Hogwarts: The Witch Education Handbook
Chapter 73 A teacher's duty is to impart knowledge, instruct in skills, and resolve doubts.
Before Hermione could finish speaking, Sean simply waved his wand.
An invisible barrier was placed over the two people's invisibility cloaks, and the flames seemed to come alive, desperately trying to escape the barrier's range.
The two of them strolled past the flames as if nothing had happened.
Even at this moment, Sean did not forget his teaching duties as a professor: "This spell is a fire-repelling spell, somewhat similar to the head-bubbling spell, but with a wider range. The incantation is 'Flames begone'."
Hermione was still in shock and simply nodded blankly.
To be honest, seeing Hermione's expression, Sean felt a little smug.
You could say he was too inexperienced, too young, and too naive, but you can't deny that it felt really good to be stared at by a pretty little girl with such admiring eyes.
Sean believes that even when he is seventy or eighty years old, he will still feel happy in this situation.
What's more, this level was set up by Snape.
If Snape used Fiendfyre in front of him, Sean might give way.
But he's not even here, he's just left behind a few flames, so why should Sean take a detour for him?
The two, cloaked in invisibility, walked down a long corridor and arrived at the door of the next room. Harry didn't close the door, and when he saw Quirrell, his mind went completely blank.
Sean and Hermione happened to be there during the segment where the two were "chatting" with each other.
This seems to be a process that every villain has to go through—providing free answers to the protagonist's questions.
The main goal is to ensure the opponent has no regrets before they die.
The two quietly hid in a corner, watching the farce unfold before their eyes.
Hermione didn't dare to breathe, afraid that her actions would expose the two of them.
Sean then pulled out his carefully prepared prop—a recording stone.
As the name suggests, a photo stone is a stone that, like a camera, can clearly record what is happening in front of you.
He used one chance in order to redeem the item from the cheat item shop.
Of course, he never does anything that involves only giving without receiving anything in return.
There should be a reward for every effort; this is an eternal truth, isn't it?
The example of those unscrupulous capitalists in France who refused to pay their workers, hanging from streetlights hundreds of years ago, is still fresh in our minds.
At this point, Harry and Quirrell's conversation was drawing to a close.
"But I thought it was Snape—" Harry said hesitantly.
"Snape?" Quirrell's reaction was a burst of laughter, a laughter unlike his usual sharp, shrill trill; it carried a chilling, terrifying quality.
"Indeed, Snape's appearance is quite misleading, isn't it? He soars through the night sky like a giant bat, which ironically provides perfect cover for us. With him drawing attention ahead, who could suspect—poor—poor—stuttering—Professor Quirrell?"
Harry simply couldn't accept it; he thought it was too absurd and could never be real.
"But Snape tried to kill me!" Harry retorted.
"No, no, no, I was the one who wanted to kill you. Remember that Quidditch match? A fire suddenly broke out somewhere, interrupting my gaze. In fact, I only needed to maintain my gaze for a few more seconds to throw you off your flying broom. If Snape hadn't been there casting a breaking spell to try and save you, you would be dead already."
When the two were discussing this topic, Hermione looked up at Sean.
As expected, they misunderstood Professor Sean.
How could the gentle and refined Professor Sean possibly collude with Snape—no, Quirrell?
But then again, if that's the truth, then Ron's actions just now...
Thinking of this, Hermione closed her eyes and silently mourned for Ron for three seconds.
Three seconds, just three seconds, she still wants to keep watching the drama unfold.
"Snape wants to save me?" Harry asked in astonishment.
“Indeed,” Quirrell replied dismissively. “Why do you think he officiated your second match? He did it to make sure I didn’t have another chance to hurt you. Ironically… He didn’t have to do it anyway. With Dumbledore around, there was nothing I could do. The other professors all thought Snape was trying to stop Gryffindor from winning, which made him very unpopular… But that’s beside the point. The important thing is that I’m going to end your life tonight.”
Quirrell suddenly snapped his fingers, and several ropes appeared out of thin air, tightly binding Harry.
"You're too nosy, Potter. I can't let you live any longer. I knew you saw me wandering around the school on Halloween Eve, because you saw me checking out the Philosopher's Stone."
"Did you let that troll in?"
"Of course that's true..."
For some reason, when Hermione, the only victim of that troll incident, heard the hidden truth behind it, she thought she would be very angry, but she was not as angry as she expected.
If it weren't for that incident, she wouldn't have been with Professor Sean...
Hermione even started to wonder if she would still go to the women's restroom back then if she could turn back time.
This seemed like an absurd question to her, and Hermione didn't know why she had such an idea.
Moreover, up to this point, she has not learned about any spells or alchemical items related to time reversal from any book.
While Hermione was still pondering, Quirrell had already begun studying the Mirror of Erised.
"This mirror is the key to finding the Philosopher's Stone," Quirrell murmured, tapping along the edges of the frame. "Only Dumbledore could produce something like this... but he's in London right now... by the time he returns, I'll be long gone..."
As he spoke, Quirrell had already circled the mirror two or three times, staring intently at his reflection with greedy eyes.
"I see the Philosopher's Stone... I'm offering it to my master... but where is it hidden?"
Harry tried desperately to break free from the ropes binding him, but they only tightened around him.
He must stop Quirrell from focusing all his attention on the magic mirror.
"But Snape always seemed to hate me so much."
“Oh, he does hate you,” Quirrell said casually. “Good heavens, of course he hates you. Didn’t you know he went to Hogwarts with your father? They were sworn enemies. But he would never have wanted you dead.”
Why would you...?
