Ice Prince: Rewrite The Star

Chapter 54 - Ch. 54 Chleo's Favor To Her Father

"Can I ask you a question? What are they doing there?" Chleo asked, pointing at the young people who looked seriously reading something. It was like a book file.

"They are waiting to be called for an interview."

"Interview?"

"That's right. They are from various universities who passed the first selection to get an internship opportunity here for three months."

"Ooo, I see. All right, thanks."

The receptionist replied with a friendly smile.

Chleo walked towards the crowd of young people and tried to blend in among them. She investigated the situation and waited for a few minutes.

She found an opening to infiltrate among the young people who were about to be summoned. A coordinator will call ten to fifteen people at a time. Without counting the exact number that passed, the coordinator let whoever rose to their feet and got into the elevator.

Chleo took advantage of this opportunity in the next roll. She estimated the number to be summoned then sneaked in in the midst of the crowd while pretending she was the one being called.

The plan worked, the coordinator didn't realize it, and she was lucky that the coordinator didn't get into the elevator.

As soon as the elevator opened on a specific floor, another person greeted them and then led them through a corridor with glass windows on their left. Then they were all told to wait and sit back and relax in a room until their names were called for an interview session.

In the middle of the journey, Chleo slowed her pace and secretly slipped to the emergency exit.

Chleo climbed the stairs to the top floor with quick steps where she was sure her father's office was.

Once at the top, Chleo slowly opened the emergency door and walked out with light steps.

Despite climbing so many stairs, Chleo didn't feel tired. Her breathing was not out of breath, as if running around like this was her daily meal.

Since childhood, she has had great stamina to match the boys. Even though she was already a teenager, her energy was still as great as when she was a child.

She participated in various clubs at her school, such as dance clubs, swimming clubs, taekwondo clubs, and various other clubs that drain her energy. She even learned how to escape through the locked door in case she was kidnapped again.

Chleo grew up to be a cheerful, energetic, and fearless girl about the new challenges she encounters, yet she still hated being in the spotlight.

She didn't know why but she felt relentless every time she stood at the center of the spotlight. It felt like she was vulnerable, and everyone could see her weak spot.

Chleo walked carefully without making a sound as she headed towards the large door where her father's study was.

She even bowed as she passed her father's secretary's desk so the secretary wouldn't notice her presence.

Then very slowly, Chleo opened the door to her father's office, went inside in still bent over before closing it again.

Relieved that she was finally safe in her father's workroom, Chleo breathed a sigh of relief. Then she turned around and gasped when a pair of jet-black eyes stared at her probingly.

No way… how did she get caught??

Chleo laughed nervously while scratching her non-itchy head.

"Hahaha, dad. I thought you still had a meeting."

"I'm just finished. Why are you here? I thought you don't like coming here. Besides, why are you sneaking around like that? And... shouldn't you be at school by now??" Thousands of questions came out of Vincent's mouth while glancing at his watch, which still showed 11 am.

"Hahahaha..." Chleo could only answer her father's question by offering him a nervous laugh.

"Don't do it again." Vincent's orders were referring to his daughter's actions of sneaking like a thief.

"But it was fun!"

"Try to do that at your uncle's company. You'll definitely be caught and taken to the police station."

"Eh?"

"You think the cameras wouldn't catch your suspicious figure? The security guard immediately called my secretary. Luckily he recognized you and let you in."

"Awww.. so I was caught from the start."

"Are you a thief?"

"I'm not a thief, but I'm your little princess."

Vincent shook his head in defeat at his precious daughter's overconfident remark. He began to regret letting his daughter spend a lot of time at the Kinsey house. As time went on, his eldest daughter became more and more like Kinsey.

"So, what are you doing here? You even skipped school."

"Hehehe. To tell you the truth..."

Chleo opened up about her wishes to her father. She wanted to enroll in university without using the Regnz surname.

It must be nice if she could find a friend who didn't know her background. Plus, Chleo wishes to study at Seattle University, which is quite a distance from New York.

The further away the city is, the more people won't recognize her.

Furthermore, Chleo got word that by winning an art competition in Washington, she would get a full scholarship in the first two semesters.

She knew her father would not allow her to live alone outside New York. She also promised her Ice Prince not to leave her father's wings, so she chose Seattle, Washington DC on purpose. Her mother's cousin, Uncle Darrell, lived in Washington and was quite close to her father.

If there were someone her father trust who could protect Chleo in Seattle, she was sure that her father would give his permission. Or so she thought.

"No, I will not allow it. Not in this lifetime," stated Vincent, firmly making Chleora sulk.

Chleo had no idea that her father would quickly reject her in such a firm manner without letting her finish why she wanted to go to Washington so badly.

"Dad, come on. You said I could choose the university I fancy."

Vincent did not force Chleo to study his business because he had planned to let his youngest son take over his position in the future.

He knew Chleo had never been interested in business and was more interested in drawing. That's why he will support his daughter's dream and let her choose the university she wants.

However, he never thought that his precious daughter would choose a campus elsewhere than New York.

It seemed… he was giving her too much leeway.
