Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?

Chapter 452 Magic Powered Bulls and Horses

Ever since the Defense Against the Dark Arts teaching method became a disposable teaching tool, Dumbledore has spent every summer searching for a new teacher.

Aside from Quirinus Quirrell and Severus Snape, almost no one would willingly apply for this cursed position; no one wanted to encounter an accident.

In the summer of 1992, Gilderoy Lockhart accepted the offer because he was blinded by fame and fortune. He wanted to use the fame of the boy who survived the ordeal to elevate his own career and attract more attention.

In the summer of 1993, Remus Lupin returned to the school to get closer to Harry, the son of an old friend, and also to Sirius Black, an old friend who had just escaped from Azkaban.

In the summer of 1994, the outstanding Auror Alastor Moody, who had been retired for many years, returned to the scene to monitor his former Death Eater Igor Karkaroff and prevent anyone from deliberately sabotaging the Triwizard Tournament.

This summer, Dumbledore embarked on his usual search for new faculty and staff, but this time he had two plans.

Firstly, as is customary, they will look for someone willing to fill the vacancy for the Defense Against the Dark Arts position.

Secondly, find Horace Slughorn and invite this old friend back to Hogwarts to resume his position as Potions Professor.

As for Snape, the original Potions professor, Dumbledore decided to grant him his small wish and have him become the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for the new school year.

However, things didn't go as planned. Dumbledore couldn't find a suitable candidate, nor could he find his old friend Horace Slughorn.

In this hot and turbulent summer, Professor Slughorn, the old headmaster of Slytherin, seemed to have vanished into thin air. His relatives and friends had no idea where he had gone; there was no trace of him, and no news of him.

Just when Dumbledore was at his wit's end, a key figure appeared.

Kareddy Bubbaggie, who had previously applied for a teaching position at Hogwarts, found Dumbledore.

Bubbaje reiterated her willingness to replace Belvina as the Muggle Studies professor for the new school year to Dumbledore.

Kerridine Boubagi applied for the position back in 1991, but was unsuccessful because a competitor came through the back door.

Now that her former rival has become the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Bubbage naturally assumes that a position in the Muggle Studies Department will become available, giving her a chance to showcase her talents.

What does it mean to be in the right place at the right time? This is what it means to be in the right place at the right time!

The arrival of Kerrigan Boubagi provided Dumbledore with entirely new ideas.

What difference does it make whether you teach Muggle research or Defense Against the Dark Arts if you can keep Belvina at the school?

Dumbledore slapped his thigh and made the decision: Kareddy Bubbaggie would be the professor of Muggle Studies, and Belvina would be the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts.

As for whether Professor Black would die from overwork, Dumbledore hadn't considered that question. He believed that Belvina was capable of managing her work hours reasonably and wouldn't die suddenly at her post.

The ruthless headmaster immediately found the magically powered bull and horse and congratulated her on becoming the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for the new school year.

That night, if it weren't for Bathsheda's strong opposition, Belvina would never have let Dumbledore leave Fertile Ground unharmed.

Although Belvina also held two positions last academic year, it was because her main job at the time was the Triwizard Tournament, which allowed her to manage both positions with some spare time.

This year is different. Belvina has been transferred to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement as its director. Her main work revolves around the Ministry of Magic and the fight against Voldemort, making it difficult for her to focus on teaching at the school.

If it were a Muggle studies class, Belvina could grit her teeth and bear it, treating it as telling her students a boastful little story every week.

After all, Muggle studies is a bleak field of study, and students who don't want to work in a Muggle-related field after graduation don't have to study it, but Defense Against the Dark Arts is different.

Defense Against the Dark Arts is a core subject at Hogwarts and a compulsory course for students. In class, students learn how to resist all types of dark magic and dark creatures, and even how to duel.

Moreover, now is a time of great crisis and powerful enemies, and the students need a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor who has enough time and energy to guide them.

Belvina believed that she did not have enough energy and time, and that she was not suitable for this important task.

However, Dumbledore thought Belvina was very suitable and insisted on keeping her at the school to teach and educate students.

In order to persuade Belvina to stay, Dumbledore sacrificed the time and energy of another horse and ox, and threw Snape into the mix.

"Severus," Dumbledore said, "if you feel you lack time and energy, I think Severus would be more than happy to offer you the necessary assistance."

In recent years, Snape has helped several Defense Against the Dark Arts professors, including Quirrell, who attempted to steal, Lockhart, who was imprisoned, and Lupin during a special period.

Severus Snape started earlier than Belvina on the path to becoming a Magic Power bull, and he's already come a long way.

"I disagree! This is nonsense, Professor!" Belvina objected firmly. "Since Severus is so eager to help, let him teach Defense Against the Dark Arts!"

"Then what about Potions?" Dumbledore asked. "Why don't you teach the students Potions?"

""

"Severus can do both jobs, he's fine, he'll definitely do it." Belvina's heart was just as black; she couldn't be a beast of burden, but Snape could.

"Then what about the situation outside the school?" Dumbledore asked again. "Severus is the only one we can trust; he is irreplaceable."

At Hogwarts, Snape is the Head of Slytherin House and a Professor of Potions.

Outside of Hogwarts, Snape was a member of the Order of the Phoenix, a Death Eater under Voldemort, and a spy planted by Dumbledore within Voldemort's inner circle.

Compared to Snape, Belvina's workload doesn't seem so heavy; she seems to have plenty of time and energy. Severus, the true king of part-time jobs, Snape.

"If it's just covering for someone else, I think Severus can manage, but teaching two courses by himself is definitely not something he can handle," Dumbledore continued. "Belvina, staying at the school to continue teaching is my only request of you."

"Why?" Belvina asked. "Shouldn't we be focusing all our efforts on defeating the Dark Lord right now? Why do I have to go back to teaching at the school?"

"Because I feel that nothing is more gratifying than seeing the thirst for knowledge in the eyes of children," Dumbledore said. "Passing on magical skills to young people is even more important than defeating Tom."

For a fleeting moment, Belvina thought Dumbledore had gone senile. If he couldn't defeat Voldemort, was there any point in Hogwarts existing?

Fortunately, Belvina quickly realized that Dumbledore wanted to pass on more than just magical skills; teaching was just a means, and nurturing people was the goal.

Dumbledore continued, "No matter what you do outside of school, when you return, I believe the youthful faces of the students will help you wash away your weariness and get back on your feet."

As he spoke, Dumbledore's blue eyes, hidden behind his glasses, darted to look at Bathsheda beside him.

He continued to Belvina, "Also, you live alone in the Fertile Plains. Bassheda must be worried about you. Do you want to see her constantly concerned for you?"

First, he presented the facts and reasoned with her, then he used the relationship between Belvina and Basilda as a pretext. Dumbledore truly lived up to his reputation as a cunning old fox.

Belvina was hard to resist, but she still didn't want to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts; she didn't want to mislead her students.

Seeing the hesitation on Belvina's face, Dumbledore spoke again, saying, "How about this: when you feel tired or your schedule clashes, I can teach the students in your place."

If you were to ask who in the world is the most skilled in Defense Against the Dark Arts, the answer would be without a doubt—Albus Dumbledore.

"Am I doing a good job for the students?" Belvina thought to herself.

"Many years ago, Tom, returning from his travels, applied to me for the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts, and I refused him," Dumbledore continued. "Since then, no professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts has served more than a year."

Dumbledore looked at Belvina, his blue eyes seeming to speak volumes: "Are you going to give up the chance to challenge yourself and Voldemort's curse?"

Provocation!

In order to keep Belvina teaching at the school, Dumbledore used every method he could think of.

The cunning old fox was clearly one step ahead, and the young and naive Belvina was persuaded to agree to become the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for the new school year.

but! !! !!

Although Belvina agreed to continue teaching, she was by no means happy to fill the vacancy in Defense Against the Dark Arts!

Belvina is determined to get her revenge on Dumbledore for the defeat she suffered at Fertile Ground this summer; she won't let the old man have his way!
