Chapter 23: Farewell! The Famous Sword Stormbringer

Cocoa West Village, on the coast.

Nami is saying goodbye to the villagers.

Even the usually cheerful girl couldn't help but have her eyes well up with tears.

It was yesterday that we took care of the Arlong Pirates.

Last night, a rather grand banquet was held in Cocoa West Village.

And today, it's time to say goodbye.

The ship that brought Damian and the others was now anchored at the shore. Damian stood on the ship's side, quietly watching this rather touching scene.

"So, there are people who are able to say goodbye properly?"

Guina leaned back against the ship's railing, looking quite carefree, but what she said made Damian burst out laughing instantly.

"What's wrong? Didn't your teacher come to see you off again when you left Shimotsuki Village this time?"

Damian recalled that two years ago, when Guina insisted on leaving with him, the teacher's face was as black as charcoal, and he didn't even come to see them off.

Koushirou-sensei is great in every way, except that his ideas from Wano Country are too outdated and conservative.

"No,"

Kuina said casually, "But before I left, I had my first serious fight with him."

"Oh?"

Damian became interested.

"A crushing defeat."

"I never realized how strong my father was," said Kuina.

That's for sure.

Damian was convinced that his teacher, Shimotsuki Koshiro, was the true strongest swordsman in the East Blue.

He had already mastered the swordsmanship inherited from the Shimotsuki family of Wano Country.

It would be strange if Kuina could win now.

"and then?"

Damian asked with a smile.

"When I was lying on the ground and couldn't get up, my father said something similar to what you said before."

Guina turned to look at him, her gaze gentle. "He said the world is incredibly vast and told me to be careful."

"Isn't this great?"

Damian exclaimed, "Time is a great power; it can even change a stubborn teacher."

"Change?"

Kuina continued with a cold laugh, "He immediately added that as a father he hoped I would have a smooth journey, but as a swordsman he still didn't think I could achieve my dreams."

Damian burst out laughing instantly.

"One day I'll show him who's right!"

The girl's previously indifferent expression had completely vanished, and her facial features were almost distorted.

The teacher was still the same teacher. Judging from Kuina's gritted teeth, if she hadn't always been a very well-mannered young woman, she probably would have called the teacher an old man by now.

"so,"

The girl looked at her childhood sweetheart, "Damian, I'm getting ready to leave!"

Are you in such a hurry?

This girl's obsession with becoming stronger has become so deeply ingrained and unshakable.

Damian nodded slightly. "The ship and supplies in Loguetown are ready, and we've even hired an excellent doctor. We can set off as soon as we get back."

"Um."

She nodded slightly, looking quite expectant.

"I'll teach you two more moves on the way back."

Damian Road.

Since Kuina is in such a hurry, we need to hurry.

"Movement techniques?"

Guina was somewhat surprised.

"Colonel James applied to his superiors overnight for the other two moves and six techniques."

Damian made up an excuse.

Speaking of Colonel James, neither he nor his son will be going back this time.

After reporting to the superiors, the next step is to begin the investigation of Colonel Rat.

The navy will come to pick them up.

"Yeah?"

Kuina's eyes lit up instantly.

The Six Styles are a good thing.

While they were chatting, Nami had already said goodbye to the villagers.

The little girl was carrying a bag, and her eyes were a little red.

"Alright, I'm off!"

She waved to the villagers, who were just like her family, as she walked along the plank toward the boat.

"Nami! Have a safe trip!"

Behind them, Nokiko, Ken, and the others bid their final farewells.

"Miss Kuina!"

Nojiko called out to Kuina, who was standing by the ship's side, "Please make sure you protect Nami!"

Damian saw that the light above her and A-Jian's heads had condensed into seeds.

I hope Nami is safe.

"If you're so worried, then accept this."

Damian laughed and tossed something to them. "With this, we can stay in touch anytime."

Nojiko carefully caught what Damian threw at her; it was a snail with its eyes closed.

"A Den Den Mushi?"

Although I've never seen it, Nojiko knows what it is.

"Thank you, Mr. Damian."

The girl expressed her heartfelt gratitude.

It's so great to be able to contact my sister anytime.

"It's nothing."

Damian answered casually.

A Den Den Mushi (a type of electric telephone device) is nothing to him.

However, the seeds on Nokiko and A-Jian's heads showed no sign of sprouting.

It seems the mission can only be considered complete after they confirm that Nami is safe on the Grand Line.

But it doesn't matter. Green A-Jian goes without saying, and blue Nuoqi Gao is unlikely to give anything useful in return. Orange tree planting guide?

Anyway, let's head back.

Then came the moment of true parting.

A few days later, in the sea near Rogge, dark clouds gathered and torrential rain poured down.

The deafening thunder illuminated the dark sea, and the surging waves seemed poised to swallow everything in the world.

"Is that the Red Line?"

Nami, wearing a raincoat, stood with her hand on the ship's side, gazing in amazement through her binoculars at the distant end of the dark clouds, at that truly towering Wailing Wall that seemed to reach into the clouds!

"I saw it!"

She exclaimed in surprise, "Is that the canal on Upside Down Mountain? Unbelievable! The seawater is actually flowing upwards! What's the working principle behind this?!"

"Is the entrance to the Grand Line there?"

Kuina, standing beside her, had a burning gaze.

After returning from Cocoyasi Village, Kuina didn't linger. She immediately changed ships and set sail, arriving at the entrance to the Grand Line.

"That's it."

Damian held up an umbrella. "The canal leads directly to the top of Upside Down, and then downstream to Twin Gorges, from where you can choose one of seven routes to navigate."

"However, Mr. Damian,"

Nami turned around and, because of the booming thunder, tried to raise her voice, "Are you really not coming with us?"

This gentleman is much stronger than Kuina; with him by our side, we'll be much safer!

"I'll wait a little longer."

Damian Road.

Although I had indeed planned to set sail for the Grand Line, after two years of training, my physical fitness had reached its limit. If I wanted to go any further, I would have to enter the Grand Line.

But the father's sudden departure and the system's awakening disrupted everything.

Damian is not ready to enter the Grand Line immediately.

At the very least, I need to meet Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, and Luffy first, right?

"Don't worry, Nami,"

Damian said, "With Kuina's strength, as long as you don't provoke high-ranking officials of the Marine Headquarters or provoke the two Shichibukai from the first half of the Sea, Paradise should be yours to roam freely."

On the way back, with the help of the Puppet Fruit, Kuina has successfully mastered Moonwalk and Paper Drawing.

Having mastered four moves and six techniques, and combined with her original Iron-Cutting Swordsman level, Kuina has already reached the level of a Supernova.

Once he develops his domineering aura through iron blocks and paper drawing, he should be at the top level even among the supernovas, and that won't be too long.

In the first half of the Grand Line, there were indeed few rivals to be found.

I'm just afraid of offending these big shots!

Nami silently shed tears.

Having spent time together, she now knew what kind of person Guina was.

He usually seems indifferent to everything, but he is exceptionally persistent when it comes to becoming stronger.

She went to the Grand Line to challenge powerful enemies!

But crying won't help.

"I'll be waiting for you on the Grand Line!"

That's all Guina said.

"Um."

Damian nodded slightly.

There's no need to say too much; everything that needed to be said was already said on the way.

"Oh, right."

Kuina seemed to have just remembered something, "I only found out when I went back last time that Zoro had also set sail, and I don't know where he is now."

Damian sighed, "You should have said something sooner."

He said he was going back to check on Zoro, but the current situation is that Zoro probably doesn't even know where he is.

Forget it, let's wait until he makes a name for himself before we talk about it.

Anyway, have a safe trip.

"Um."

And so we part ways.

The small boat faced the storm head-on, sailing straight into the Upside-Down Mountain Canal and riding the current upwards.

Damian floated in mid-air, holding an umbrella, watching silently.

[Ding! You have received a rebate: the legendary sword Stormbreaker (available for redemption)!]

Storm Cutter?

Damian recalled for a moment.

Although for him, swords and swordsmanship were merely tools for combat, as a master swordsman, he still had some knowledge of the world's famous swords.

It seems there isn't a sword called "Storm Cutter"?

"extract."

He spoke softly.

The next instant, a katana with a brown hilt and a blue scabbard appeared in his hand.

At the same time, a flood of information about the knife came to mind.

Damian's expression turned somewhat strange. "So this is Stormbreaker."

Wasn't it already removed?
