Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star
Chapter 135 - Ch. 135 Spread Like A Virus
'Merry Christmas 2042. Miss you.'
Chleo looked at the text from her phone thoughtfully. She didn't know how many times she had taken deep breaths ever since she received the text.
She was pondering whether she should reply or not. She should, but... why did the sender have to end it with 'Miss you'? Now she didn't know how to give a reply.
Chleo sat on the terrace overlooking the sea with a blank stare. She absentmindedly let her phone laid on her lap. Chleo was too lost in her thoughts to notice Diego sneaking up behind her. He peeked at the text for a moment before the screen went dead.
Why was his sister lost in thought only after received a customary greeting?
It's normal to say Christmas greetings, but it's not normal to end it with 'miss you.' The only people who might say this was Maximillian and…
Ah, was it Alexis?
If Max were the sender, his sister would not stargaze like this and directly reply to the message. It was another story if the sender was another man who once confessed his feelings at Chleo.
"You kids chose the right place. The view is stunning."
Diego and Chleo both looked up at Daniel Paxton, who was now sitting along with Chleo to see the ocean view.
"Grandpa Daniel," Chleo gave a sweet smile and stood up.
Daniel sat relaxed in a comfortable sleeping chair, enjoying the cool breeze and the soothing sound of the waves. Chleo and Diego both sat next to their grandfather. One was on the right while the latter was on the left.
"You don't like the beach, grandpa?" asked Chleo curiously.
"Hm… Not that I don't like it. But I didn't get to go to the beach before."
"You've never been to the beach? Like ever?" Diego asked, almost in disbelief.
"Of course I have. The last time I went to the beach…." Daniel seemed to think for a moment, trying to remember the last time he went to the beach. "Ah, when I took your mother to the beach the first time. She was four at the time."
"Grandpa, what was =mother like when she was little?"
"Cathy as a child… she was like an overheated worm," stated Daniel with a witty tone that made the two young people next to him even more interested. It had been a long time since they had heard the story of their father and mother's childhood.
And they particularly admired their parent's stories, especially when they heard their parents' love stories from various people.
Their stories were different, but the conclusion was only one. The father loved his wife so much that he was willing to do anything to make the woman smiling.
'I can only love you in this world.'
This phrase was one of the most memorable and imprinted on Chleo's memory. For Vincent, Cathy was irreplaceable and vice versa. Chleo wondered if she could be like her parents? Would her relationship with Max be like those who could only love one person for a lifetime?
"Do you know why the plane we are on is called CDR 777?" asked Daniel in a mysterious tone.
"I know," answered Diego. "CDR stands for Chleora Diego Regnz. Right?"
"How did you know?" Chleo didn't expect her father to name his two children on the family's private jet.
"I don't. I'm just guessing," answered Diego honestly.
Diego already knew the plane's interior design because he had even ridden several times in his past life. All the layouts, interiors, sizes, and colors were exactly the same as in his memory. That's why he wasn't at all surprised nor stunned when he boarded it with the others.
However, there was one tiny different thing. Diego remembered that the plane was named Rinrin 830. Diego knew Rinrin was his mother's nickname when his mother was young, while 830 was his mother's birthday.
If his father gave his mother's name for the plane in the past, then it was possible that his father also gave the name of his loved one for it.
CDR... Chleora Diego Regnz was the abbreviation Diego could think of.
As for the number 777… he didn't know the reason.
Diego and Chleo's birthday was neither the 7th nor the 7th month. So he didn't understand the number 7 at all.
"Your guess is correct. CDR was indeed taken from your name."
Chleo smiled happily, hearing that. "Then what does the number 777 stands for?"
"Your father had this unique preference at this number. He believed the number 7 was the perfect number that completes his life. Before you were born, there was only one person who occupied the number 7 in his heart. But now there are two more. You know who those two people are, right?"
Chleo and Diego grinned widely to respond to their grandfather. Ah, Vincent was a doting father even he doesn't want to admit it.
"Chleo, the receptionist just told me that you had a package from outside. Do you want to pick it up yourself or have the staff bring it here?" the mother's soft voice came from behind the villa door.
"Package? From whom?"
"She said from Dietrich. How strange. Why did Dietrich also send you a package?"
"I'll take it myself," Chleo exclaimed spontaneously, surprising the others.
Without giving Cathy another chance to ask, Chleo had rushed out into the resort's main lobby.
"Isn't Dietrich Evie's lover? Why does she look so happy?" asked Daniel in wonder at his granddaughter's behavior.
"That's because the real sender was Maximillian, who borrowed Dietrich's name. At that time, papa still didn't know it, and sister didn't want papa to know. So Max used Dietrich's name to send her a present." explained Diego reluctantly.
"Who is Maximillian?" Daniel still doesn't know about Chleo's closeness to a young man.
Like everyone else, Daniel thought Chleo would seeing Alexis. No wonder he was also confused by the name of another young man.
Again in a lazy voice, Diego told what had happened to his sister in Seattle when she met Maximillian.
He never expected Daniel to tell Marcel about this, and then Marcel told this to Kinsey, which Katie also heard. As if it didn't spread enough, Katie told Meisya, and in the end, it spread to all family members like a virus.
Diego hadn't planned it, and he was sure Chleo hoped that few people would find out that she already had a boyfriend.
Who would have thought, in just a few minutes, everyone already knew that Chleo, who previously thought all young men were just friends, now has a lover.
"Chleo, when are you going to introduce that young man to us? I want to meet him."
Chleo had just finished picking up a gift wrapped in beautiful baby blue paper with a dark blue ribbon wrapped around the four sides of the parcel when Aunt Katie and Abi came over to her.
"What young man?"
"Who else? Of course, your lover. What's his name again? Ah, right. It's Maximillian, isn't it?" teased Abi with sparkling eyes made Chleo speechless.
How did she know Max's name?!
Chleo looked at the text from her phone thoughtfully. She didn't know how many times she had taken deep breaths ever since she received the text.
