Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 145 - Ch. 145 The Drama

Everyone gathered in the dining room without exception in the evening. The atmosphere should be merry like yesterday, but now it was not as relaxed as last night. It was because there was an additional member from the Ewald family.

The adults greeted their arrival quite warmly, unfortunately not with their children.

All the teenagers, including Evie and Theo, were moody and didn't want to talk at all. Meli and Moni deliberately sat near their older siblings, a bit far from their parents. They all agreed to hide their wounds from their parents... for now.

Diego and Chleo knew well what reaction Kinsey would give when he found out that his precious daughter's hand was injured. They agreed to wait for the right time to tell Kinsey and Stanley.

Their sitting position was now from the far-right starting from Joseph and Vienna, then on Joseph's right, there was Ewald next to his wife and followed by Graham. Meanwhile, Hadley and Megan sat next to Vienna.

Then Chleo and the others took the seat next to Megan while Steve sat next to Graham. The other teenagers sitting on the far left ended with Meli and Moni seated on the far left.

"Dear Hadley, why do you look so sad?" Vienna still didn't know the little scene in the pool area earlier, so she asked Hadley softly.

"It's nothing, gran Vienna."

Megan, who heard the answer from her sister, just rolled her eyes. She already knew that her brother's actions had caused trouble for Chleo's cousins, making her unable to meet Chleo face to face.

"Why don't you admit your mistake?" whispered Megan into Hadley's ear.

"What did I do wrong? Evie slapped me."

"But you hit her sister first. What if Mister Alvianc refuses to help our father? We came here to hook up the Alvianc group."

"Take it easy. I didn't hurt his child. Everything will be fine." she answered casually.

"How can you be sure the girl isn't his?"

"Isn't Kinsey Alvianc only has a son and daughter? The girls I fought were twins. I'm pretty sure they weren't his children."

Megan sighed in resignation. "That's not the right excuse to correct your wrong deeds."

"Shut up, will you?"

Megan bit her lips in frustration and decided to stay quiet. Her sister was stubborn, and no one could help her.

At the long western table, several children pretended to eat their food while chattering happily. But occasionally, they would glance at the eastern table, at Hadley to be exact.

Diego could catch what Celdrich, Henrich, and Kendrich were doing. They winked at each other as if they were communicating silently. It wasn't an ordinary wink but a secret code he had taught them.

Diego smirked at the boys. It seemed they were all up to something. Diego hummed cheerfully impatiently to see a 'drama.'

Not long after, Kendrich accidentally dropped his spoon and bent down to pick it. Surprisingly, the boy did not appear to make Diego feel curious.

Diego glanced at the Calvins twins, who were whispering to each other, then one of them left and went to the bathroom. At first, Diego wanted to find out more, but Katie invited him to talk.

"Diego, did I see it wrong? It looks like your sister has become quiet today."

Diego glanced at his sister, who was sitting next to Priscilla. She ate her meal reluctantly and had a gloomy face.

"Did something happen?"

"I wonder about that. Sister Chleo was accompanying Uncle Ewald's kids, so we weren't together when we were swimming."

"Then, is there something that happened at the pool?"

"What?"

"So, something did happen. Even though you gave her powder, I can still see the bluish marks on Moni's lips. Is she alright? Did she fall?"

"Ah, that…" Diego didn't know what to say to answer the woman's question. "Long story. Maybe Evie will tell you. She knows better." Diego cunningly threw the question at Evie.

After all, he didn't know what happened before he arrived at the scene. He didn't know how Hadley got her heel into Meli's hand and didn't know how Hadley hit Moni. All he knew was that Evie was there with the two poor girls after giving Hadley a hard slap.

If he looked at Hadley, the girl's cheek was a little swollen, but there were no traces of slap. There were no bluish or red marks like after being slapped.

What a lucky woman! Sarcasm Diego.

Kendrich, who had disappeared before, has now appeared with a happy smile making Diego realize. Kendrich has snuck under the table!

This table was so long and wide that even an adult could crawl in the middle without being afraid to touch the legs on both sides. The table was covered with a long tablecloth that covered their toes so that no one would notice someone had crawled under the table.

Diego glanced at the bench where the twins were sitting, and just as he expected, Richard had not returned from the lavatory.

Waiters started appearing to pick up dirty plates and refill their drinks. Then they reappeared with the much-anticipated dessert.

Everyone was conversing happily with each other, utterly unaware that Richard had appeared quietly following one of the food deliverymen.

Just as the waiter was about to distribute dessert across Hadley's table, Richard ran as fast as he could and bumped into the waiter sending the dessert tray spilling right over Hadley's head, causing the girl to shriek in disgust.

Assorted puddings came out of the bowl and stained Hadley's hair and her so-called expensive evening dress.

"What are you doing? Useless servant! Look at my clothes! So all dirty!!!"

Megan tried to tug on her sister's elbow to calm her down, while Ewald just shook his head at his daughter's embarrassing behavior.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." The servant bowed while glancing at Richard with a resigned look.

"Ah, I knocked him. Sorry, I didn't mean it." Richard said it out loud for everyone there to hear.

"Ha! You must have done it on purpose, right?" challenged Hadley as she was sure this boy tried to mess around with her.

"I did run on purpose because I wanted to gobble my ice cream," Richard said with an innocent look, then continued in a half-whisper so that only Hadley could hear his voice. "But whether I accidentally bumped into it to ruin your appearance or not, only you know." Richard gave her a crooked smile which made the girl even more furious.

Richard walked casually back to his seat, making Hadley's heart boil even more, and she wanted to avenge the boy. She immediately stood up and marched her feet wide without realizing a rope tied her legs to the table's sturdy posts.
