Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 271 - Ch. 271 A Test From Max (part 2)

Chleo's grip on Max's shirt tightened as if he was afraid Max would push her to death.

"Are you thinking I'm going to let you go?"

Chleo didn't answer, and she just sobbed in front of the young man's chest. Neither did she argue because what this man said was true.

She had thought Max was going to hurt her. She had thought this man would let her go and let her die to get his revenge.

"This is why I can't believe you, Chleo. If the one by your side right now were Alexis, you wouldn't be this scared. You said you love me, but your heart feels more secure with Alexis. You've given all of your everything to Alexis."

"Sob… no. That's not true. Sob… I love you." Chleo tightened her grip even more.

"I've told you before. The Chleo in this life did love me. But everything would be different once your previous life's memory submerged. You still have Alexis in your heart, and all you feel right now is guilt over me. You don't love me as much as I love you. We'd better end this suffering. Neither of us would be happy if this goes on."

"..." Chleo couldn't answer as she was now deep in her thoughts.

Now she understood what made them feel so distant. Chleo realized she had given everything to Alexis back then, and she gave her heart, soul, and complete trust to the young man.

But why couldn't she give Maximillian the same?

Chleora in this life could give it without a doubt, but why couldn't she? As soon as her memories returned, her heart quivered as if she was enveloped in a doubt that she couldn't resist.

No wonder the man always restrained himself whenever he was with her. No wonder the man always felt restless as if afraid of losing her.

Chleo still hasn't given her heart completely. The chasm between them was not because of Max's actions but her stupid, thoughtless, heartless thinking that made her unable to take the next step.

If she wanted to close the gulf between them, Chleo had to return to herself before her memories returned. Chleo had to let her feelings as Chleora Regnz, who lived in this world, erase all the bad memories and traumas she had in the past.

After all, the Chleo of the past was gone. All that happened was just history she had to keep in her memory book. She cannot forget it, but she must not let it dwell in a past life.

With great difficulty, Chleo suppressed her crying.

"I understand." there was no more fear or doubt in her voice. "I'm sorry for making you suffer all this time."

"What are you doing?" Max frowned as he felt Chleo's hands loosen her grip on his waist.

"I will prove it to you."

Chleo spread her arms out to the side and pushed herself back. Chleo closed her eyes, letting her body be pulled by gravity.

Unexpectedly, dropping from a height wasn't as scary as she thought. Especially now that she felt two strong arms embracing her protectively, what should she be afraid of?

She knew as long as this man was by her side, Max would not let her get hurt. But Chleo was too traumatized by this man's threat, and she was too frightened of the blue king's true power. Because of that, she couldn't act freely every time she was with this man.

It was her trauma that kept her away from her husband. She didn't know that an invisible wall had formed separating the two since her memory returned.

For the first time since her memory returned, Chleo smiled broadly. It was the first time she won dealt with the trauma and fear she had experienced in a previous life.

Chleora Regnz's two conflicting souls were now completely fused for the first time she woke up and got all her memories. She had nothing to worry about as long as this man was by her side.

A second later, Chleo glanced around and realized they were now in one of the rooms in this man's house in his astral world.

Chleo didn't even act embarrassed or panicked when she realized their ambiguous position. They both lay on the bed with her beneath the furious Blue King.

"HAVE YOU GONE MAD?! WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!"

Instead of feeling scared, Chleo answered it in a cheerful tone.

"Because I know you will save me in time. I told you, I have complete trust in you." Her two eyes shone like a vast galaxy. Her cheeks were flushed red, and her lips curved into a charming smile. Her current expression was exactly as he remembered when they first met at the Seattle airport.

This is his Chleo. This girl was Chleo, who only saw him as her only one.

"Chleo," he called hoarsely. The way he called Chleo's name filled with love and affection made Chleo's heart flutter.

Stupid Chleo! She knew this man loved her with all his heart and soul. But what he needed from her wasn't just her attention, and he desired her heart the most.

That's why Chleo gave it. She would not remember the past where she was afraid of the power of the blue king. On the contrary, she would adore him and worship him.

The only thing Max wanted from her was not to feel anxious or scared whenever they were alone. For Max, Chleo's laughter and happiness were also the sources of his happiness.

But Max couldn't be happy if Chleo wasn't happy. And Chleo wouldn't truly be happy as long as she was afraid of Max.

"It doesn't matter whether you are Axelard or Maximillian, no matter whether you are the blue king or not, to me, you are my only ice prince," stated Chleo softly while wiping the tears that were now dripping from the corners of Max's eyes.

Chleo also felt the man's cold hands tremble against her skin, but she didn't erase the gentle smile on her face.

Just like when the man looked at her with a million love, Chleo also looked at the man as if he was the only one in her heart.

"I've been waiting for this for so long."

"What?"

"This," Max answered by kissing the pair of Chleo's lips that he coveted.

The kiss was very passionate, as if Max was pouring out all his feelings on the kiss. Chleo accepted the man's outpouring of love with a happy heart, and she also returned the kiss with the same favor.

Max lifted his face slightly to break their kiss and whispered in a soft tone that could melt Chleo's heart.

"I love you." Max pressed their foreheads together, causing happy smiles on their faces as if this was the first time they had ever understood true happiness.

The moment between them was perfect, and Max wouldn't have traded it for anything if Chleo hadn't ruined it with her following declaration.

"Are we going to do it?"

"Do what?"

"Sex."

"..."

That obviously wasn't what Max was thinking at the moment.
