If We Got Married

2 and a half hours before the incident

The clock strikes 6 am. That means Chang Wook is late. He jumps off the bed and hurries to take a shower.

"Aaahhh!" the water was freezing. The guy from upstairs must have used all the hot water again "That freaking bastard. I'm gonna get pneumonia one of these days because of him" Chang Wook yells so the guy upstairs can hear him, even though he knows well that the guy isn't there. That's why he can yell with confidence.

After the shower he gets dressed in a black suit and only takes a banana as breakfast, he can't arrive after the bosswoman, if not he'll never hear the end of it and the promotion he's been wishing for, for so many years will go down the drain.

He goes to the private parking lot where his car is but with his luck, it doesn't turn on "Come on! Really? You're going to do this to me today? Mother effing Christ!" he yells as he hits the steering wheel. He looks up and see the old lady from his same floor a few doors down. He composes himself and does the cross sign on his chest and looks up "With all due respect, of course"

He gets out of the car. Now, he has to run. The bus just took off, so he has to pay extra for a freaking taxi "This is just not my day, is it?" he says to himself, reaching out his hand for a taxi that was coming his way.

The taxi stops at Friends Café, a place near his workplace, which is also a place where his boss tells him to stop every morning for her coffee. He arrives inside and sees a huge line. He only has 10 minutes left!

"Chang Wook!" He looks at the girl with the ponytail, next to the cash register. She waves at him, placing two cups of coffee on the counter. The people on the line seem to protest but he doesn't have time to apologize.

"Two caramel macchiatos with soy milk and whipped cream" she said.

"You are a life saver" he told her. She looks down and smiles.

"Good luck with the boss" she said "And this one is specifically yours" Chang Wook didn't understand what she meant by that, but he didn't have the time to ask. He looked at his watch and he had 7 minutes left.

Arriving at the office place, while walking down the hallway he bumps into a guy with a cart full of papers. His suit is ruined.

"I'm sorry" the guy says and runs away from the scene of the crime.

Chang Wook goes to one of the many cubicles on the floor reaching his best friend, Yong Chul. They've been friends since Chang Wook started in the company, they both started at the same time but while Yong Chul went on to work in editing, Chang Wook became the bosswoman's assistant.

"What happened to you?" Yong Chul asks with a chuckle.

"I need your shirt" Chang Wook says with a dark expression, he has no time to lose. He has 5 minutes left.

"What?"

"You heard me"

"No"

Chang Wook sighs, he hoped he wouldn't have to use them "Baseball game, two tickets, this weekend, front row seats you can almost smell the sweat" he said. Yong Chul looked at him surprised but he still hadn't answered.


"It's on its way Yong Chul, I need your help!" Chang Wook was pleading this time.
