Chapter 5: Waaah, you wait!
Big Daddy assigned Mindy a week-long study assignment.
From August 24th to August 31st, she needs to accumulate 100 credits within a week before she will be allowed to return to New York.
The scoring rules are simple and straightforward: a small-time thug gets 1 point, a thug leader gets 10 points, and if you can take down a notorious villain, you can immediately get a perfect score and receive a learning item as a reward from Big Daddy: a single-soldier RPG rocket launcher.
Mindy dreams of owning her own rocket launcher; just imagining it flying out of the air excites her.
The effect was far more spectacular than any fireworks, since no fireworks could blast a person to pieces.
"Tch, you bunch of scum, how disgusting! I'm only 12 years old! Even if I deliberately lured you into this trap, having such thoughts is a capital offense!"
In a dark alley in Chicago's largest slum, surrounded by desolation, Mindy, having successfully caught her fish, wore a smug smile. She holstered her pistol, blew on it lightly, spun it two and a half times with a remarkably stylish flourish, and deftly tucked it back into its holster at her waist.
This is a classic Western cowboy move, which she practiced for a long time in front of the TV before she learned it.
Four thugs lay sprawled on the ground. Three of them had gaping holes in their heads, blood and brain matter splattered everywhere. The remaining thug, shot in the thigh, slumped against the wall, crying and begging for mercy.
"Spare me, I'll never do it again..." The voice, filled with fear, echoed through the empty alley, sounding particularly eerie.
"Please, you're a man, can't you be a little stronger? Is this really appropriate?"
Mindy showed no pity. She tapped her chin with her finger, tilted her head and pondered for a while before drawing a gleaming military dagger with a blood groove from her waist.
She walked step by step to the struggling thug, her movements as light as a cat. She crouched down, held the knife in her hand, and without hesitation stabbed him several times in the chest and neck.
In an instant, the thug's pleas for mercy stopped abruptly, and the few faint gurgling sounds coming from his throat vanished without a trace.
"Let me think, it seems like this... like this... then like this... and finally like this!!"
When it came to the last step, Mindy was stumped. Her face turned red, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't push the knife handle all the way into the thug's chest.
"That guy may be crazy, but his killing moves are really cool. It's a pity I'm not strong enough to learn it." She muttered as she got up in disappointment.
Then, without any panic, she took out a tissue from her cartoon handbag, carefully wiped the blood off her hands, and even straightened her skirt.
After tidying herself up, Mindy casually stepped out of the alley, skillfully avoiding all the security cameras, muttering to herself, "I've accumulated 4 more credits. There are still 4 days left until the 31st. Hmm, plenty of time. How about I treat myself to something at the amusement park?"
Her eyes darted around, and she flashed a bright smile. Her father had said that it was important to balance work and rest, and that proper relaxation would help with the next murder.
Soon after, Mindy arrived at Chicago’s largest amusement park, bought a ticket, and headed straight for the adult section, having heard that a particularly thrilling new ride had been added there, called Crazy Rocking Horse.
"Holy crap, this is so much fun!"
On the rocking horse, Gray laughed heartily, so happy he almost took off.
It was really about to take off. I wonder if the designer used to develop adult products. The rocking horse's vibration frequency was incredibly high. Gray, who was sitting on it, almost became a blur.
The tourists in line were sweating profusely upon seeing this. They had heard that someone had suffered a concussion from playing on this thing a couple of days ago, and now that they saw it, the rumors were true.
"Jessica, want to come along?"
After resting for a while, Gray was still a little unsatisfied and wanted to play a second time. However, he thought of an even more interesting way to play, such as having Jessica sit in front and him rocking hard from behind.
The girl wore denim shorts, her curves were full and alluring, and although she lacked attack speed and violent attributes, she was still enough to arouse the imagination.
"I'll let it go, but seeing you having so much fun makes me happy too." Jessica smiled sweetly and pointed to the mobile cart not far away, saying, "By the way, baby, are you hungry? There's a hamburger stand over there, do you want me to buy you something to eat?"
"Mmm, I want to eat!"
Gray narrowed his eyes and nodded with a smile.
"no problem!"
Jessica was overjoyed and almost burst out laughing. After a period of appeasement, the bad guy finally lowered his guard!
"Let's kiss first."
The baby brought his face close to Jessica's.
Jessica clenched her fist secretly, but pecked him with a smile that didn't change: "Ugh, so many people are watching."
"A kiss on the lips too!"
"I...I really can't do anything with you..."
With only one step left to success, and thinking about the sunk costs incurred so far, Jessica tearfully offered a kiss, but of course, it was just a fleeting touch.
Even so, aside from sleeping, she had already done everything a girlfriend should do.
Jessica couldn't help but bitterly recall her first love. Although she couldn't remember his name or appearance, there was one thing she remembered very clearly: from the fourth grade to the sixth grade of elementary school, the two of them barely even held hands!
That damn bastard stole her first kiss!
"That damn bastard stole my spot again!"
Mindy's eyes widened in anger, and she trembled with rage.
She scrambled to her feet from the puddle, her once beautiful princess dress now covered in mud, and the pistol, dagger, and bomb she had hidden on her person had fallen to the ground.
Just now, she waited in line for a full ten minutes on the rocking horse, only to have it snatched away by Gray.
This time the force was particularly strong, sending her flying three or four meters away. If she hadn't been agile and rolled two and a half times on the ground, she probably would have broken her front teeth.
"You wait, I'm calling for help!"
Mindy burst into tears, feeling utterly aggrieved, and pulled out her phone from her cartoon satchel, ready to ask her father for help.
She's Hit-Girl, she kills without batting an eye!
Mindy had made up her mind. If the pistol didn't work, she'd switch to the machine gun; if the machine gun didn't work, she'd use a rocket launcher. She had to get revenge today, or she wouldn't be able to sleep at night.
"Come on, let's get out of here right now."
Just then, a middle-aged man with a full beard in the crowd suddenly changed his expression after receiving a phone call. He abandoned his pretense, rushed out, grabbed Mindy, and ran towards a less crowded area.
"Big Daddy?"
Mindy blinked in confusion, then, after recognizing the person, angrily shouted, "So, you've been secretly following me all along! Didn't we agree that I'd be carrying out the mission alone this time? You broke your promise!"
Do you remember Kingpin?
The old man looked around warily, his expression grave.
Upon hearing this, Mindy immediately curled her lip: "How could I not remember? That's the underworld boss you've been dreaming of killing. It's a pity he doesn't even know you exist, because you only dream and don't dare to actually do it."
"That guy's gone mad. His son was murdered, and the killer is nearby."
Big Daddy, not bothering with his bickering, said quickly, "I just received news that Kingpin has sent over two of his most elite armed forces, a total of 30 men. Although these guys haven't received systematic training, they are all ruthless characters. Some are retired assassins, and some are the best mercenaries. We'd better leave here as soon as possible."
"Dad, you must have received some fake news. How could some gangster dare to cause trouble in the downtown area?" Mindy asked, her face full of suspicion.
"A madman goes mad regardless of the situation," the old man said calmly.
Mindy's mind instantly conjured up the image of Grey, and she nodded with lingering fear, "Okay, you're right."
