Chapter 103 Riding the Waves, But the Gambo

Tokiwa Academy, 17:35 PM.

As usual, Riko learned about Pokémon in class, and in the afternoon she trained with Nebby by the lake.

"New Leaf Cat, a leaf!"

"Meow (yawn)."

Shin-chan yawned and ignored Riko's command.

"Commanding is pointless," Rico smiled awkwardly and offered encouragement.

"It's okay, Shin-chan. You can be motivated whenever you want."

"Ha~".

Today is the last day of the semester, and the students have all boarded the bus home. Riko, whose home is in Padia, has chosen to stay at the academy for the summer vacation.

She sat down on the grass, stroked Xinye Miao's fur, looked at the sunset on the lake, and pondered how to spend her summer vacation.

"I've made a few friends at the academy, though not many, just one."

Rico was talking to herself, but she was actually talking about her roommate.

Despite my best efforts at socializing, I still didn't make many new friends by the end of the semester. However, getting to know An is one of the few people I've managed to complete my project.

However, Ann went back to her hometown, and Lico will be living a long time without seeing anyone again.

Although I've gotten used to living alone, I'm finding it a little difficult to adjust now.

"But thankfully Shin-chan is here. What should we do during summer vacation?"

"Meow~?"

Xin Ye Miao tilted her head.

Rico scratched her cheek and laughed awkwardly.

"Yeah, I don't know where Shin-chan is going to play either. I still know nothing about the Kanto region."

Rico shook her head, correcting herself.

"No, it should be that I still know nothing about this world and haven't made much progress."

Thinking about her childhood, Rico paused for a moment, then picked up Rotom's phone and opened her friends list.

"By the way, Mr. Ye Luo should still be in the Kanto region, right? Let's ask him."

.

Rico has gotten into the habit of asking Ye Luo questions whenever she has one, as chatting on her phone is much smoother than talking face-to-face.

Just as I was about to send a text message, a strange voice came from the forest.

"You must be Miss Riko, right?"

A tall, thin young man with black and white hair, wearing a suit, emerged from behind the tree.

Riko was a little surprised, as this secret place should only be known to her and Shin-chan, but she still answered honestly when asked.

"Yes, and who are you?"

The man bowed politely and said.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Amegio. Your grandmother sent me here regarding that pendant."

Upon hearing about the pendant, Rico immediately became alert.

The man, however, urged her to calm down.

"Listen to me, Miss Riko, your grandmother is a great adventurer, and she's currently tied up with an exploration mission."

She asked me to take the pendant to her; the situation might be urgent. If she's worried, she can come with me.

"Meow~!"

New Leaf Cat immediately assumed a fighting stance, and Riko picked it up.

"New Leaf Cat, you can't be mean to others."

"Meow~.. (frowning)."

She was still suspicious of the person in front of her, but Rico herself was unsure what to do.

Knowing about the pendant makes it seem like they have inside information.

However, her grandmother had warned her not to give the pendant to anyone, so after thinking it over, Rico decided to lie.

"The pendant isn't with me; I need to go to my dorm to get it."

Amegio shifted his gaze, sighed, and said.

"Please believe me, Ms. Diana is in a dangerous situation right now. That pendant could affect the investigation mission."

Rico took a half step back. Although it was just a gut feeling, she still didn't trust the man in front of her.

Seeing her like this, Amegio sighed.

"All I had to do was honestly hand over the pendant."

Most of the teachers and students at the academy are not here now; he has already arranged for someone to search Riko's dormitory.

The pendant wasn't found, so it could only be on her.

Riko sensed something was wrong, picked up Shin-chan, and ran away.

"Stop her, Azure Flame Blade Demon."

Emerging from Riko's shadow, the Azure Flame Blade Demon, its hand adorned with a flaming blade, blocked Riko's path.

"You and Grandma are definitely not on the same wavelength, are you?"

"Hand over the pendant, and you'll be no threat."

Amegio only cares about the mission; whether it's obtained peacefully or by force is irrelevant.

Rico reached into her chest and took out the pendant.

"Is this it?"

"That's right, just give it to me."

Hey!

Rico threw the pendant directly into the lake, leaving Eminem stunned.

"Azure Flame Blade Demon, go and get it."

Undeterred, Azure Flame Blade Demon charged through the lake and ran to where the pendant had landed.

However, the pendant spun around in place, and a glowing leaf carried it back.

It floated back into Rico's hands.

"New Leaf Cat's leaves are so pretty, run!"

"Meow~".

Riko and Shin-chan turned to run away, but a strong gust of wind suddenly blew them away, knocking Riko to the ground.

A deep blue Armored Raven unleashed a storm, subduing the students who were trying to escape.

"Hmph, trying to be clever."

Emegio had already prepared a backup plan. The massive body of Corviknight blocked her retreat, leaving Riko with nowhere to escape. "Hand over the pendant obediently, and you won't have to suffer."

Rico held onto the pendant tightly, showing that she had become much braver than she had been six months ago and was no longer as hesitant as before.

"Meow~".

Newleaf also got into a battle stance, although as a young Pokémon, its chances of winning against Blaze and Corviknight were practically zero.

But it is ready to fight for its trainers.

Riko and Shin-chan are both prepared to fight to the very end, which makes Emegio admire them.

"My mission was simply to retrieve the pendant. I didn't need to fight you, and I have no interest in bullying the weak."

Unfortunately, Riko wasn't going to hand over what he wanted, so the mission was always the top priority. Even if she wasn't keen on bullying the weak, she could only fight an unfair Pokémon battle to teach the disobedient kid a lesson.

However, another voice then offered a better solution: a voice coming from the lake.

"If you're so unwilling to fight the weak, how about fighting me instead?"

"Mr. Ye Luo?"

Rico's eyes widened in surprise.

White water flowers bloom on the lake's surface, and the Emerald Growlithe stands on the path woven from these flowers.

Ye Luo said from the back of the Arcanine, silently watching the two people and Pokémon on the shore.

"How can the Jade Golem stand on the water?"

Ye Luo, of course, wouldn't explain the reason, even though it was very simple.

Ancient musical pieces have many uses.

Although Amegion didn't understand, he did understand that the other party would try to stop him, so he immediately commanded his Pokémon "Azure Striker, Psychic Blade".

With its arms crossed in front of its chest, the Azure Flame Blade Demon's blade blazed with purplish-blue spiritual energy. It swung it twice in the air before striking towards Arcanine.

Ye Luo threw out a Poké Ball, and Umbreon jumped out and crushed the incoming Psychic Blade. Then, stepping on the petals, it leaped up, its body surging with ghostly blue energy, and used [Transplant] to crash into Azure Flame Blade Ghost.

Ghost energy produces peculiar effects; the higher the attack of the Pokémon that takes damage, the greater the damage. Umbreon defeated Blademaster in one hit.

Amegio had no time to be surprised; this opponent was clearly difficult to deal with, so he immediately gave orders to Corviknight.

"Corvus Ark, take Riko away."

"Gah!"

Just as Corviknight was about to extend its claws, it was knocked away by Arcanine, which appeared in front of it in an instant. After crashing into it with incredible speed, Ye Luo shouted.

"Rico, come up here."

"Um."

Arcanine lowered its body, and Riko and Shinyori jumped onto Arcanine. Yelu grabbed her and placed her in front of it.

"Wow!"

"It's not safe for the little kids to sit in the back, come back, Umbreon."

The Poké Ball was recalled to Umbreon. Ye Luo had no intention of fighting and Arcanine turned and ran towards the lake, stepping on the petals as it sped along the waterway.

As Amegio watched his target run away into the distance, he silently took out a Poké Ball and recalled the heavily injured Blademaster and Corviknight.

A short while later, Coral arrived riding the Ice Ghost Guard to meet him. Seeing that Emegio's hands were empty, she knew that his mission had failed.

"Poker face, where's the kid?"

"She was rescued by a trainer riding an Arcanine, from the water."

"Huh? On the water?!"
