Chapter 67 Hell's Kitchen

Led by Peter, the three drove the luxury car toward Daredevil Matt's law firm.

Although Miller thought Tony didn't need to come along at all, Tony didn't think so. He felt it was necessary to meet a superhero who was highly skilled in martial arts, exceptionally intelligent, and walked the line of the law.

When the two supercars drove into Hell's Kitchen, a notorious slum in New York, a suffocating atmosphere immediately enveloped them.

There are hardly any high-rise buildings here; instead, there are dilapidated factories and simple residential buildings. Garbage is everywhere on the streets, and a pungent smell permeates the air.

Gamblers, drunkards, and drug addicts gathered in the streets and alleys, eyeing the luxury car with greedy eyes and trying to follow the three on motorcycles. Tony frowned as he looked at the scene in the rearview window, temporarily released the steering wheel, and after operating the watch on his left wrist for a few moments, activated his armor.

Tony then extended his armored hand out the window and slammed the tire of an approaching car into the air, making the men realize that the person inside was not someone to be trifled with. Only then did the men retreat, cursing under their breath.

"Peter, try to avoid coming to this place as much as possible in the future," Tony advised Peter, who was sitting in the passenger seat. Tony admired Peter, a young man full of a sense of justice, but also felt sorry for him, worried that something bad might happen to him here.

"But Mr. Stark, this is the place with the most crime, and the people here are the ones who need the most help." Peter's voice carried a hint of stubbornness. Just as he had said before, he felt that since he had superpowers, he had a responsibility to help those living in suffering.

Peter understood perfectly well that Hell's Kitchen was indeed a dangerous place, but the people there also needed his help.

Those living in poverty and crime yearn for someone to bring them hope and change.

Peter felt that he was the one who could bring them hope, and he could not back down because of fear of danger.

Looking at the stubborn little Spider-Man before him, Tony swallowed his words and patted his head. "Alright, Peter, since you've made up your mind, I can only remind you to be careful. If you encounter any danger, contact me immediately, and I'll be there for you."

As for Miller in the other car, he wasn't very familiar with this place either. Although he woke up in this place and stayed for almost four months, perhaps because of the alien invasion, this place was very different from the place in Miller's memory.

Strictly speaking, it was only for a month. After all, he was locked up in the gang for three out of the four months. Although the gang members didn't really lay a hand on Miller because they needed him for treatment, and he got almost everything he wanted, Miller still found it hard to develop a liking for the place.

Thinking back to where I lived in my previous life, it was a quiet and peaceful town where people lived in harmony, and life, though simple, was full of happiness. The biggest problems I faced were work, marriage, and having children.

Regardless of the latter two questions, the first question isn't even a problem. After all, wherever you are, as long as you're willing to work, there will always be something to do.

The streets of Hell's Kitchen are shrouded in gloom, never bathed in sunlight. It's a breeding ground for crime, where violence, robbery, drug trafficking, and other offenses flourish like weeds. Those who live here never know when they might die.

At the same time, this place has attracted a large influx of migrants, including those who have been illegally immigrated or trafficked. Gangs of all sizes have taken root here, and the New York City government has almost abandoned this area. It is more under the rule of gangs than under the rule of the New York government. It is a place without hope.

During the reconstruction of New York City, Stark Industries handled almost all of the reconstruction work, except for Hell's Kitchen, whose reconstruction was contracted to an unknown company.

From Pepper Potts, Tony learned that the owner of the company was named Kingpin, a famous philanthropist.

Tony had heard that Kingpin was the boss of the underground kitchen, and almost all the gangs obeyed him. Driven by curiosity, he asked Jarvis to look into Kingpin.

This investigation revealed that Kingpin was indeed a talented individual.

Kingpin's real name was Wilson Fisk, and his rise to power was fraught with bloodshed and intrigue.

Kingpin grew up in a broken home, and the unhappiness of his childhood became the seeds of darkness within him.

As Kingpin grew up, he began to make a name for himself in the New York underworld with his extraordinary courage and wisdom.

He started with small-scale criminal activities, such as street robbery and extortion, and gradually built up his power and wealth.

During this process, he met a group of like-minded criminals, and together they formed a criminal gang.

As its power continued to grow, Kingpin began to set its sights on larger markets.

He used various means to acquire some small criminal organizations and bring them under his control.

He also established connections with some foreign criminal gangs, expanding his business scope.

Soon his criminal empire expanded to include drug trafficking, arms dealing, smuggling, human trafficking, and other areas; he did whatever made money.

He constantly bribed and threatened the police and politicians, making them protect his illegal activities. With this carrot-and-stick approach, his business spread almost all over the United States, and the underground kitchen business was just one part of his many businesses.

It's fair to say that Kingpin is practically the underground emperor of New York!

As for having Tony put on the suit to defeat Kingpin?

Tony did have this idea, but relying solely on Jarvis, the intelligent butler's analysis and deductions, without solid evidence, to arrest a famous philanthropist would be illegal in the United States!

Although he had actually committed many illegal acts, he still did not want to continue to test the fragile nerves of those politicians.

Furthermore, Tony wasn't sure if destroying Kingpin's criminal empire would cause even greater chaos, since for ordinary people, bad order is always better than no order at all.

As for using Miller's method of directly pushing Kingpin's criminal evidence to the entire internet and letting everyone know, Tony doesn't think this method won't be opposed by some people. After all, how many people in high positions have clean hands?

When the three arrived at Matt's law firm, although they had expected it, Tony still couldn't help but complain when he saw the shabby place: "Who would have thought that this is the place where a law doctor who graduated from Columbia University works?"

Clearly, after learning Matt's name from Peter, Tony immediately instructed Jarvis to start researching Matt, and they successfully discovered Matt's true identity.

"Mr. Stark, could you please change your habit of investigating other people's experiences beforehand?" Miller recalled the first time they met.
