Hogwarts: Don't call me the Staff Maker
Chapter 745 The Former Seaside Wooden House
Chapter 745 The Former Seaside Wooden House
In London, a white car was speeding smoothly along an empty street for two whole hours without the occupants feeling any bumps or violent shaking.
Even on the busiest main roads, the car was as smooth as sitting in your living room at home.
The Dursleys in the back seat had completely forgotten the fear and panic they had felt when they left home, and were staring incredulously at the old wizard sitting in the driver's seat in front of them.
They simply couldn't believe that an old wizard who had never touched a car before possessed such superb driving skills.
"It's not difficult, is it?" Dedalow said without turning his head. "Much simpler than Apparition and riding a flying broomstick—at least that's what I think."
Upon hearing Apparition and Flying Broomsticks, two names clearly not found in normal life, Vernon Dursley's face immediately turned grim.
He swallowed back the words of praise he was about to say, and gave a heavy, cold snort, as if he had seen something disgusting and filthy.
Siren sat in the passenger seat, looking at Dedalo next to him with a puzzled expression.
Another half hour passed before he finally couldn't help but ask, "Why don't we Apparate or use the Portkey—if I remember correctly, we left the Little Huijin area two hours ago."
“That’s right.” Dedalow nodded. “But considering that our mission is to escort the Dursleys away, and they’re not particularly friendly towards magic, it’s better to take this approach, which they’ll find more acceptable.”
"How much longer are we going to drive?" Siren asked, frowning. He was getting a little bored.
I thought the work would be finished quickly, but I didn't expect it to take so long.
He only had the patience for a two-and-a-half-hour drive when Hogwarts was in session or on holiday.
"Ah, we've arrived."
With a creak, the car came to a steady stop.
"Come and take a look, I bet you're all familiar with this place," Dedalo said with a smile to the three people behind him.
As soon as Xilun opened the car door from the other side, a salty sea breeze rushed towards him.
The car was parked by the sea, and there was no one around.
"Where are you taking us?" Vernon Dursley demanded angrily.
Behind him, Penny glanced at her surroundings before clinging tightly to Dudley, her arms and fingers trembling slightly with fear.
Desolate and uninhabited, this place is perfect for murder and silencing witnesses.
This wizard wouldn't be—
"Oh, I thought you would remember this place," Dedalow sighed with some disappointment, "but it's clear you've forgotten."
"Cat, owl—" Dudley suddenly said in a trembling voice.
"What did you say?" Vernon Dursley instinctively turned to look at his son.
"What owl!"
"Yes, the messenger—for that school or something." Dali gestured with his hand.
"Ah, that's right, Hogwarts." Dedalow nodded with a smile. "We usually use owls to deliver messages, you must know that."
"Hmm." Dudley nodded and continued, "A few years ago, when the owl first delivered a message to Potter, Dad took us here to hide."
Dali seemed to have thought of something bad; his face flushed red and then turned pale, and he subconsciously touched his buttocks.
Vernon and Penny realized what was happening and quickly looked towards the sea. There was a huge rock there, and they could vaguely see a dilapidated little wooden house on it.
Vernon Dursley's face immediately turned a deep purple, and he roared at Dedalow, "Are you mocking us?"
"Believe me, I absolutely didn't mean that." Dedalow simply shook his head calmly. Then he walked to the beach and reached out to pull her along again.
No one knows what he did, but suddenly a dilapidated wooden boat appeared on the previously empty sea.
"Hurry up, time is tight. I have other things to do after I take you there."
The Dursleys looked at each other, and saw resistance in each other's eyes—clearly, none of them wanted to go into that shabby wooden hut.
But the problem is that they don't seem to have anywhere else to go besides here.
With no other option, the three of them had to bite the bullet and board the wooden boat.
Xilun followed them.
The small boat didn't look big at all, about the same size as the Hogwarts ferry for new students, but it didn't feel crowded at all when it was full of five people—including the two big guys, Vernon Dursley and Dudley.
Moreover, the journey was very smooth, and no matter how strong the wind was, not a single drop of water landed on the boat. When everyone disembarked, their hair and clothes were completely dry.
Even so, they were still in a bad mood, and slowly made their way to the dilapidated little house.
Dedalo pushed open the dilapidated wooden door.
"Please come in, I hope you like it here."
"Ah, do you think we're cavemen? That we'd like—"
Vernon Dursley, who was complaining incessantly, had just reached the door when he suddenly froze.
Penny and Dudley, who were behind him, also stopped there, staring in disbelief at everything inside the cabin.
Dudley rubbed his eyes in disbelief and asked, "When did we go home?"
Everything in the cabin was exactly the same as their home on Privet Road—the size of the sofa, the color of the carpet, even the chipped edge on the table was identical.
Dudley ran inside and opened a door with practiced ease.
That was his room, a mess. The coat he hadn't had time to pack in his suitcase when he left was hanging haphazardly on the closet.
"Just as you can see," came Dedalow's voice from behind.
"We've made a few small adjustments to make your stay more comfortable and reassuring."
"How are you feeling?"
Vernon Dursley wanted to say something, but he stammered and couldn't open his mouth.
He was indeed very satisfied with the arrangement, as if he had never left home, but the thought that all of this was created by magic made him feel as uncomfortable as if he had swallowed a fly.
Xilun was also taking in his surroundings.
It's obvious that a seamless stretching spell was used here to make the inside appear much larger than it does from the outside.
Even more surprisingly, all the furniture here—including the television, lights, and telephone—is fully functional.
Xilun turned on the television, and a clear picture immediately appeared. It was exactly the same program they had seen on Privet Road.
However, the meeting involving the Muggle Prime Minister had already ended, and he was currently visiting a nursing home. Kingsley Shackler followed quietly at the back, only occasionally showing a side profile.
There's electricity and a signal—but isn't this place on a reef in the middle of the sea?
