The slacker professor at Hogwarts
069 The Adventures of the Malfoy Trio
This world is sometimes like this: some things weigh less than four ounces when you don't weigh them, but once you do, they weigh a thousand pounds.
As the "Pureblood Supremacy" faction is arguably the most active force in politics and society, Mr. Malfoy is actually the most Muggle-friendly member of the wizarding world.
none of them.
However, the proud Malfoy was close to real Muggles (and only to the upper class), not to wizards of Muggle origin.
It should be understood that there are no nobles in the wizarding world. The twenty-eight holy pure-blood families are not nobles, let alone the other pure-blood families. They only control resources and power, but that does not mean they can be superior to other wizards and be called "nobles".
The Malfoy family was the only noble family among wizards—the kind that was personally bestowed by the Muggle King William the Great, who also granted them a fiefdom, on which the Malfoy Manor, where the family had lived for generations, was built.
According to Wilhelm the Great's policies at the time, their titles should have been Earl or Baron.
In the 16th century, Mr. Malfoy (Lucius I) even pursued Elizabeth I. Back then, they didn't talk about Muggle blood being dirty or the tradition of maintaining pure-blooded wizards.
In the early history of the Malfoy family, the Malfoys once held great influence in the Order of Merlin, after all, they were the only wizards in society who actually held Muggle titles, and were true knights.
This is a family with flexible strategies.
In the eyes of modern people, Malfoy is the most pioneering anti-Muggle force, but Slytherin, the founder who had to move to a remote area to establish Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and build resistance forces due to Muggle persecution, might not have thought so.
Currently, with Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets opposing Muggle forces and Voldemort's purge of traitors, Malfoy is not only terrified, but also extremely worried and anxious, like a lost dog.
I was so scared I almost died.
The three of them tumbled and rolled through the bizarre, winding light tunnels, occasionally catching glimpses of the Hogwarts sewers outside. Even Lucius, who always maintained his composure, couldn't help but scream out in surprise.
They were all people who had heard about the legend of Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets, and even knew a tiny bit of the secrets, so they couldn't be more clear about what was going on in front of them.
puff~
The three of them finally fell out of the light tunnel and landed on a flat ground full of animal bones and muddy dirt. Before them stood an ancient gate with two intertwined snakes.
The Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin!
"Look!" Old Gore's terrified voice was distorted and shrill as he pointed tremblingly at the wall next to the door.
By the dim light cast from an unknown source, they could clearly see several lines of bloody characters on the wall.
—The secret room has been opened.
Be wary of those who oppose your heir.
—All those who betray me and advocate standing against me will be punished!
Old Crabbe gripped Lucius's arm tightly, trembling and unable to speak. Lucius tried to appear brave, but all he felt was a constant, rattling sound coming from his mouth, as if a motor had been installed inside.
Just then, an extremely terrifying, dull, grinding sound echoed at the end of the empty passage.
The stone door in front of us was slowly moving, with dust falling from it from time to time, and a cold, foul smell wafted out from the cracks in the door along with the cold wind.
The three instinctively huddled together, staring in horror at the scene before them.
The gap in the stone door was widening, and the faint panting of a huge beast could be heard.
"Run!" Old Gore suddenly roared, forcefully pulling out his wand to block in front of him, his chubby,憨憨 face full of determination.
Old Crabbe seemed to realize what was happening too. He forcefully picked up the stiff Lucius and desperately shoved him into the pipe behind him. He turned around and leaned against Lucius's body, looking so terrified, yet still gritting his teeth and gripping his wand tightly to prevent Lucius from coming out.
"Go!" old Crabbe cried out desperately, "Take care of our descendants, go!"
The enormous beast inside the stone gate seemed to be awakened by their cries, and it charged toward them with a thunderous roar, its heavy body swaying.
Bang!
It crashed into the stone door, the immense force causing the door to close again, but it continued to ram the door relentlessly.
boom!
boom!
Each impact felt like it was going to completely destroy the underground structure; Lucius and his companions felt the ground shaking violently.
That stone gate obviously wouldn't last long.
Lucius quickly pulled old Crabbe, who was blocking his way, and shouted to old Goyle, who was determined to hold off the monster, "Now's the time! Let's all run! Quick, don't miss this chance!"
Old Crabbe and Old Goyle, always slow-witted and accustomed to following Malfoy's orders, quickly followed him into the pipes and ran inside.
Soon, a loud cracking sound came from behind, clearly indicating that the monster had completely destroyed the stone door, and its terrifying roar echoed through the pipes.
"Ahhh~~" Old Gao screamed in fright.
"Shut up!" Lucius roared. "The monster that lives in the shadows doesn't necessarily have good eyesight. If we all shut up, maybe it won't even notice where we are!"
But Old Gore's terrified screams clearly pointed the monster in the right direction, as the terrifying, heavy footsteps rapidly approached from afar.
Lucius gestured for them to shut up and ran ahead anxiously until they finally came to a fork in the road.
He quickly turned around and gestured to his two henchmen to tread lightly, and told them to climb up the pipe on the right that required jumping to reach. After the two of them had climbed up, he was pulled up by old Crabbe and pulled out his wand to cast a concealment spell on the spot.
He then cast a spell on everyone to conceal their scent and sound, and together they began to run into the pipe.
But soon the pipe became narrow, forcing them to bend over and eventually crawl slowly inside, supporting themselves with their hands on the ground.
This is embarrassing.
But this is also a good thing, because a smaller pipe means that the potentially very large monster won't be able to squeeze in!
Moreover, these narrow pipes had too many branches, so they began to constantly choose one of the paths and clean up any traces of their passage.
They didn't know how long they had been running, but their bodies began to tire, their breathing became heavy, and they could faintly hear the sounds of monsters coming from some unknown direction, as if they might burst out from some fork in the road at any moment.
They started to panic.
Just then, a sound of scales scraping against the stone wall of the pipe suddenly came from the side that Old Gore was close to. A terrible fear instantly filled the hearts of the three of them. They were so frightened that they stood still like quails, and could only listen to the monster's roar as it approached and the blood flowing from the wounds it had created by squeezing and rubbing against the pipe.
Do not!
I don't want to die!
Lucius could see the despair in old Crabbe's eyes beside him. For some reason, as he gritted his teeth, gripped his wand tightly, and gasped for breath, he suddenly felt the fear in his heart receding.
Anyway, seeing something terrifying looming approaching in the darkness, he forcefully raised his wand and roared, "Repel it with all your might!"
boom!
The magic worked; the terrifying monster seemed to be blasted away and crashed deep into the pipe, letting out a mournful howl.
"Walk!!!!"
He grabbed one in each hand and ran like a madman toward a slightly wider pipe to the side, sprinting for his life!
But this is just the beginning of a nightmare!
No matter where they run, even if they use magic to climb up the pipes above, the monster will chase after them.
Several times, many times, they narrowly escaped death!
The most terrifying incident was when the monster suddenly bit down from the pipe above. Although they couldn't see the monster's exact appearance, Lucius's shoulder blade was instantly bitten off.
If Old Gore hadn't given him a hard push, his head would probably have been bitten off!
The attacks continued, and along the way, all three of them suffered injuries of varying degrees. Blood stained their once magnificent wizard robes, and despair welled up in their hearts once more.
because……
They ran around in a panic, seemingly heading down a dead end!
The pipes here have collapsed!
The strange vines had been there for who knows how long, their thick branches intertwining and binding every stone tightly, making them impossible to move.
"Quickly, go back the way you came!"
Lucius made a quick decision and led them to run back, but then they heard the monster's roar coming from the pipe behind them again.
There is no way out!
The three of them completely lost their color.
Lucius raised his wand high, aiming it at the depths of the dark tunnel, his face full of bitterness. He looked at his two old friends, "Gow, Crabbe, will you blame me for leading you to hunt down the Dark Lord back then?"
Old Goyle shook his head. "Goyle and Crabbe shared both wealth and crisis with Malfoy. We swore an oath that we would never regret it, no matter what!"
Old Crabbe kicked aside a piece of rubble, his face turning grim as he stared intently at the monster deep within the pipe. Turning to the two men, he said, "Let's unleash Fiendfire and burn it to death!"
Old Gore paused for a moment, then said, "This will burn us to death too!"
Old Crabbe grinned, a strange sense of pleasure creeping onto his simple, honest face. "Then let's die together!"
"To die together?" Old Gore murmured.
"Alright!" Lucius ran his fingers through his slicked-back hair, trying to look presentable before he died, and laughed as he looked at his two old buddies. "We'll die together! Are you scared?"
Old Crabbe licked his lips. "I'm not afraid. I know Draco is a good boy. He'll take good care of my son. I'm not afraid to die!"
Old Gao trembled, shaking the fat on his cheeks. "I'm scared, I'm so afraid of dying..."
But he still raised his hand and earnestly made a magical gesture, looking at the two of them, "Shall we cast Fiendfire together?"
"Alright!" Lucius endured the sharp pain in his shoulder and forcefully raised the wand in his hand.
The three of them raised their wands together, aiming them at the increasingly close roaring sound coming from inside the pipe.
Just then, the collapsed pipe behind them suddenly emitted a strange sound.
They turned around in astonishment and saw the vines coiling around the large rocks, lifting them high and moving them to the sides, revealing a passage filled with light.
Within the tunnel of light, Lockhart, wielding his wand and controlling everything, walked slowly forward.
"Great, you're here!" Lockhart flashed his perfect, radiant smile. "I've been looking for you for ages!"
In that instant, Lucius and his two companions seemed to see the light!
