Chapter 11: Considerations for the Next Spell

After Tony Stark announced that he was Iron Man, Nick Fury recalled Natasha Romanoff to S.H.I.E.L.D.

After all, the information they wanted to get about Tony Stark from Miller Cooper had already been released by Tony Stark himself. Furthermore, the fact that Natasha Romanoff, an outstanding agent, spent two million dollars in a single day treating her injuries after working with Dr. Miller Cooper had already demonstrated Dr. Miller Cooper's superb medical skills.

Of course, there is another possibility: that Miller Cooper was a brilliant conman.

Upon learning of this news, Nick Fury, the Black Egg, intended to recruit Miller Cooper and sent Natasha Romanoff, who volunteered to go, while he himself went to talk to the newly born superhero "Iron Man," attempting to establish some connection with this billionaire who also worked as a superhero.

Neither of them was doing well. After all, what S.H.I.E.L.D. could offer was not enough to sway Miller. Although Miller was interested in the emotional value that the senior agents in S.H.I.E.L.D. and the villains in S.H.I.E.L.D. might provide, he did not want to be constantly exposed to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s watchful eye. After all, Miller was currently incapable of any combat. If S.H.I.E.L.D. wanted to do something to Miller, he would be unable to resist at all.

Nick Fury also ran into a snag with Iron Man, since breaking into someone's house at night was hardly a wise move.

Miller was still quite puzzled looking at the 3021 emotion value displayed on his system interface. Although he was happy to receive emotion value from villains, it was incomprehensible that a weak villain like Obadiah could provide the same amount of emotion value as Iron Man and Black Widow. But it was still a good thing, and Miller was quite happy about it.

Miller, who has realized that he lacks the ability to protect himself, is already struggling with which second spell to choose.

Miller's first choice was the Dog Talisman. The Dog Talisman's immortality and immunity to death, combined with Miller's current Horse Talisman, would grant him a unique kind of invincibility—being immune to all harm and death.

But Miller, who has been watching a lot of movies and TV shows lately, discovered a film with a similar plot: an immortal witch is discovered, and people choose to seal her in an iron box and sink it to the bottom of the sea. The witch will forever be in a state of dying and resurrecting.

Miller, feeling the same way, suddenly realized that the dog charm wasn't so appealing anymore and started eyeing the monkey and rat charms.

The Monkey Talisman's power is to imbue objects with form; however, judging from the anime, it can only transform the target into an animal, not anything else. Its potential is limited, but its effects are exaggerated. Furthermore, Miller suspects that if the Monkey Talisman were leveled up to a certain point, some truly extraordinary changes might occur.

The Rat Talisman's power is to bring inanimate objects to life and imbue them with consciousness, much like the concept in the movie *Night at the Museum*. It's a perfect match for the mechs created by Tony Stark. However, the problem is that these inanimate objects, once brought to life, won't obey the talisman's commands but will act according to their own pre-defined settings. In the animated series *Jackie Chan Adventures*, the Super Moose, awakened by the Rat Talisman, would become a righteous hero, while the Feathered Serpent Statue would possess the true will and power of the feathered serpent god, and the Samurai Mask would act like General Ika. Its potential is very high, but uncontrollable.

Miller chose these two talismans instead of the powerful dragon and pig talismans because these two talismans could enhance Miller's combat power without exposing him to the public.

Miller clearly didn't want to stand out like Iron Man, but rather wanted to gain fame by concealing his identity like Spider-Man. He could even use the abilities of the two talismans to pull off some unconventional maneuvers.

Natasha felt a little disappointed by the failed recruitment attempt, but she could understand. After all, Miller was now powerful and wealthy, and he didn't like interacting with women, let alone men. There was almost nothing that could attract him at this point. Following the failure of this mission, Natasha decided to take a long leave of absence to see if she could find someone she liked and start a family with him.

Her first target was actually her old partner, Hawkeye, but unfortunately, Hawkeye had already secretly gotten married. She had to look for someone else, but finding someone like Hawkeye who didn't care about Black Widow's identity or past was quite difficult.

Tony Stark's dedication to his business empire yielded astonishing results; Stark Industries quickly became the most valuable company in the US and even the world. It's safe to say that Tony Stark truly deserves his reputation as one of the smartest people in the Marvel Universe.

As Stark Industries experienced its rapid expansion, many others gradually set their sights on this lucrative opportunity. Or rather, they had been eyeing Stark Industries for some time.

While Obadiah was still around, he handled all of this, using his seasoned skills to constantly balance the relationships between Stark Industries and various parties. However, when Stark announced the closure of its weapons division, the basis for maintaining this balance—the interests involved—was disrupted, forcing Obadiah to seek new sources of profit.

When Tony Stark showed him the effects of the Arc Reactor, he offered to sell the technology, but Tony Stark refused.

After careful consideration, he chose to fire directly, but was ultimately defeated by Tony Stark.

However, without Obadiah, these people couldn't help but try to extend their reach into Stark Industries again.

The U.S. military is a prime example.

Before Stark Industries shut down its weapons division, its largest customer was the U.S. military. With Tony Stark involved, Stark Industries' weapons were always top-notch, the only drawback being their exorbitant price.

Even the usually wealthy U.S. military felt a pang of pain, so after Stark announced the closure of its weapons division, it naturally set its sights on this "lucrative prize."

When the Jaeger's capabilities were revealed to them, they gained another target. They began manipulating various mechanisms to put pressure on Stark, attempting to force him to hand over the Jaeger's manufacturing methods.

Faced with this mountain of troubles, Stark finally understood how difficult Obadiah's situation was.

But Tony Stark, ever the brilliant Iron Man, successfully stabilized Stark Industries after a period of chaos. This left him feeling somewhat exhausted, as dealing with these troublesome matters meant Stark had almost no time left for his favorite laboratory.

After a military hearing, Tony Stark, looking at his Mark 5 armor which hadn't been upgraded in a long time, made a decision in his mind.

Soon after, Stark Industries announced that Tony Stark was stepping down as president of Stark Industries, and that Pepper would take over as the new president of Stark Industries.

After the news was released, the upward momentum of Stark's stock also slowed down.

The city of New York soon saw the emergence of a superhero who fights crime, Iron Man, and everyone knew that behind the mask was billionaire Tony Stark.

As a result, Stark Industries' stock rose again.

As Tony Stark used the Iron Man armor more and more frequently, his body once again showed signs of palladium poisoning.

Looking at the numbers displayed on the instrument, Tony Stark, completely unconcerned, put down the instrument and returned to the party to continue dancing with the beautiful blonde.

His friend, Colonel Rhodes, was unable to withstand the pressure from his superiors because the previous support for Tony Stark had caused heavy casualties within the army. He had no choice but to come to his friend.

At the party, Stark gave face to his only friend, Colonel Rhodes, leaving the blonde beauty behind to talk to him. However, upon learning that Colonel Rhodes's goal was his armor, Tony Stark refused Rhodes's request without hesitation, after all, Tony Stark had no goodwill towards the military.

The two soon parted on bad terms.

Colonel Rhodes reported his experience, and soon he was given the cold shoulder.

Seeing that they could not obtain the armor manufacturing method from Stark, the military had no choice but to turn their hopes to another source.

According to the latest information received by the military, this target is very likely currently hidden in a slum in Brazil.
