As night falls, New York City shines like a dazzling pearl in the darkness.
Manhattan's skyscrapers stand like giants, their neon lights flashing in vibrant colors, illuminating the sky with dazzling brilliance. The streets teem with traffic, the headlights weaving together like a flowing river of light. The sounds of car horns, people's laughter, and shopkeepers' calls blend into a unique urban symphony.
On the sidewalks, people hurried by: commuters heading home after a long day, couples out shopping, and tourists visiting New York. They wandered between stores, admiring the exquisite goods in the windows. The street-side cafes were packed, the air filled with the aroma of coffee. In the square, children played and laughed by the fountain, while elderly people sat on benches chatting, enjoying a moment of tranquility amidst the bustling city.
Looking down from the high-rise buildings, New York City resembles a giant stage, with everyone an actor, collectively performing the story of New York. This bustling scene makes it impossible to feel any trace of the great battle three months prior; it's as if nothing ever happened.
A red and black figure suddenly appeared from the top of the building. A semi-transparent spider silk could be vaguely seen on his wrist, connecting him to another building. He seemed to want to use this spider silk as a fulcrum for his movement, but the spider silk seemed unable to support his weight and suddenly broke in mid-air.
With a loud "thud," the figure crashed into the trash can.
After a while, the figure reluctantly climbed out of the garbage heap. Because the mask on his head was covered with a lot of garbage, he had to take it off and hold it in his hand.
If Miller were there, he would easily recognize the figure in front of him as Peter Parker, the third Spider-Man he had just mentioned.
Peter Parker has been having a great time lately. Ever since he was bitten by a strange spider during a school visit to the Osborn Corporation, he has gained unparalleled superpowers.
He's no longer the bookish nerd who couldn't even kill a chicken.
Through experiments, he discovered that he had become incredibly strong, able to lift his bed with ease, react quickly, catch other people's basketballs with ease, and feel that everything in front of him had become slow.
Is there anything luckier than this for a high school student?
Upon discovering his superpowers, Peter Parker's first thought was to make money, since Aunt May was the only one working in his family, and she had already worked hard to raise him.
Peter Parker's first goal is to sign up for "Miller's Game," believing that with his superpowers, winning the game should be a piece of cake.
The million dollars from winning the championship would not only solve his and Meryl Streep's financial difficulties and ease Meryl Streep's burden, but also give him more time and energy to pursue his dreams.
But when he was about to sign up, he discovered that he was not old enough to meet the requirements. They only accepted adults between the ages of twenty and forty. Peter Parker was disappointed and had to try other ways to make money.
However, because of his age, almost all legitimate professions rejected his job application.
Peter Parker had no choice but to choose a place where age didn't matter and he could still make a lot of money.
Underground boxing match.
He believed that his immense strength and unparalleled reaction speed were enough to defeat any ordinary person.
Looking at Captain America's message on his phone, Peter Parker thought that maybe even Captain America wasn't a match for him.
The problem was that he couldn't find any underground boxing rings in New York.
He first searched online, but after entering keywords such as "New York underground boxing matches," all he found were irrelevant information, either past news reports or fake gossip. He tried posting questions on some forums, but the posts were quickly deleted, as if an invisible hand was preventing him from obtaining this information.
With no other option, he could only spend some time each night wandering around New York, hoping to find a place to host an underground boxing match.
But his first attempt was unsuccessful; the web-shooter he had developed was not sturdy and malfunctioned on his first outing, causing Peter to fall.
The little spider, feeling unlucky, could only go home, wash the tight-fitting suit it had sewn, and then try to develop more stable spider silk.
As if things weren't bad enough, Peter never expected that his appearance would attract attention.
"Robbery! Hand over all your valuables!"
Peter, who was feeling frustrated, shrugged. Well, now he had someone to vent his anger on.
A moment later, Peter unexpectedly learned about the underground boxing match from the bruised and battered robber.
After tying the robber up with spider silk and throwing him at the police station entrance, Peter Parker, filled with excitement and nervousness, arrived at the abandoned factory according to the address given by the thug.
The area outside the factory was desolate, overgrown with weeds, and the walls were covered with mottled rust. It was quiet all around, with only the occasional sound of the wind and the distant sound of vehicles passing by.
Peter Parker cautiously entered the factory and discovered a completely different world inside. The factory interior had been renovated, with a makeshift boxing ring set up in the center and some dilapidated chairs placed around it.
A large crowd had already gathered below the stage, their expressions varied, some were excited, and some looked fierce.
Peter Parker felt a little uneasy when he saw these people, but the thought of making money here gave him the courage to go in.
He quickly located the organizer of the competition using his keen ears and explained his purpose.
The organizer looked him up and down with a hint of suspicion in his eyes, after all, Peter was just a high school student who looked very young.
But Peter Parker's determined gaze and confident attitude made the organizers waver. Ultimately, after Peter Parker's repeated assurances, the organizers agreed to let him participate in the competition. After all, he was just a high school student; even if he died, they could just dump him somewhere, and if he won, they could easily renege on their debt.
Peter Parker was thrilled. He had finally found the venue for the underground boxing match and finally had the opportunity to prove his strength and bring about a change in his and Aunt May's lives.
When Peter arrived at the waiting area, the other competitors, looking at his thin frame and baby face, were filled with anticipation that he would be their next opponent. Some even began to pray.
The game went very quickly, and Peter didn't have to wait long before it was his turn to play.
The remaining contestants sighed as they watched Peter leave. They had missed a chance to easily defeat their weaker opponents.
