Chapter 35 Harley's Magic

Chapter 35 Harley's Magic

"It's a pity there are no private rooms."

Xuexi sat next to Connors, looking at the stage surrounded by trees with a hint of regret.

"It's a stadium, so it's normal that there aren't any VIP boxes. There are rooms for commentators, though," Connors said.

"Then—do you want to go?" Xuexi's eyes were alluring, and her voice became hazy.

Connors, who had been working hard all night, was still in a state of wakefulness and instinctively refused upon hearing the suggestion:

"It gets boring if you do it too often."

"I'm wearing something very sexy—"

Xuexi continued to whisper seductively in Connors' ear.

"—Swimsuit?" Connors chimed in.

Unfortunately, Yuki didn't understand the joke, so she just blinked her eyes, which seemed about to overflow with tears, and corrected her:

"It's a uniform~"

If they kept chatting like this, Xuexi would eventually become too attached to him, so Connors quickly changed the subject:

"Who is the magician you invited to perform this time? I remember you said yesterday that she was a beautiful female magician."

We'll talk about the uniforms tonight.

Xuexi gritted her teeth. "You're ignoring the star singer right in front of you, and you're eyeing that beautiful magician you only mentioned once last night?"

An inexplicable feeling welled up inside her, and she felt somewhat sullen.

"Her name is quite rare, so I wrote it down. It's called Zatanna Zatara, and she's a very professional stage magician."

It wasn't Harley Quinn, but the magician would soon be replaced by Harley. Connors breathed a sigh of relief. But then again, it made sense; Harley and Sheryl had only met three times on the day of the concert.

Once it was Xuexi on stage, once it was Xuexi being bound by "Spider Silk" Cindy Muen, and once it was Xuexi being bound by "Poison Ivy" Ivy.

Harley and Sheryl barely had any interaction, so it's highly unlikely that Sheryl would invite Harley to perform magic.

As for the magic show Harley Quinn mentioned, she probably just overheard someone talking about it on the way home last night and was just trying to stir up some trouble.

After silently offering a couple of prayers for the beautiful magician named "Zatanna Zatara," Connors quickly realized something was amiss:

You've prayed to the wrong person!

I didn't even recognize the name Zatanna Zatara right away!

One of the most powerful sorcerers in the DC Universe!

Harley Quinn should be the one being prayed for.

As he realized that the magician was such a formidable figure, enthusiastic applause erupted from the surrounding audience.

A spotlight shone directly down on the stage, and a beautiful figure appeared out of nowhere under the spotlight.

Amid applause, Zatanna smiled, removed her hat, bowed to the audience, and then reached out and pulled a mirror from the darkness beyond the reach of the spotlight.

Clearly, her appearance out of thin air was a "visual illusion" achieved through the mirror; it was genuine magic, not the kind of magic Connors believed.

Magicians typically perform a few relatively simple magic tricks on stage first, and then personally expose their deception.

This serves two purposes: firstly, to warm up the audience, and secondly, to prepare for the actual performance that will follow.

Zatanna on stage was no exception. She used various magic tricks, such as white doves flying out of her hat and bending the spotlight beam at will, to win cheers and applause. Then she began to set up her stage in a mysterious manner.

As the audience's anticipation gradually rose after the previous few seemingly simple visual magic tricks, which Zatanna herself did not expose and no one in the audience could detect, the audience's expectations were gradually raised.

And because Zatanna was wearing a swallowtail evening gown, a black magician's hat, and a white shirt underneath,

Two long legs were encased in black stockings, along with a pair of black high-heeled over-the-knee leather boots.

The magic tricks, combined with Zatanna's stunning appearance, left the audience eagerly anticipating the next performance.

The magic performance was entirely silent; the name of the magic trick was displayed on a large screen on the stage, and the upcoming act was a classic "disappearing act."

"So you like black stockings—." Xuexi watched Connors staring intently at the stage, and secretly decided to wear another set of black stockings under her uniform that night.

Connors reached out and ruffled the hair of Xuexi, who was clearly jealous, while his gaze remained fixed on the stage.

Of all the people he has met so far, Zatanna, who is performing magic on stage, has the most striking features and is a very classic Western beauty.

Her thighs, encased in black stockings, were perfectly plump and looked incredibly elastic.

No, instead of looking at the legs, I should be looking at the box now.

Connors shifted his gaze from Zatanna to the box that had been moved from backstage for the "disappearance act."

"Guess what hair color this magician will conjure up?" Connors asked Xuexi, whose mood had clearly improved after being patted on the head.

"You can't have mixed black and white hair like me, can you?" Xuexi said haphazardly, listening to the topic that Connors seemed to have brought up casually.

"No, but I bet a little lunatic with red and blue pigtails will soon crawl out of that box," Connors said.

On stage, Zatanna waved a small stick in the air, striking a pose like a magician, before opening the box to show the audience.

There was no one inside.

She also randomly selected two lucky audience members to come on stage—not to kill them, but to have them check if the box contained any mechanisms, mirrors, or similar tools.

The two lucky audience members were overjoyed to be able to get up close and personal with the beautiful magician. They obediently checked the box and gave a thumbs-up to the others in the audience, indicating that there were no problems.

There was a little incident in the middle when one of the audience members tried to get handsy, but flames suddenly shot out from Zatanna's tuxedo, burning the guy so much that he screamed.

Still smiling, he showed the audience the fire-starting device hidden inside his clothes, explaining that it was just a magic trick. After letting two lucky audience members return to their seats, the magic show "The Great Disappearance" officially began.

She closed the box after the audience had checked it and confirmed that there were no problems, then placed it on a four-legged table and covered it with a red cloth.

If all goes well during the performance, a living person will appear inside the box after the red cloth is lifted.

And they interacted with the audience.

Amid the expectant gazes of the audience, Zatanna waved her magic wand, but before she could even begin to deceive them by revealing the red cloth, it flew off.

The red cloth, which should have been slowly unveiled, flew out like that, and Connors could even see that underneath it was something that looked like a rocket.

Zatanna looked somewhat stunned; clearly, this scene was not part of her performance.

As the red cloth was lifted, the box exploded with a bang, scattering wood chips everywhere. Harley Quinn, with her red and blue pigtails, wearing a red, black, and gold vest, and her thighs covered by black stockings, made a dazzling appearance.

"The next magic trick will be performed by Harley Quinn!"

Harley Quinn dusted off the remaining wood chips from her body, and then with a loud bang, a huge, heavy metal cage fell from the sky, completely engulfing Zatanna who was standing next to her.

"After the transformation, what we need to do now is make those living people disappear into thin air!"

So, you're going to slaughter everyone, huh? It's not like you're going to flatten Zatanna into a pancake, Connors's prayer object has changed to Zatanna again.

At this moment, the "Green of All Things" within his body hummed. Before he could react, Xuexi, sitting beside him, spoke first with a look of surprise:

"Look, it's blooming!"

Countless plants that had been prepared in advance to protect the crowd at Connors began to bloom, and a variety of fragrances quickly filled the enclosed stadium.

This had nothing to do with Connors, but he knew that "Poison Ivy" Ivy had arrived.
