Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Max had returned to his astral world a few hours ago. Now, only Chleo and Ashley were lying on the bed in silence.

Chleo looked at the bracelet Max had given her. Max gave him a platinum bracelet that had a signal transmitter. Max told him the bracelet was from her uncle so Diego could track her easily once he arrived at the airport.

They just hoped that Diego could get there soon before the black people discovered them again.

When Harmonie told Stanley about Chleo's condition, Stanley told Diego, and Diego immediately reached Max.

In the end, without revealing Max's identity as the blue king or Harmonie's identity as the yellow king, the three of them secretly work together to save Chleo.

Currently, Diego asked Yuna for help to go to Africa secretly and make a reasonable excuse so that neither of the Regnz and Miyazaki suspects anything. Yuna was starting to feel uneasy because her Vectis hadn't appeared in the past few days even though she had called him repeatedly.

To Diego and Yuna's knowledge, Vectis Yuna was assigned to guarding Chleo during the trip to the Great Falls. But since that day, the Vectis did not appear for several days until the camping program ended, but his sister was nowhere to be seen. Knowing this fact made Diego even more convinced that the person after his sister was indeed Vectis.

He only got word from Stanley that somehow Chleo was no longer in America but Africa. Hearing this shocking, terrible news, Diego promptly cooperated with Yuna and immediately left for Africa with several of Yuna's confidants.

Since they didn't know when Vectis Yuna would appear again or not, Diego ordered Yuna to bring along some of his formidable bodyguards to protect the girl in case they met an unexpected enemy.

Diego did not take any bodyguards to avoid the suspicion of his family. He only brought helper Miyu and a particular communication device that directly connected him to Stanley.

Stanley also helped him by contacting one of his former fellow hackers who live in Africa. That way, Diego and Yuna didn't need to communicate with the residents without getting confused with their language.

While Diego and others were on the plane, it was late at night, and neither Chleo nor Ashley felt sleepy. Maybe they had slept too long before that now their eyelids refused to close. The silence between them was so tense it made it hard for both of them to breathe.

Chleo loved to chat and always had something to say on her mind. Likewise with Ashley, who also likes to talk and gossip.

But now, two energetic, talkative girls suddenly fell silent as if there were no humans in the room.

Chleo fiddled with her platinum bracelet, stroking it with her thumb, wondering when her brother would come. While Ashley fiddled with her fingers as if she was tearing a large piece of paper into small pieces.

Unable to stand the silence and darkness due to the lack of light, Chleo decided to speak first. After all, she was the one who made their conversation this afternoon so tense. So she should have started the conversation first and apologized for her rude attitude.

"About this afternoon, I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry that I suspected you. From now on, I will no longer suspect you." Chleo continued when she didn't get any response from the girl lying next to her.

"Apology accepted. Besides, I can understand why you suspect me in the first place. I don't blame you."

"But… what made you change your mind? I mean… you didn't like me so much before, but why are you crying and worrying about me?"

"I told you, I was crying because…."

"I know you're lying. You always scratch your neck and take your eyes off the person you're talking to every time you lie. Also, I can hear your crying voice."

Ashley got up from her bed and glanced at Chleo in annoyance. "So you're actually conscious, but you pretend you're dead??"

Chleo's brow furrowed at this unreasonable accusation. "You think I can move in such a state? My head was banging everywhere, and my whole body ached all over. How can I move in such a state?"

Chleo also got up and sat opposite Ashley with her arms folded in front of her chest.

"Oh, I thought you couldn't feel pain considering I couldn't find any wounds on your skin. Not only your body but look…." Ashley showed her hands which should also have been injured but now look smooth and clean like baby skin. "I'm not hurt either. Is it a dream? Or maybe what we've been experiencing all this time is a hallucination? Chleo, you accuse me of causing all this, but what about you? Maybe you're the one who brought us here. But it could be you who hate me so much that you repay me in such a vile way."

Chleo snorted harshly when she heard Ashley accusing her. "At least I never intended to kidnap you at all!"

"But you intend to leave me here alone with your lover's superpower! Look me in the eye if it's not true!"

"..." Chleo couldn't refute it. She had thought about leaving Ashley alone in this strange place. "You started it first." she continued without wanting to give up in the slightest. "If you hadn't had someone kidnap me, I wouldn't have thought about leaving you here either."

"…"

For a moment, the two of them looked into each other's eyes to see who turned away first. But both of them were stubborn, and neither wished to budge. In the end, they both snorted in unison and then lay back down, facing the opposite direction.

Chleo faced right while Ashley faced left, making their backs face each other.

Both of them closed their eyes, trying to sleep while calming their emotional turmoil. Their heartbeats were still rhythmic, indicating that their anger had not subsided. But they still couldn't fall asleep, and each of them contemplated evil thoughts against the other.

Silence filled the room again for a few minutes, and their previously exploding emotions began to recede.

Ashley reflected on everything she did to Chleo when she belittled and intended to kidnap the girl. She regretted it, and her remorse began to devour her from inside. If only time could be reversed, Ashley wouldn't have hindered Chleo. Maybe now she could be good friends with Chleo.

For some reason, Ashley had a strong desire to befriend this black-haired girl. Now she regretted her past deeds, but she couldn't do anything about it either.

Chleo already thought of her as an evil person, and there was no way they could develop a friendship bond.

Without realizing it, tears dripped from one eye made her wonder. Was she this discouraged, knowing she couldn't be friends with Chleo?
