George was extremely busy today. He had to clean up the mess left from last night, prepare for the funeral of the fallen police officer, and face a barrage of questions from the media. If he made any mistakes, he might lose his position as police chief.

Even so, before dealing with these complicated matters, he still made a point of taking the time to talk to Gray about the topic of justice.

The huge losses last night made George realize that the police force was far too weak in the face of the increasingly rampant evil forces, and he urgently needed new forces to support him.

Spider-Woman, Daredevil, and even his savior are all within George's considerations.

He knew that it was unrealistic to assemble a team of heroes with his current power and ability, so his initial plan was to cooperate with these superheroes, communicate fully before the operation, and minimize the police's losses as much as possible.

"No problem, come to me if you need help. George, your idea is good. In my opinion, justice should be pursued together," Gray readily agreed.

"That's great, Gray. I knew you wouldn't refuse. Because you are so different. Even when you're alone, you never hide yourself. You don't wear ridiculous bodysuits or laughable masks. You always appear in front of people openly and honestly. From this, I can see your firm determination for justice. You are not afraid of retaliation or public criticism because you... have a clear conscience!" Chief George clenched his fist excitedly.

"George, you understand me." Gray nodded gently.

"I tried to communicate with other superheroes before, but they were too prejudiced against the authorities, which made me feel helpless. But now it's different. With your support, I have the confidence to persuade them." George said with deep emotion, his tone filled with strong admiration for Gray.

"Go, George!"

"Dad, Jessica, Gray... Uncle, have some fruit." Gwen, carrying a fruit platter, walked over with a curious smile on her face and sat down in the empty seat next to George.

"Gwen, we have quite a few guests today. If you're busy, you don't need to worry about us. Go and greet your classmates." George frowned slightly, not wanting his daughter to get involved in these complicated matters.

"It's okay, I set up a barbecue grill outside. We're not strangers, they can take care of themselves." Gwen wasn't about to leave so easily, so she clung to George's arm and said sweetly, "Dad, you're being a bit unfair. Jessica's here too. Let me hear what you're busy with every day, I'm so curious."

"Gwen, um, I..." Jessica hesitated, glancing furtively under the table, her face slightly flushed.

It wasn't that she didn't want to leave, but Gray wrapped his entire arm around her leg and began to strum it like he was playing the piano.

It's only because she's physically flexible that she can maintain even a proper sitting posture.

"Alright, alright, you can listen, but you can't interrupt."

What father could resist such an adorable daughter?

George had no choice but to compromise.

"Okay, you guys talk, I'll just listen." Gwen nodded obediently.

George shook his head and smiled, then continued, "We've made some progress on what happened last night. The executors were Gambit, Rhino, Vulture, and Colossus, and the coordinator was Kingpin, but none of them are key figures. According to my friends at S.H.I.E.L.D., the mastermind behind all this is very likely Homelander."

"Homelander?"

Jessica and Gwen both gasped upon hearing this.

Then, Jessica immediately looked at Gray with an almost cannibalistic gaze, as if questioning: Why did you kidnap so many girls?

Gwen realized the seriousness of the situation and her expression turned solemn. Although she had never met Homelander, she was very familiar with the news about him and knew that he was lawless and extremely powerful.

Gray frowned, puzzled, and asked, "George, what exactly does Homelander want with all those girls?"

"Need I say more? It's obviously for doing something shady." Gwen said with a look of disdain.

"No, Gwen, you're oversimplifying things." George shook his head, his expression serious. "At first, I had similar suspicions, but after in-depth investigation, you probably can't imagine what I've found. King has bought a large number of girls from all over the world—over two hundred! And he's still buying. If these girls are all wanted by Homelanders, isn't that a bit too many?"

"this……"

Gwen paused slightly.

Indeed, twenty or thirty might be somewhat understandable, but several hundred is truly outrageous. Even if every Chinese person had an iron rod in their crotch, they probably couldn't figure it out.

After a brief pause, George dropped a bombshell: "If I'm not mistaken, these girls are very likely involved in human experimentation!"

"Oh? What do you mean?" Gray looked at George with surprise.

George's expression was grave as he said in a deep voice, "Just a few days ago, Fisker Group privately signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Osborne Group. One of them mainly deals in real estate, and the other in biopharmaceuticals. Their business areas hardly overlap, so this sudden close cooperation must be a big problem."

George's guess was reasonable, but Gwen's idea was bolder. A glint of shrewdness flashed in her eyes as she slowly said, "I see. Harry's father's sudden death a few days ago must be related to this. Homelander might be developing some kind of terrible drug targeting women to unleash his repressed, perverse desires. Otherwise, there's no explanation for why he specifically targets young and beautiful girls!"

"..."

Gray looked at George on the left and Gwen on the right, and had to admit that even he was somewhat impressed by the imaginative ideas of this pair of brilliant minds.

"Perhaps, but this is just our speculation. To find out the truth, we need to investigate further." George looked worried. "Kingpin's power is growing, and without a legitimate reason, I can't do anything about him."

"George, don't worry, I'll take care of it." Gray's tone was calm but firm.

"Good, good, good! I knew I hadn't misjudged you!"

George was overjoyed: "Gray, please be extremely careful during the operation. Kingpin has many capable men under his command, so avoid direct confrontation with them. If you need any assistance from the police, just let us know!"

"The path of a hero is fraught with thorns, and even if I am covered in blood, I will never back down," Gray said calmly.

Upon hearing this, George's heart skipped a beat, and a silent emotion welled up in his eyes.

Jessica's lips twitched; she had a bellyful of complaints but didn't know how to express them, and she felt a little uncomfortable holding it in.

Gwen's expression turned solemn, and her previous prejudice against Grey vanished instantly.

Disregarding their own safety and venturing deep into enemy territory—that courage and sense of responsibility are beyond words. Respect!

"Uncle Gray, I..." Gwen also expressed her praise for the hero, but before she could finish her words of gratitude, her face suddenly froze.

Suddenly, she felt something touch her calf under the table. She subconsciously glanced down and her pupils contracted.

In her line of sight, a toe wearing a leather shoe was slowly drawing circles on her calf, the action provocatively giving Gwen the feeling of watching a Japanese blockbuster.

But there's an inexplicable sense of incongruity in this scene; shouldn't the feet that are drawing circles be wearing stockings and high heels?

"..."

Gwen slowly raised her head, first glancing at her father George, who was speaking eloquently and passionately, then at Grey, who was all smiles and secretly giving her flirty glances. She was completely dumbfounded.

Uncle, what are you doing?
