Alaine smiled at the receptionist and received a bag that contained quite a lot of gold coins. Apparently Alaine and I had received a request to capture a pretty strong monster that suddenly appeared in this town. The said fairly strong monster was that crab-like monster I had to fight suddenly when I first arrived in this world. 

“So… Are the two of you planning to leave this town soon?”

The receptionist asked us hesitantly. 

“Yeah. That’s right.”

Alaine strongly nodded. 

“Our goal is to kill the evil god. For that sake, we need to go to various places in order to find that evil god.”

“….?!”

Huh?! Is that so? So Alaine and I are on a journey to kill the evil god? This is the first time I’ve heard about it though? Well I guess, of course this is my first time hearing it.

“I see…. It can’t be helped then.”

The receptionist muttered ruefully. 

Hm. She has quite a favorable impression on Alaine and I. Have we done something that beneficial for this town? Well the current Alaine has a good communication skill so maybe that added to it.

“That’s right. Sorry about that. We have something that we have to do.”

“No, no. It’s alright. There’s no way I’m going to stop the two of you from reaching your goal.”

“If you say so then, we’re grateful for the thought. Now then, we need to get going.”

Alaine said so before she left the place. I also followed after her. 

“Now then…. Where should we go next? Zero, do you have any place you want to visit?”

“Hm? No. None.”

I smiled as I answered Alaine’s question.

“I see… Then I’ll be the one to decide then.”

“Yeah. Please do…. Ah.”

I softly muttered. 

“Hm? What’s wrong?’

“No, it’s just, I have a request. I hope the place we’re going to has good food.”

“I got it.”

Alaine nodded in agreement at my words.

“….. Hm? Zero? Since when have you become that fixated on food?”

She then asked another question to me, seemingly just realizing she had some curiosity about what I had just said. 

“I finally realized how wonderful good food is.”

“Oh! I see! Then…. Let me treat you to some of my home cooking next time!”

“!! Yeah! Please! I’m looking forward to it!”

I nodded excitedly at Alaine’s invitation. 

Alaine’s home cooking! I can’t wait… I couldn’t taste the true flavor of her cooking before so I’m really looking forward to it….
