Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 162 - Ch. 162 Good News

Chleo entered her office with a happy heart and renewed enthusiasm. Even though she was highly flustered this morning because her boyfriend didn't stop teasing her, she was still pleased. At least she could see the man's face when she woke up in the morning. Enjoying breakfast together and discussing trivial things, and pulling each other's legs.

Chleo took out her phone and unlocked the screen once she was

in the elevator. She smiled shyly like a girl falling in love for the first

time.

This morning before they left, Chleo asked Max to put on his sweater quickly, and she also put on her own. Then she asked the man to take a picture with her.

At first, she thought that Max didn't like being photographed, considering there weren't any photos in Max's house. Whether it's a photo of his family or himself, not a single shot was there..

It was only after questioning the butler Sam and the other servants that she found out that Max didn't like being photographed.

At first, Chleo was asking him to take a picture together just for fun. If he refused, Chleo wouldn't force him. But as it turned out, the

young man accepted it! Chleo felt very happy and quite satisfied with the response.

She thought Max couldn't make a pose in front of the camera, but the man proved her wrong.

Max could follow her silly pose when posing. Like the style of pouting her lips like a duck's mouth or doing cute expressions using cat-style movements.

Who would have thought that Max was so good at posing in front of

the camera?

The elegant macho form, the cute style like a child, as well as

the casual style like an average person, Max could do it all perfectly! Even Chleo herself, who loved to pose in front of the camera, lost her air with this man.

Really! Maximillian was the perfect great man she had never met.

The man could do everything, and there was nothing he couldn't do.

He could adapt quickly to new environments and people from cooking, taking beautiful pictures, and communicating with anyone regardless of age. It would be very hard not to like the man because Max was such an intelligent person with a broad perspective to match any topic discussed.

Ah, how could she be so lucky to meet someone as exceptional as Max?

Luckily Max was just an ordinary person. Otherwise, she might have to compete with other women who had her eyes on Max.

Even now, Chleo still hesitated to introduce Max to her college

friends. She was afraid that her friends would fall for Max and try to seduce him. She was worried that Max wouldn't be interested in her anymore, so she didn't dare to let Max pick her up directly on campus.

She didn't mind if Max visited her here in the office. The average

lady who worked here was old and married. Furthermore, they wouldn't care about Max's luxury car to pick her up as they believed Max rented it somewhere.

Too bad our main character was so naive. Though Chleo was brilliant, sometimes she was hopelessly clueless toward surrounding her. There were already so many clues that Max had given Chleo.

A big mansion in the neighborhoods, a luxury car with an auto-drive program, as well as a white gold bracelet of the highest quality as a Christmas present.

Max deliberately gave a lot of hints and waited for her to ask about him. Unfortunately, Chleo was completely unsuspecting and blindly believed all of those did not belong to Max. The only way to make Chleo recognize Max as a wealthy person so that he could match

the Regnz and Alvianc's resources were to go to the extreme.

This 'extreme' thing was the gift that Max has prepared for Chleo

using the excuse of a late new year's gift.

Ting!

The elevator door that Chleo was in opened. Chleo quickly

put her phone back and greeted the seniors of her co-workers.

"Good morning, every..." then she realized there were only

Xavier and Mrs. Montgomery were there. Chleo sealed her lips instantly and acted appropriately.

It was still seven in the morning, so no one had come

except Mrs. Montgomery and her assistants.

The standard entry time for full-time employees was nine o'clock,

while the division head and his assistants must arrive early to hold a brief meeting with the division director.

Come to think of it, why did Xavier ask her to come at seven in

the morning? It's not like she's going to attend the division heads' meeting.

Not long after, Jaydn greeted her and then walked to the pantry to make a coffee. His greeting made Xavier and the older woman notice her presence.

"Chleo, you're here. Come here. I have good news for you." called Xavier.

Good news? Then why the look on Mrs. Montgomery so cynical of her?

Does the older woman still not like her? What had she done to make her hate her so much?

Chleo took a deep breath to strengthen her mentality. If only Mrs.

Montgomery wasn't here, she could relax and calm down. But because that woman there was watching all her movement, Chleo couldn't help but be wary in her manner. She repeatedly reminded herself not to make mistakes that the other party could use as an opening to fire her.

"Look at this." Xavier handed her a tablet that showed a lot of images.

Chleo stood sideways, avoiding the woman's position and hiding behind Xavier's body. Chleo felt restless if a pair of hostile eyes probed her without knowing the cause of her hostility.

Chleo didn't care, and she wasn't afraid either. But for some reason, she felt nauseous whenever someone looked at her with those menacing eyes.

Chleo began to feel calm and could now focus on her task. She

looked at the display of images on the tablet and winced as she recognized some of the pictures.

With trembling hands, she scrolled down to show the other images

with widened mouth

"Th… this…"
