Late at night, in Gotham City, a beautiful figure glides past over the wall.

Encased in a black bodysuit, Selena's movements were completely silent, like a nimble cat hunting in the dead of night, every action filled with stillness.

Even in this heavily guarded "rich area", no one could find her.

Hiding at the corner of the alley, Selena looked up at the luxurious apartment building, comparing it to the address in her mind.

"This is the place."

With a cold gaze sweeping over the dozing security guard at the apartment entrance, Selena took a flashlight from her lower back and put it in her mouth.

In the dim light, the emergency escape staircases on both sides of the apartment came into her view.

With a powerful, rounded push from her legs, the nimble catwoman silently scaled the wall and darted into the apartment building through the fire escape.

Clearly, having not gotten what she wanted from the USB drive, Selena has begun to plan her own way out of the predicament.

"You want me to go with that guy? Dream on!"

The thought of Lucius, that hypocrite, and his feigned innocence and sincerity in front of Pamela filled Selena with a deep-seated disgust.

When the police officer readily untied her, she was momentarily surprised to find that he had a decent personality. Although he was a bit promiscuous, he was loyal to his partner and didn't have many ulterior motives.

But what was the result?!

That damn USB drive was completely empty! He switched it out a long time ago!

Or perhaps, Penguin's men set a trap from the very beginning, and the USB drive contained nothing but information intended to frame that police officer.

Of course, Selena doesn't have much hope for the second possibility.

There are too many coincidences. Unless the Penguin secretly planned everything, such a "coincidence" would not occur.

"Hmph, all men are the same."

Selena quickly arrived at the floor where the man lived, a hint of disdain playing on her lips.

This time, she wouldn't be foolish enough to act as the other party expected.

Instead of going to the hospital for the appointment, Selena just wanted to find out what kind of guy that seemingly friendly police officer really was.

Of course, she wasn't a fool to be easily fooled, and she wouldn't sentence that police officer to death based on information on a USB drive. She decided to use her own eyes to judge a person's true character.

"I'm giving you one last chance."

Catwoman quickly pulled out her lock-picking device, and with a few deft movements, Lucius's door opened in three seconds—faster than a police officer could do with a key.

Selena deftly pushed open the door and slipped into Lucius's apartment...

Selena's gaze swept over the messy living room, where numerous expensive decorations were scattered about, causing her professional instincts to kick in slightly.

"Wow, this guy has so many good things... Where did he get them from?"

With languid steps, Catwoman quietly approached the largest oil painting in the living room. She paused, a hint of surprise and fascination in her eyes.

That guy actually managed to get his hands on something like this?

Forget it, now is not the time to work.

Suppressing the urge to take something with her, Catwoman deftly shook her head, banishing the inappropriate thought from her mind, and quickly searched for items that could prove the guy's identity.

After finding Lucius's study, the experienced thief Catwoman quickly spotted what she wanted.

Selena held the unearthed diaries in her hands, her expression shifting repeatedly under the light...

Gritting her teeth, she gripped the pages of her diary tightly, and her alluring red lips uttered a few cold words:

"Okay... I knew it..."

Looking at the various romantic escapades recorded in the diary, Selena now has a complete understanding of a certain police officer!

She hadn't misunderstood that man! His biggest hobby was with women...

The penguin deliberately presented himself as a gift! And that guy definitely switched the USB drive!

"If that's the case, then..."

Find that wicked man's weakness and obtain the real thing through a trade...

"call..."

A strange gust of wind blew in, causing the catwoman in the room to change her expression.

Something's wrong! Something's coming!

She quickly put the diary back on the desk. At that moment, Selena seemed to transform into a ghost in the darkness, instantly climbing onto the wardrobe.

Lowering her body and hiding in the low gap between the ceiling and the wardrobe, Selena reduced her breathing to the minimum, almost completely erasing any trace of her existence.

"Sizzle..."

With the sound of a window being pulled open, a composed man entered the apartment.

"Fellow travelers?"

The catwoman in the shadows listened intently and could discern that the person was likely an adult male with an extremely robust physique.

The other party did not enter through the main entrance... Could it be that the security in the wealthy area is so poor that anyone can just walk in?

"Splash splash splash..."

The sound of rummaging rang out frequently, and the loud noise made the master catwoman frown, dissatisfied with her colleague's "clumsy" methods.

Such a poor move, not to mention attracting the attention of the security guards on night watch, would inevitably be discovered by the original owner of the house.

However, it's not bad for a cop like Lucius to suffer more losses.

Thinking this, Selena smiled slightly and waited for the 'villains' in the room to finish their rampage.

Until that familiar sound of the window opening rang out again, accompanied by the sound of a grappling hook cutting through the air, there was no longer a second heartbeat in the apartment.

......

"Alfred, aren't we going a bit too far?"

Standing atop the skyscraper, the man in the bat-like suit spoke in a deep voice to his butler, while glancing back at the location of Lucius's apartment.

Taking the drugs from the officer wasn't enough; they also needed to gather information from his residence...

Even if the intention was to protect Gotham, Bruce Wayne felt that such behavior seemed a bit excessive.

"Young Master, as you know, the situation in Gotham is becoming increasingly tense."

The old man's weathered voice came through the wireless earpiece, comforting Bruce's guilty conscience.

"That's the best way we can currently combat the fear gas... Since the lost contraband hasn't been found, we have to prevent the fear gas from spreading again in Gotham..."

"yes..."

If he could still negotiate with Lucius, Bruce would never have resorted to such despicable means to obtain the antidote.

But Lucius is still seriously ill, and Bruce can't disturb his rest at this time.

"The last explosion was really too suspicious."

Having secretly investigated the scene of the bombing, Batman noticed something unusual in the police car driven by Lucius.

"According to ballistic calculations, the bullet that lured the vehicle carrying the fugitive to explode was fired from the passenger-side window."

A standard nine-millimeter bullet was fired from the chamber of the police officer's sidearm, a Glock.

But if Lucius was in the passenger seat, then who was driving the police car?

After the fleeing Ford exploded, why was only the seriously injured Lucius left at the scene? Where did the other guy go?

All this unknown made Batman suddenly feel a little more worried about Lucius.

"You were silent in the room just now, did you discover something strange?"

Bruce didn't answer the butler's curious question through his earpiece, but instead replied casually, "Nothing... I just smelled a faint fragrance."

Standing quietly on the high ground, gazing at Lucius's residence, Wayne's face finally broke into a smile when he spotted a beautiful figure darting out of the apartment.

"Looks like we have another lead."
