Mito Uzumaki stared at Hiruzen Sarutobi for a long time, and Hiruzen felt a chill run down his spine as he sensed her gaze.

Mito Uzumaki surveyed Hiruzen Sarutobi and his group, then issued an order:

"You must be exhausted from your escape and injured. The Senju clan has specialized medical ninjas. I will have them treat your injuries later. Go and rest now."

"You're to stay in the Senju clan's territory for the next few days and you're not allowed to go anywhere."

"You are not to tell anyone about Tobirama's death. No matter who asks, you must not speak of it, understand?"

Hiruzen Sarutobi and the others exchanged bewildered glances, unsure of what Mito Uzumaki was up to.

Concealing the Hokage's death and then placing them under house arrest?

Hiruzen Sarutobi felt bitter. His status as the successor to the Hokage was a hot potato. If he obediently followed Mito Uzumaki's orders and stayed in the Senju clan's territory, what if he was physically eliminated?

Mito Uzumaki's identity is not as simple as the widow of the First Hokage. She was a high-ranking member of the Uzumaki clan during the Warring States period, a red rose who fought her way out of mountains of corpses and seas of blood.

If Hiruzen Sarutobi really considered Mito Uzumaki as just a pretty face, then he would have lived in vain, as his life was now in her hands.

There might be a dozen or so elite Senju ninjas hiding outside the door, and Mito Uzumaki could take them all down with a single order.

"Lady Mito, we..."

Danzo hesitated, about to speak, after all, he wasn't stupid. If he stayed here, and Mito Uzumaki did something unfriendly to them, they wouldn't even have a chance to escape.

"Danzo, Lady Mito has made all the arrangements, so we can stay here without worry."

Hiruzen Sarutobi gave Danzo Shimura a look and readily agreed to Mito Uzumaki's request.

Hiruzen Sarutobi and Mito Uzumaki didn't have much contact. He could only see Mito when he was with his master, Tobirama Senju. Hiruzen could tell Tobirama Senju's attitude towards Mito.

That is respect.

He might not trust Mito Uzumaki, but Hiruzen Sarutobi would trust his master Tobirama Senju.

Since his master had chosen him to become Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi was willing to gamble with his life. He believed that Mito Uzumaki, whom his master respected greatly, would not disobey his master's wishes and harm him.

This monkey is quite sensible.

"Then let's go out. Someone will take you to a place to rest."

Mito Uzumaki said calmly.

After Hiruzen Sarutobi and the others left, Momoki Senju, who had been guarding the door, came in. He now had a bad feeling about him.

The Shadow Guards have all returned, looking listless and ragged, as if they've suffered a defeat. Where is their clan leader, Tobirama Senju?

It's impossible for Clan Chief Tobirama to die.

"Chieftain..."

Senju Momoki felt uneasy and tentatively asked Uzumaki Mito.

"Go, set the Konoha barrier to wartime status. With my warrant, have the Anbu place the entire village on martial law."

"Now send out all the remaining ninjas from your clans to keep an eye on the ninja clans currently in Konoha. Report any unusual activity to me immediately, especially the Uchiha!"

"Also, send someone to inform Taojian to return from the front lines immediately."

Mito Uzumaki's series of orders left Momoki Senju completely bewildered. Had someone attacked Konoha's doorstep, or was the Uchiha clan planning a rebellion?

Even the young clan leader of the Senju clan, Senju Momoma, has been recalled from the front lines.

(Hashirama's son, whose name wasn't even mentioned in the original work, was made up by the author. Nawaki wasn't even born at this point in time, so he should still be alive.)

"Lord Mito? What happened? Could it be the clan head?"

"Hurry up and go!!"

Mito Uzumaki's tone was chilling, which made Momoki Senju shudder; he had talked too much today.

"Yes, Lady Mito!"

Senju Momoki quickly went out the door to carry out Uzumaki Mito's orders.

Left alone in the room, Mito Uzumaki sat back down in her chair, her spirits instantly waning, a far cry from her previous composure.

"Hahaha, Mito, Hashirama's bastard brother is dead too. It seems Konoha, which Hashirama founded, is not far from destruction!"

A gloating voice rang out from the depths of Mito Uzumaki's heart.

A huge fox sat there, its nine tails firmly chained and unable to move.

The Nine-Tails laughed wildly, causing the chains to rattle loudly, the piercing sound echoing in Mito Uzumaki's mind.

"This is retribution, Mito. You imprisoned me for so many years, so what? Has the ninja world achieved peace?"

"."

Kurama can sense everything outside, including Mito Uzumaki's current emotions.

Sadness, despair, pain, and all sorts of negative emotions were clearly felt by Kurama, but Kurama showed no sympathy, only wanton mockery.

"Hmph, you fox spirit!"

"Konoha will not perish or disappear, and Hashirama's efforts will not be in vain. Now I will protect Konoha."

With a thought, Mito Uzumaki conjured several enormous chains out of thin air, binding Kurama's mouth and twisting its body into a pretzel shape.

"Mmm mmm mmm"

"Mito, I ****"

"."

After dealing with the Nine-Tails, Mito felt much better and regained her composure, muttering to herself.

"With me here, Konoha can't be turned upside down!"

Konoha Security Forces

Uchiha Nan sat in his own room, which belonged to the captain. The security department had three captains, each with his own room. The remaining two captains had been rotated to the front lines, leaving Uchiha Nan alone at the Uchiha headquarters, responsible for looking after the entire Uchiha clan.

After sixteen years of hard work, Uchiha Nan has become a high-ranking member of the Uchiha clan. Apart from the clan leader Uchiha Tomita, Uchiha Nan is now the second-in-command of the Uchiha clan in Konoha.

Uchiha Nan possessed the three-tomoe Sharingan, was incredibly skilled in lightning release techniques, and independently developed the lightning release Chidori (which spins like a wheel). He was also proficient in various fire release techniques within his clan and was quite adept at swordsmanship (also spinning like a wheel). He and Hatake Sakumo, a genius from the Hatake clan of Konoha, ended their swordsmanship duel in a draw.

Uchiha Nan gained immense prestige within the Uchiha clan through his own efforts (the culmination of over a decade of hard work in the lottery).

"Slap!"

Banji pushed open Uchiha Nan's door and lightly leaped into Uchiha Nan's arms.

"Kusun, Hiruzen Sarutobi and the others have returned. They headed towards the Senju clan's territory not long ago, and haven't come out since."

"Moreover, the entire Senju clan has been mobilized. Senju ninjas are spreading out in all directions toward Konoha, and some of them should be near the Uchiha clan's territory by now."

"Anbu ninjas have also been mobilized and scattered throughout Konoha."

"Some of them are very strong, and the ninja cats dare not get too close for fear of alerting them. Some have retreated, while others can only watch and observe from a distance."

"It won't be long before there are ANBU or Senju clan ninjas even near the security headquarters."

Uchiha Nan skillfully stroked Banji, showing no concern over Uzumaki Mito's actions.

"Someone, start a meeting!"

Now that Mito Uzumaki has made a move, Uchiha Nan naturally can't just sit here doing nothing.
