Just Mine

Mrs Victoria Onome Nathaniel, Sky's mom, sat at her dressing mirror with her husband's picture in her hand. She wished he was here with her, he left her with their four kids...that wasn't the plan they had before they got married. Mr George Nathaniel died in a plane crash in october 2005, he was returning from City L back to the capital when the plane crashed. She thought she wouldn't survive it but her first daughter Brianna stood by her side, gave up her early life for her family to survive, she was like a husband to her. She always thank God for her kids, those years were tough for them.

Her second child Mena never gave her any problem...she was too obedient, she always like kept to herself, even in the university, she studied hard to come out with the best result...up till now, she wonders if her daughter knows how to play, how to really have fun...she drew a line for herself and this is the first time she has ever crossed the line. She didn't know what to feel about the pregnancy, she was a deaconess in the church, what will the church say, what will people say?....tears rolled down her cheek. Her wish was to see her ,three daughters married to good men and give her grand babies and that her only son bring home a good woman.

She has always been scared for her daughter, Mena, before she moved out, she went on dates with guys but never continued the relationship, she loved hanging out with the girls, most times they even plan trips, outside the Capital. But after university years, she cut communication with most of her friends and recently she only had two friends, Zino and Anton. At least she was going to have a child, maybe she'll change her mind in the future...she will continue praying for her, she won't give up on Mena.

Sky's Apartment

After running around with Anton, Sky was exhausted, she slept like a log of wood and woke up because of a nightmare she had, she looked at the time, it was three pm in the morning. She was saved by her dad in the dream, it's been long since she's had a dream about him. She hugged her stomach, brought out her Bible and prayed for sometime. She couldn't sleep after the dream and decided to do some work, but she couldn't help but think of her dad. He taught her to be a great woman, the little years she spent with her, he loved her and cherished her, he taught her not to settle for less, a man should go after a woman and woo her not the other way round. A woman should have some pride and not run after a man. All the men she met before her ex boyfriend and after him, all wanted her to pursue them, it's was always about them not her...they always wanted to get in her pant first, it was always sex, sex, sex...it always ended in the third date because she always refused to sleep with them. Her first boyfriend was nice, but he tricked her and took her virginity from her, she was naive then, after dating for three month without sex, she was willing to give herself to him but he had to trick her. Although he apologized and tried to make up for his so called mistake, she couldn't forget what he did. It was already too late for her to think of the few good men around, there was Neto but the bastard didn't want to get married and wanted a woman he could control.
