Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star
Chapter 149 - Ch. 149 Kinsey's Judgment (part 1)
"Chleo, what's wrong? You look so sad." Evie realized that her cousin had become depressed since she found out that their two youngest siblings were injured.
"I am alright. I'm just disappointed in myself."
"Why?"
"If I had paid more attention to Hadley, then something like this wouldn't have happened."
"If you feel guilty about that, doesn't that mean I'm guilty too?" added Abigail. "I'm with you too, and we both didn't give our attention to Hadley."
"..." Chleo lowered her eyes as she became more dejected.
"Well, it's kind of hard to love a very annoying cousin."
Cathy giggled at Evie's sarcasm. "Hush, you can't talk like that. She's still your cousin."
"No, she's not. We're not blood-related at all."
And it's true. Chleo and Abi may still be related by blood to Ewald and his children, but Evie was the daughter of Vienna Regnz's nephew. Thus she had no kin relation with the Regnz family.
They were all chattering with each other cheerfully, forgetting the unsightly incident in the dining room a moment ago.
The room was like a hall with various facilities that could be used. There was a minibar near the balcony door where grown men could enjoy a variety of alcoholic drinks. And a sizeable smart TV mounted on the wall so that children and adults could watch movies together.
There was also a game facility next to the TV set in a multi-purpose cabinet firmly attached to the wall. There was a lego game, there were slimes, and there was also a pie face toy.
At the bottom row, there were many collections of toy cars and robots that were now a bone of contention for boys.
It wasn't long before Kinsey appeared and walked in with an unreadable expression. Kinsey went straight to Stanley, and the two had a tense conversation. After that, they called their children.
Kinsey then looked at the bruises on Moni and Meli's injury.
"I've heard what happened to you girls. Are you all right?"
Meli nodded her head while Moni answered cheerfully. "We're fine, uncle."
"In that case, good. As long as you're okay. But there is one problem. That girl," Kinsey honestly didn't want Hadley's name out of her mouth. "Want to sue your brother for what happened this evening. It looks like your brother will be punished if we do nothing."we do nothing."
The two girls who had similar facial features like twins were both frowning. It was clear they didn't like their brother being punished even though what they did was wrong. If their brother was to be punished, then the woman who had hurt them should also be punished!
"Uncle, if Richard has to be punished just because of this, will that woman also get punished?"
"Of course. Do you think I'd let her go after hurting you? Even if they decide not to punish your brother, I will still punish her."
Stanley stroked his temple slightly. Should he explain in such detail to the girls? They weren't even ten years old yet!
"Kinsey, is it okay for you to talk to them like that?"
"Why? My daughter already knows my character," said Kinsey proudly while stroking the top of Meli's head, getting her daughter's amused smile.
"Whatever you say. So what's your plan?"
Kinsey looked one by one, starting from Kendrich, Melodie then followed by the twins and Harmonie.
"I will take you to see Uncle Vincent and Grandpa Joseph." Kinsey showed his trademark grin that made the five children widen in horror. "Act like you don't know me. You too," Kinsey glanced at his two children. "Don't call me dad before I call you guys. Understand?"
Kendrich and Melodie nodded their heads while gulping nervously. It was the first time they had seen their father put on a hideous face like the villains in a children's movie they had ever seen.
"But why do we have to act as if we don't know you?" without fear, Moni was desperate to ask because she couldn't contain her curiosity.
"It will make everything more interesting."
Everyone who saw Kinsey's expression and heard the cold yet enthusiastic tone made everyone break out in cold sweat.
Oh, the greatest Kinsey Alvianc... that's too extreme for the kids to hear.
"What about Evie? Didn't she sue Evie for slapping her?" Stanley asked out of curiosity if Hadley wanted to get back at Evie too.
"She is a chicken. She only dared to fight kids. She wouldn't dare sue Evie or seek revenge on the girl. That cousin of my brother'-in-law already knows who Evie's parent is."
Stanley nodded in understanding.
"Will it be alright?" Katie was worried that a trivial matter like this could become big and ruin Cathy's good relationship and the Vincent family.
"It doesn't matter. I wouldn't interfere if they didn't touch my little girl. I'm sure Vincent and Cathy wouldn't mind."
"Meli is my little girl too." Katie's protest made Kinsey chuckle as he pulled his wife's head closer so he could give her a light kiss on the forehead.
Not long after, Kinsey led the five children to follow him while holding the tiny hands of his daughter and niece.
As soon as Kinsey and the five children disappeared, Cathy rested her chin on one hand as she let out a resigned sigh.
"Mom, is Hadley going to be all right? It seems like Uncle Kinsey is furious."
Cathy took a tuft of her daughter's hair behind her earlobe. "All fathers would be angry if someone harmed their children. Your father was also furious when you were kidnapped in the past."
"Sister Chleo was kidnapped? When?" Diego was interested in hearing his sister's story when she was kidnapped. "Who saved her?"
"It's not just Chleo. You were also kidnapped at that time."
"Me? I don't remember. When did it happen?"
Cathy chuckled lightly, seeing that her two children were very interested in the kidnapping that took place a dozen years ago in Germany. Then she told what had happened during their vacation in Germany.
Apparently, the story also attracted the attention of others and listened to it with great attention.
The teenagers and Evie were amazed by Stanley's ability to track Chleo's anklet and when Kinsey picked up Diego and caught his kidnapper.
Cathy giggled at the admiration and sparkling eyes of the children and her nieces and nephews. By now, she might be able to laugh and reminisce about those difficult times in passing.
But, at that time, Cathy and Vincent could not calm down when they heard their two children disappear.. Only Stanley, Kinsey, Tanya, Joan, and Katie understand the feeling of anxiety when they get the news that Diego, Chleo, and Meisya have disappeared because they were kidnapped.
"I am alright. I'm just disappointed in myself."
"Why?"
