iori.
