Cyberpunk: I didn't cheat.

One second Pila was joking and being friendly with herself, and now she is a headless corpse.
Lucy's body tensed suddenly, and she instinctively reached out and pressed down hard on David, who was standing frozen beside her. For the first time, a chilling coldness and fear surged in her usually calm eyes, and her fingertips trembled slightly uncontrollably.
Dorio stood frozen in place, the joy of his recent victory completely gone, leaving only utter coldness and bewilderment.
The cigarette between Qi Wei's fingers had long since fallen to the ground and gone out. She squinted her eyes slightly, and even in her eyes, which had been filled with nightclubs for many years and had seen life and death, there was a trace of unspeakable heaviness.
Mann was struck dumb.
He stared blankly at Pila lying in a pool of blood not far away, at that body that would never again laugh and discuss prosthetics with everyone, praise modifications, or share happiness. It felt as if a shard of ice had been forcibly stuffed into his chest, making it painful to breathe.
These are his teammates, his family who have protected him and walked alongside him all the way.
There was no warning, no conflict, no grudge.
Just a well-intentioned curiosity, a careless question, and a vibrant life was crushed by this city.
At the top of the container, the late-stage cyberpsychotic was still in a daze.
He seemed completely unaware that he had just killed an innocent person with his own hands. He maintained his crooked posture, with exposed mechanical wires hissing and emitting chaotic electrical sparks. His reddened prosthetic eyes were unfocused and lifeless, and he repeatedly muttered broken, obscure, and incomprehensible ravings.
He raised his hand, lowered it, and swayed his body, his movements mechanical yet insane. For him, killing was nothing more than an unconscious instinct, the cheapest way to vent his anger after his mind was eroded by his prosthetic body.
"asshole!"
A fragmented, hoarse sound, accompanied by extreme trembling, pierced the deathly silence.
It's Rebecca.
The petite girl stood at the back of the crowd, her once bright eyes now completely shrouded in a crimson hue.
She looked at the glaring blood on the ground, at Pira who would never open her eyes again, and at the unrepentant, still insane killer.
The emotions that had been building up instantly crumbled.
While everyone was still reeling from the sudden grief and shock, Rebecca suddenly raised her hand.
She pulled out the novice pistol from the Gunslinger's Club and emptied the magazine at the Cyber Madman.
Vito wasn't exaggerating; the pistols he sold, equipped with specialized bullets, could indeed pierce military-grade prosthetics.
But this cyber madman feels no pain, no fear. He doesn't care that bullets are hitting his body. As long as his cybernetic body can still move, he can kill instinctively.
Rebecca dropped her pistol that fired photons; she needed a more powerful weapon. She lunged at her weapon case, which contained an Ajax rifle.
This gun, which Rebecca acquired during Gunfire Kids, is extremely powerful with its tungsten bullets. Now, this gun is key to killing the Cyber Madman and to avenging her brother.
Ta-da ...
The intense gunfire suddenly erupted.
Rebecca pulled the trigger, and the modified Ajax unleashed a torrent of fire, countless bullets raining down like a storm.
Her body trembled slightly from the intense recoil, but the muzzle of the gun remained firmly locked on the target, without the slightest deviation.
The bullet slammed into the cyber-psychotic's body, tearing apart his disordered prosthetics, shattering exposed tubing, and smashing his grotesque mechanical components.
Sparks flew from shattered metal, shattered parts, and splattered engine oil, all accompanied by a cloud of blood mist.
She showed no mercy, no pause, and no pity whatsoever.
At this moment, she no longer cared about reason, rules, or consequences.
All she knew was that her bastard brother, the brother who always liked to say he was emotional and overly sentimental, the brother who had grown up with her since childhood and depended on her for survival, had just died right before her eyes for no reason, in this damn city.
Night City doesn't reason, so she'll use bullets to tell her own story.
The container was riddled with holes by a barrage of bullets, its metal sheets deformed and collapsed, and debris and rubble rained down everywhere.
Cyber psychopath couldn't even scream. His body convulsed and shattered under the brutal firepower, turning into a pile of broken machinery and flesh.
Rebecca's shooting continued unabated.
Her eyes were red, tears mixed with anger rolled down her cheeks, her finger gripped the trigger tightly, venting her grief and raging fury again and again.
Mann stared at Rebecca, who was firing wildly out of control, and at Pira, who lay silently in a pool of blood. His Adam's apple bobbed violently, and all the words he wanted to say were ultimately suppressed by a heavy, powerless feeling in his chest.

The sound of an empty magazine being emptied came, but Rebecca was still gripping the trigger tightly, her fingertips turning white from the force.
Mann stepped forward and pried Rebecca's hands off, at which point Rebecca burst into tears.
"Rebecca..."
Suddenly, an unexpected change occurred. Mann instinctively shoved Rebecca, and a heavy bullet struck the Ajax rifle, instantly turning Ajax into scrap metal.
"Conceal!"
Mann tumbled behind the container with Rebecca in his arms. He looked up and saw yet another cyber madman with bloodshot eyes.
His face was covered with the Vortex Gang's signature multiple prosthetic eyes. His entire body had been modified, and those two organs, which could no longer be called hands, were holding a heavy machine gun that looked like it had been forcibly removed from a turret, which was firing indiscriminately in this direction.
David reacted quickly, dodging behind a wall to avoid being exposed to the heavy machine gun's line of fire. As soon as he peeked out, he saw Lucy behind a dumpster, with the Cyber Madman's gun slowly sweeping towards her.
David did not hesitate. He drew the short, sharp, and deadly pistol that Vito had given him and activated the S.A.W.S.
He fired as he charged toward Lucy, the near-time-stopping effect of the military-grade Svensstein allowing him to bring Lucy to a relatively safe place before the Cybermaniac's gun was aimed at them.
Several heavy bullets hit the road, kicking up debris. David was hit by the debris, and his body, which had no subcutaneous armor, began to bleed.
Mann's team was in trouble. Although they started to fight back, they weren't on a mission tonight, and no one except Rebecca had brought any high-powered weapons.
After Mann's last ejection grenade was detonated in mid-air, he decided to leap out of cover in a desperate attempt to buy time for his teammates to escape.
Chapter 50 The Lord Doesn't Care
Mann pinned the out-of-control Rebecca to the ground and yelled at her.
"Quick! Kivy, Dorio, you two take her away! I'll distract that madman and rescue David and Lucy!"
Everyone understood what going out at this moment meant. Mann didn't care about his own sacrifice; he had the most prosthetics on the team, and he believed he should step forward.
Dorio, as Mann's lover, was in so much pain that she could hardly breathe, but she couldn't let things fall apart; she had to hold the team together at this crucial moment.
Dorio used the opening in the machine gun fire to rush over to Mann's side and take over restraining the emotionally distraught Rebecca.
Qiwei tried her best to sabotage Cyber Madman's prosthetic body, but with little effect. Qiwei reactivated Cyber Madman's prosthetic eye, but the guy seemed determined to keep pulling the trigger in that direction.
“David! Kass Awynn, bring Lucy here!”
Mann pulled out his pistol and fired to draw fire, while simultaneously signaling to David.
Upon receiving the order, David decisively reactivated the Sinweistan. He held Lucy tightly with his left arm and fired the short and powerful Ghostbane repeatedly at the Cyber Madman with his right hand.

With his ammunition exhausted, the pistol bullets were flying dangerously after only fifty meters. David could only pray that he would be hit by a bullet, otherwise Mann would be torn to shreds by the concentrated fire of the heavy machine gun.
Perhaps the heavens heard David's prayer, for the bullet struck the cyber madman's prosthetic eye, and he tilted his head so that the gun was pointed at the sky.
The squad members reunited, and thankfully, none of the survivors were directly hit by bullets.
Just as the team was preparing to retreat, they spotted a strange figure on their escape route.
David stared blankly at the shadow over there, muttering to himself.
"Another cyber lunatic?"
As a veteran, Mann had seen many big scenes, but today he couldn't help but feel a little scared. The source of it all came from that person who was almost a legend in the city.
"It's a blockhead!"
Dorio handed Rebecca over to Keeway, who was also prepared to fight to the death to open a way out for her teammates.
……
After executing the armored vehicle, Vito began to stroll along the street, the creaking sound of the old Thunderway always bothering him.
But he had to drive the car back and put it back in its original place, because it might be the only car owned by a family struggling on the front lines of Night City's killing spree.
Vito strolled along the street to clear his head. He began to realize that his bloodlust was growing stronger. Just as Jack had said, he was now like a machine, and his nighttime actions were often just killing for the sake of killing.
It seems we need to improve our engineering capabilities and collect materials as soon as possible to research and manufacture prosthetic capacity chips. Our UI interface may be a bit inaccurate.
Just then, Vito heard gunshots. The gunfire was still some distance away, so he didn't pay much attention. It could be a gang fight, a robbery, or even a premeditated attack.
In Night City, it would be strange if you didn't hear gunfire one day.
Ta-da-da-da-da!
After a burst of pistol shots, another burst of Ajax rifle shots rang out.
Vito was a weapons expert, and he could tell that the Ajax had been modified, and most likely by his own hand.
He immediately became interested and wanted to see who had his gun and what they were doing with it.
He ran quickly toward the direction of the gunfire, but the gunfire stopped, indicating that the battle was over.
"Hmph, my gun solved the problem as soon as it was fired. It's truly a walking advertisement."
Vito slowed his pace.
Boom!
dong dong dong dong!
Suddenly, the sound of heavy machine guns rang out. Vito realized that the problem might not be so simple. Although Night City loved to draw their guns, there weren't many madmen like him who dragged around a .31 heavy machine gun.
Vito quickened his pace again and rushed toward the source of the gunfire.
Upon approaching, Vito saw Mann's team. Mann was drawing fire to give David and Lucy a chance to escape.
In a moment of urgency, Vito raised the Punishment and fired a shot at Cybermaniac, who was firing a heavy machine gun. The distance was a bit far, and the bullet had lost much of its momentum after hitting Cybermaniac, but it still hit Cybermaniac's prosthetic eye, knocking his head to the side and causing the gun muzzle to point upwards as well.
Mann, David, and Lucy are also out of danger.
Then, Vito found himself staring at Mann's team with horrified expressions.
Vito subconsciously touched his face, forgetting his facial disguise and thinking there was something dirty on his face.
His hand touched the facial disguise, and the holographic projection on the square screen began to flash erratically, like a cyber madman about to go berserk.
Dorio silently handed Rebecca to Kivy, assumed a fighting stance, and prepared to fight Vito to the death.
"Uh, the misunderstanding seems to be getting bigger and bigger."
Vito thought to himself.
"Never mind that, let's eliminate that danger first!"
Vito scratched his head, then raised the muzzle of his gun to indicate that he meant no harm, and then pointed at Cyber Madman, the sound of a faded vinyl record playing again.
"I'm going to take care of him, you don't need to be nervous."
After saying that, Vito threw the Nine-Tailed Rifle from behind him and fired forward. The first thing to be destroyed was the heavy machine gun in Cyber Madman's hand. To increase the hit rate, Vito fired all the remaining bullets at Cyber Madman's chest.
David shielded Lucy behind him, staring intently at the figure until he passed Mann Mann's team and walked toward the Cyber Madman.
When Vito walked up to Cyber Madman, he heard Cyber Madman muttering something. He crouched down, trying to hear what he was saying.
"Donald, I'm scared! Donald, save me, save me..."
Vito inserted a data cable and read the cyber madman's behavioral trajectory and personal records.
This cyber lunatic is named Vance. He recently finished his crash course and joined the Sixth Street Gang with his neighbor and good friend Donald, becoming a new recruit.
Not long ago, he and several of his Sixth Street gang members went to make a deal with the Whirlpool Gang, but they were all captured by the Whirlpool Gang leader Conte's henchmen.
First, their eyes were gouged out and fitted with fly-like prosthetic eyes from the Vortex Gang, then they were stuffed into one powerful prosthetic body after another.
Vance was the only one who persevered, and when he opened his eyes again, he had become a guy filled with prosthetics.
He killed the Whirlpool Gang members, stole a heavy machine gun, and escaped. He was spurred on by the terrified screams of passersby and chased by the Whirlpool Gang members. When he finally made his way back to Santo Domingo, just two blocks from his home, he saw himself reflected in the sewage—a terrifying monster.
He was on the verge of a breakdown. Just then, gunshots rang out again, and Vance snapped, losing all control.
After reading this, Vito sighed. It was the story of an unlucky guy in Night City, but this damned city had turned many grown men into unlucky guys who deserved to die or didn't deserve to die.
Vito slowly pointed the punitive gun at Vance's head, and a processed sound rang out.
“You will not live. You people of St. Domingue may believe in God. Let me tell you something to send you on your way. For those who trust in the Lord, death is not the end, but the gateway to eternal glory.”
