Chapter 9 Trust!

Uchiha Kagami felt the sharp gazes directed at him. His former teammates' eyes were filled with disappointment. Just moments ago, the six of them had been huddling together for warmth, resisting the immense pressure from Uzumaki Mito. Now, they were falling apart.

Danzo Shimura, Koharu Utatane, Homura Mitokado, and Torifu Akimichi, as if by telepathy, moved away from Kagami Uchiha. Only Hiruzen Sarutobi remained in place, looking at Kagami Uchiha with a complicated expression.

Mito Uzumaki's hair was floating slightly, and those who knew her well knew that she was on the verge of exploding in rage.

Uchiha Kagami invoked the Uchiha clan, but he hadn't stooped so low as to casually swear an oath that the entire Uchiha clan would die.

However, Uchiha Kagami's explanation seemed weak and unconvincing. As soon as the six of them returned to the village, they went straight to the Senju clan's territory to report the death. They did not see anyone else in between, and once they arrived at the Senju clan's territory, they did not leave.

However, within an afternoon, news of Tobirama Senju's death spread throughout Konoha.

The source of the news was still the Uchiha clan. In total, only seven people knew about Tobirama Senju's death, including Mito Uzumaki, and Kagami Uchiha happened to be from the Uchiha clan.

The Uchiha clan isn't without secret methods of transmitting information; does transmitting messages necessarily have to be face-to-face?

Uchiha Kagami's explanations clearly failed to convince Uzumaki Mito. The deed was done, and someone had to step forward, pay the price, and bear the consequences.

Whether it was Uchiha Kagami who did it or not was no longer important to Mito Uzumaki. Since the news came from the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Kagami had already become an accomplice, because he was an Uchiha.

Mito Uzumaki stood up, her eyes filled with murderous intent. She couldn't kill this brat from the Uchiha clan, but she could certainly beat him so badly that he'd be bedridden for half a year.

"I believe in Uchiha Kagami!!"

Hiruzen Sarutobi shouted, then stood in front of Kagami Uchiha, his eyes fixed on Mito Uzumaki.

Everyone present was astonished that even at this critical moment, Hiruzen Sarutobi still dared to stand up and protect Kagami Uchiha.

A look of surprise flashed across Mito Uzumaki's face, but it was gone in an instant. She stared at Hiruzen Sarutobi's resolute face for a few seconds, then a sound came from her throat:

Uchiha Kagami looked at Hiruzen Sarutobi with a grateful expression, then began to gasp for breath. The feeling of floating on the sea and being on the verge of drowning had disappeared.

Cold sweat had soaked through his underwear, which clung tightly to Uchiha Mirror's skin, making him feel sticky and uncomfortable. However, Uchiha Mirror didn't have time to care about that right now.

"Hiruzen, stop being so stubborn. Uchiha Kagami is still an Uchiha!"

Danzo Shimura watched as his best friend, burdened with pressure alone, was being protected by an Uchiha who had leaked information.

In Shimura Danzo's view, the one who leaked the information among the six of them must be the Uchiha.

Tobirama-sensei was always wary of the Uchiha clan. After all, Uchiha Kagami was a member of the Uchiha clan, so leaking information to the Uchiha clan wasn't something unacceptable.

"He was always gentle with his comrades. On the battlefield, he was a reliable comrade-in-arms, and I could trust him with my back."

Hiruzen Sarutobi spoke slowly, recounting how he knew everything about Kagami Uchiha, from the details of their daily lives to their shared life and death on the battlefield.

In Hiruzen Sarutobi's memory, the Uchiha clan members were always arrogant, especially those who had awakened the Sharingan, who were incredibly arrogant.

Hiruzen Sarutobi reminisced about the Uchiha generation he was of the same generation. Among the Uchiha, there were two outliers: one was Uchiha Kagami, whom he knew well, and the other was Uchiha Nan.

They are incredibly strong and humble; even ordinary ninjas can joke around with them.
