I Will Conquer The World!

Ethan was a 17 year old boy. He had one brother who was 16 years old and a sister and brother who were 15 year olds. His 16 year old brother was called Arnold, and his 15 year old brother was called Maxine. His 15 year old sister was called Kara.

His mother died when she gave birth to Kara and Maxine. They were twins, except they did not look alike at all. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that they are of different genders.

His father loved them a lot. From the time when he was two and his mother passed away, his father was everything for Ethan. They were a happy little family.

But of course, good things don't last forever. His father was looted and killed by local thieves when he was going to the shop to buy something.

His body was found later and brought to them. Ethan distinctly remembered the injuries that were scattered over his father's body.

He was 15 then. He took the responsibility to take care of the family along with Arnold who was just 14 at that time.

They did menial labour and earned barely enough to properly feed his brother and sister.

And then, the famine struck. Things became desolate for them. Ethan and Arnold became hunters, as menial labour was not enough to feed their sister and brother anymore.

They watched skilled hunters hunt, practised their archery and sword skills, and learnt skills personally from less skilled hunters by paying them.

They gained average skills in hunting, and could hunt a level one beast, but the problem was that they would not come out of the hunt unscathed.

They somehow dragged their days by with a mix of menial labour and hunting. 

But, one day, everything changed.

Arnold had been injured by a level one beast, and so Ethan had to search for work.

He was passing by a deserted street, when he saw a hut, which had it's doors open widely with sounds of struggling and screams coming from inside.

Ethan was slightly surprised by it as he stopped walking and stared at the hut. He creeped to the hut slowly and peeked inside while making sure no one from the inside saw him.

Ethan felt his heart in his throat, beating rapidly.

He saw three men who had their faces covered with a rag scuffling around the small hut, grabbing anything that seemed edible or useful.

There was the dead body of a woman and three children scattered on the floor.

An idea surfaced itself in his head. What if.... Just what if he kills the robbers?
