American comics: From Hogwarts to God on Earth

Chapter 15 is great, now I can be a nepotism beneficiary too.

Upon waking up in the DC universe, Rune silently cast the Ironclad Charm on himself, then stared blankly at the constantly flashing "N" icon in the status bar.

Infinite Blessing: Your strength and regenerative abilities are enhanced. Strengthening this blessing will grant even more benefits.

This is because when the N-metal dagger pierced him, a tiny amount of metal ions entered Rune's bloodstream. N-metal has the effect of enhancing the user's strength, reducing energy damage, and accelerating wound healing; the flickering was naturally due to the scarcity of metal ions. In short, too few punctures were made.

"You're awake?" A blonde woman approached. Her features were still quite delicate, but wrinkles had appeared at the corners of her eyes. "Don't worry, it's all over now."

On the other side, the boy who was looking out the window turned his head. He was handsome and had an indescribable sense of righteousness, perhaps because he had a square face.

"You're from Gotham? Looks like it's not very safe there." The boy's first words made Rune's expression change drastically.

How did you know?

"Where else besides Gotham could a child be injured like this?" The woman held Rune's hand tenderly, the warmth of her palm calming him down.

Rune sighed. "I'm from Gotham, but don't call the police. It's for your own good... Why the look on your faces?"

"Um...we've already called the police..." the boy managed a forced smile.

"...Alright then." Rune sighed. He looked at his belongings; the stone staff and wooden staff were both gone, only the blood staff remained on his fingers. In that moment of life and death blurring, he had instinctively pulled his wand away. The bone staff was destroyed, he only had thirty-two dollars left, his phone was gone, and as for the demon materials in the cabin…

No, I can't think about it anymore; the more I think about it, the more my heart aches. At least I still have a magic wand.

Screams erupted outside the door. Rune quickly ripped the tubes off his body and glanced outside. A group of thugs from Gotham, afraid of appearing weak, were all carrying guns and looking menacing. One of the thugs even slapped the nurse's buttocks as he walked past.

"Go!" Rune opened the window and jumped out. The woman and boy didn't have time to stop him. They both poked their heads out and saw Rune land on the ground as lightly as a feather.

"Fly over, all of you!"

Upon landing, Rune casually cast a petrification spell on the guards at the hospital entrance; they were still lighting cigarettes for each other—how unprofessional! If they dared to neglect their duties within the Jokers' gang, Harley would probably smash their heads in.

As the incantation was recited, the woman and boy were brought down. The woman was about to scream when she covered her mouth; she now knew what she had to do. Only the boy happily rambled on, saying things like, "Is this magic? Do it again!" Rune rolled his eyes. If it weren't for these two saviors, all the gangsters inside and outside the hospital would be dead.

Of course, Rune had no intention of letting them go either.

"You go first!" Rune said in a low voice. "Thank you for saving my life, but I can't drag you down with me."

"Mom, you go first, I'll help him!" The boy looked eager and completely unafraid of being shot. Even more absurdly, his mother hesitated for a moment, said "Be careful," and then left. WTF?

"Wait, what's your name?" Rune suddenly remembered something and turned to look at the handsome boy.

"Me? My name is Clark Kent!" Clark puffed out his chest.

No wonder. Rune sighed.

Good news: My teammate is Superman; he can clear this low-level dungeon by himself. Bad news: My teammate is Superman; he doesn't kill anyone.

Rune cast an Ironclad Charm on Clark, and Clark raised his fist, punching them one by one. Anyone who dared to fire was pinned to the wall, anyone who resisted was kicked away. Bullets didn't even flinch, they were simply stopped by the Ironclad Charm. In the end, the gang members knelt down as if they had seen God.

Rune, standing behind Clark, was having a much harder time. He had to erase the memories of ordinary people one by one. Unlike before, when he could simply chant "Heads, fly here!" and these little Karamis, who didn't even have basic magic resistance, would come running with their heads. It was kind of like practicing memory magic. Rune sighed. "Falcone, you just wait. After I find a Norwegian Ridgeback Dragon's blood to complete the bloodline fusion, I'll send you to your death with a burst of fire."

While erasing his memories, he didn't forget to take the two N-metal daggers, still stained with blood. N-metal is a valuable substance.

"That's amazing!" Clark said, still holding a few of the deflected bullets. "Do you want them?"

"I don't need it." Rune shook his head, but then he suddenly remembered something and stared intently at Clark.

Is Superman considered a magical creature? His power comes from Kryptonian blood and ethereal love, so... he should be considered one? Let's try getting some blood then. If it works, he won't have to worry about turning into a giant lizard after absorbing dragon blood, or growing into Doctor Strange after absorbing unicorn blood.

"Uh, why are you staring at me?" Clark shuddered, then looked regretfully at the guns at his feet. "Sigh, I really want to take a few guns home, but my dad will kill me if I do."

Seeing Clark's pathetic state, Rune sneered, "Wait until you've sunbathed a bit more, and you'll be nothing but a rocket launcher hit you, let alone these guns."

"Huh?" Clark scratched his head. He was still in his growth stage and far from reaching the level of the future "god among men," so of course he dared not hope for it.

"Let's go find your mother."

"Ah, okay, okay, is it just my imagination? I feel like you know me very well..."

Since the boy's name is Clark Kent, the woman's name is obviously obvious—Martha, the behind-the-scenes pillar of the Justice League.

"Let's go home quickly." Before Rune could refuse, Martha pushed the two children into the van. She didn't ask why Rune was being chased, nor did she abandon him; she simply chatted with Rune about everyday things.

Martha sighed after learning that Rune had lived in a monastery. She was enraged upon hearing about the misdeeds of the families who had adopted him. Finally, when Rune explained why he was being hunted, Martha erupted like a lion in a rage, gripping the steering wheel tightly, veins bulging on her hands.

"You live on our ranch. I'd like to see if those Gotham gangsters are really powerful enough to kill me!"

"Mom, with me and Rune here, they can't hurt you and Dad." As he spoke, Clark was still happily gesturing to the scene from back then, and took out the bullet to prove it to Martha.

Martha and Clark seemed completely oblivious to the urgency of being hunted by the mob. They chatted and laughed throughout the journey, perhaps because both Clark and Rune possessed extraordinary powers. Clark was very close to Rune, addressing him as a brother after only a few words, and stubbornly insisting on being the older brother.

Well, Superman as the older brother... I never thought I'd become a "connected" person too.

Rune thought to himself with ease.
