Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star
Chapter 185 - Ch. 185 Back To Netherland
"Diego, did you know that there is a blue king in this world?"
"Not only the blue king, but I also know Aunt Katie was the red queen."
"You remembered it?"
Back when Chleo and her family went on vacation to Germany to visit Katie, she vaguely overheard an adult's conversation saying Katie was the red queen and so on. At that time, Diego was still very young and couldn't even speak fluently, so she didn't think Diego would remember something from years ago.
"A little." Diego had no recollection of the kidnapping or anything when they were in Germany. He only remembered events that had happened in his previous life.
And Diego remembered, his father had told him that Katie, the red queen, had given a life energy transfusion to Chleo in exchange for her life. That's where he found out the existence of the red king. But he had no idea that there were other rulers besides the red queen.
Only after returning to this new life did he learn that four rulers lived here all over the world.
"Then do you know the blue king is?" Chleo asked curiously.
"I know. That's why I asked him for help when I found out that you were gone. So what happened? What do you mean you almost died?"
"That..." Chleo told her brother everything, including being tied up and given a blindfold, which made her almost fall to death from the Flex group building.
Hearing Chleo's explanation made Diego's jaw tighten and his hands clenched until his nails pierced into his flesh.
Diego didn't expect a creature from another realm to be so eager to take Chleo's life. What exactly did they want by killing Chleo? Was there someone who hated Chleo so much that he ordered his Vectis to kill his sister?
Who hates his sister? Chleo was not an annoying person, nor did she like to cause trouble. On the other hand, Chleo was a loveable person to made anyone want to befriend her.
And was this Vectis also the same culprit as the poison expert in his previous life?
If the culprit was Vectis, it explained why Stanley and Yuna couldn't trace his whereabouts.
"It's a good thing Max came in time. Otherwise, my head might have split." continued Chleo ending her story. "Now I'm fine. I hope she wouldn't mess around again."
"She? You know the culprit?"
"Hmm. She just came here a while ago."
"Who?"
"Her name is Ashley Grey. She's been making things difficult for me for these few months for a reason I don't know."
Ashley Grey? But... wasn't she Chleo's best friend in the past? Why would Ashley Grey hate Chleo?
A lot of changes, and Diego didn't know how much greater the difference was.
"Sis, I don't know if this person named Ashley is your kidnapper or not, but think about it. How is it possible for you to arrive in New York, especially at Papa's company building, in less than two hours? That is so impossible."
"Oh, you're right. I haven't thought about that yet."
"There is only one possibility. The person who had kidnapped you was no ordinary human. It could be a person who has a power similar to the rulers of nature." like Vectis. Added Diego inside his heart. "You'd better be careful."
"I think you're right." Chleo took a deep breath hearing that. "You don't think Ashley is an ordinary human?"
She is an ordinary human as far as he remembered. "Who knows. I'll try to investigate it."
Chleo blinked a few times, trying to digest her brother's words.
Diego will investigate it? How does he do it? What can a teenage boy like Diego do to investigate a kidnapping case?
Chleo couldn't help but giggle at her dear brother.
"What's so funny?"
"You're funny. I know you won't be of much help, but thanks for comforting me. I don't think I need to be afraid anymore."
Diego bit his lip, realizing his carelessness.
Diego was just a sixteen-year-old snot. But instead, he acted like an adult who already knew the ins and outs of the awful reality. Diego scratched his non-itchy head awkwardly, then clapped his hands once when he remembered something.
"I almost forgot. We have to go to Washington now!"
"Ha? Why?" although Chleo was confused by her brother's hasty manner, she let Diego take her hand and headed straight out to the bus stop.
"Uncle Stanley and his fam will return to Netherland. I came here to pick you so we can escort them together."
"What time will the flight depart?"
"They said at five... about three and a half hours."
Chleo and Diego arrived at Washington airport precisely at three. Diego immediately contacted his family to inquire about their position at the airport. Chleo just followed Diego and dashed to her family as soon as she saw the faces of her father and mother.
Chleo directly hugged her mother from behind, making Cathy shocked half to death.
"Good grief, Chleo. You almost gave me a heart attack."
Chleo giggled without letting go of her hand.
"It's quite unfair, don't you think? It was me who is leaving, but why does it seem like Chleo doesn't want to let Cathy go?"
Everyone laughed at Stanley's teasing of Chleo while Chleo just stuck her tongue out while laughing.
Last night when she fell from the Flex corp building, Chleo thought she would never see her family again. That's why she was very grateful to be able to meet the people she cherished again.
Melodie and Harmonie pressed their cheeks against each other while hugging as if they were reluctant to part.
"Can't Meli come with us?" sulked Moni by pouting her lips, making Katie laugh amused.
"We will visit you during summer vacation. Will you be satisfied?"
"Really? You're coming?"
Meli and Moni looked at Kinsey with sparkling eyes as they knew the one who granted Katie's suggestion was Kinsey. Kinsey had no plans for a vacation to Europe for this summer. Instead, he wanted to take his family on vacation to Asia rather than Europe. But since his wife had said she would visit them, he had to change his plans.
The only one who could conquer a Kinsey Alvianc in this world was his wife, Katalina Alvianc.
"You heard her. We'll come next summer."
"Yeah!!!" Moni exclaimed happily while jumping up and down, followed by Meli without letting go of their embrace.
"Why don't you guys just get on one of our private planes?" Vincent asked curiously.
"That's okay. We'll take a normal one."
Stanley did not dare to take a private plane. Diego had told him that the one who kidnapped Chleo yesterday was one of the Vectis. Yesterday he risked getting his daughter to use her abilities to track Chleo's whereabouts.
If this Vectis found out the identity of the current yellow king, there was a slight chance it would target little Harmonie. He didn't want to take the risk where Vectis would attack his family on the private plane where only a few humans on board.
On the other hand, if he were to board a plane with more than a hundred passengers on board, Vectis would not dare to strike. Because once a Vectis commits murder on a large scale, one of the rulers of another dimension would appear to finish off the Vectis.
For now, being in a crowd of people was much safer than isolating his family in a secluded place.
Even if they wanted to prolong their vacation in the united states, Harmonie couldn't stay.
Harmonie had told him there was a blue king in America, and he remembered that blue and yellow energies were contradictory. Even though it wasn't much of a contrast, his daughter could get sick if she was too close to the blue king's power.
Living in Washington alone had given his daughter a fever the first day they came to Washington because the blue king lived in the same state.
That's why Stanley wanted to return to Netherland as soon as possible, even though their return schedule was a few days later.
After saying goodbye to each other, Stanley took his wife and three children to enter the gate. Before approaching her father, Moni came to Chleo and asked her elder sister to hug her.
Chleo complied and bent down to hug the little girl.
"Sister Chleo," Moni whispered in Chleo's ear while making sure no one heard her voice by controlling the wind around her. "If one day you get lost, shout as loud as you can. Just once but loudly."
Moni let go of her arms and smiled sweetly at her, while Chleo looked at her with a confused look.
"Don't forget." continued Moni while cupping Chleo's face with her tiny hands and then giving Chleo a short peck on the cheek.
"Oh, that's unfair. Why only sister Chleo got a kiss?" protested Kenken, inviting laughter from adults.
In the end, Moni gave each of her cousins a kiss on the cheek and her uncle and aunt. After that, they left and returned to their sweet home.
"Not only the blue king, but I also know Aunt Katie was the red queen."
