Hogwarts: Who made her a professor?
Chapter 469 Letting the Wolf In
Chapter 469 Letting the Wolf In
This is a secluded little village, free from the glitz and clamor of commerce, with only one road leading into the village.
As Phil Woolf walked along the main road in the village toward the house where his prey lived, a cruel smile gradually crept onto his lips.
After passing by houses with small doors and windows, crossing a stone bridge, and turning a corner, a delicate and unique two-story stone building appeared before Woolf's eyes.
Phil Woolf walked into the yard and glanced disdainfully at the neatly trimmed lawn.
The dumber the Muggle, the more meticulously they'll trim the lawn. Woolf thought dismissively.
After a while, the male homeowner opened the door and came out. He was a middle-aged man with a thick beard, who looked simple and warm.
"Woolf?" the host asked.
The rugged-looking man took two steps closer and said warmly, "Woolf, it really is you!"
"It's me, buddy, I've come to visit you." Phil Woolf flashed a fake smile. "This place is really nice!"
The warm and simple-minded homeowner, completely unaware of the danger approaching, turned and called into the house, "Darling, come out quickly! Woolf, whom I told you about last time, is here!"
Before long, the lady of the house came out. Like her husband, she was warm, simple, and very hospitable.
"Hello, Mr. Wolf!" said the hostess. "My husband has been talking about you a lot lately. He told me you are the best fisherman he has ever found."
The homeowner met Phil Woolf while fishing. He was impressed by Woolf's fishing skills and considered him a close friend.
The warm and simple-hearted host could never have imagined that the fishing master in his eyes was actually a legendary werewolf.
"Good day, madam," Woolf said in a gentlemanly manner. "You are as elegant and beautiful as your husband says."
"You don't look well, Mr. Woolf. It must be because of the cold!" the hostess said with concern. "Come inside and warm up!"
As they spoke, the couple led Phil Woolf into the warm interior.
Whether it's the neat lawn in the yard or the furnishings and decorations inside the house, you can see that this Muggle couple takes their lives very seriously.
In the exceptionally cozy living room, the hostess served steaming hot tea, while the host turned up the temperature of the electric heater. Both of them noticed Woolf's pale face.
The simple couple thought that Woolf's pale face was because of the cold weather, but they didn't know that it was because the full moon was getting closer, and they didn't know that this was a sign that Phil Woolf was about to transform into a ferocious werewolf.
Unaware of the impending disaster, the Muggle couple warmly welcomed the dangerous werewolf, even though the husband had only known him for a short time and knew nothing about Woolf's background.
Time always flies, and before we knew it, it was evening, and the sky outside the window was getting darker and darker.
The boy, who had been playing wildly in the village, returned home. He had inherited his parents' warmth and simplicity, and greeted the unfamiliar guests with a bright smile.
Looking at the delicate-skinned child in front of him, Phil Woolf swallowed greedily. The husband, however, mistakenly thought that Woolf was hungry and hurriedly urged his wife to prepare dinner.
Phil Woolf finally showed a genuine smile, but unfortunately, it was a smile mocking the couple for being as stupid as pigs. Woolf had no interest in Muggle dinners; he preferred fair-skinned little children.
After some time, the sky outside the window grew darker. The skilled housewife had prepared a sumptuous dinner, and the family of three, along with the malicious Woolf, sat down around the table to enjoy the feast.
At this moment, the rugged-looking male homeowner seemed to suddenly remember something. He slapped his forehead and said to the child beside him, "Go and call your aunt down for dinner."
The little boy obediently responded and ran upstairs under Woolf's greedy gaze.
Soon, a young woman led a little boy down the stairs and slowly walked into the fragrant restaurant.
Phil Woolf looked closely, and a look of confusion immediately appeared on his pale face.
The male head of the household is so rugged in appearance, but his sister is very beautiful, and the two siblings do not look alike at all.
"This is my distant cousin, her name is—" The man opened his mouth, but couldn't say his cousin's name. "Wait a minute, cousin, what's your name again?"
Phil Woolf's confusion deepened, not because the master of the house couldn't recall his cousin's name, but because Woolf felt that the master's cousin looked very familiar!
With his long, jet-black hair, deep, dark eyes, fair skin, and stunning face, Phil Woolf looked increasingly familiar; he felt as if he had seen him in a newspaper.
"My name is Belvina Black. How could you forget my name again?"
With that, Belvina sat down opposite Phil Woolf and continued, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Woolf. I think you should already recognize who I am."
Phil Woolf nervously swallowed, confirming that he had identified Belvina.
Even if she were blind enough not to recognize her, Woolf would not have failed to recognize the name "Belvina Black".
Belvina Black, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic, Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts, and daughter of the noble and oldest Black family.
"Don't be nervous, it's just a confusion spell," Belvina said, picking up her knife and fork.
Following Belvina's actions, the family of three also picked up their knives and forks and began eating their dinner without realizing it, as if Belvina and Woolf did not exist.
"You—how did you get here?" Phil Woolf said nervously, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
"It's because you're here, Mr. Woolf," Belvina said slowly, cutting the steak on her plate. "Don't tell me you're just here as a guest."
"You knew I'd be here all along?" Phil Woolf frantically wiped the sweat from his brow, trying to appear more composed.
However, her trembling pupils had already betrayed Woolf completely.
Phil Woolf is a vicious werewolf. He is so arrogant that he wants to attack an entire village of Muggles, but at the same time he is cowardly because he dares not attack a wizarding village.
This secluded village had only one young wizard named Dahl Collins, who did not stand out while studying at Hogwarts, and some of his classmates could not even remember what Collins looked like.
"Mr. Woolf, the village has a permanent population of one hundred and sixty, of whom there is only one wizard," Belvina said slowly. "If it weren't for you, I would have forgotten that I had a classmate named Dahl Collins when I was in school."
As she spoke, Belvina picked up a slice of meat.
Phil Woolf nervously swallowed again. Since the Director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement was here, the Aurors and the Strikers should be here as well.
Panicked, Phil Woolf was at a loss for what to do next. Should he take the opportunity to kidnap Blake, who was enjoying his meal, or wait for the full moon to appear?
"I have to say, I'm starting to have a newfound respect for your courage."
Belvina looked up and continued, "Mr. Woolf, I may look a bit like a pretty face, but I'm really good at fighting, so—"
Belvina smiled and didn't continue, but her meaning was clear.
However, Phil Woolf didn't listen to a word of Belvina's honest account; he kept looking out the window, frequently checking if the full moon had appeared.
After a while, Belvina, having finished eating, put down her knife and fork and asked, "What are you waiting for, Mr. Woolf?"
At this moment, the warm and hospitable family of three also put down their knives and forks. The rugged male host said something to Belvina, and then left the restaurant with his wife and child.
The duck that was about to be caught flew away, but Phil Woolf dared not make any rash moves. He now only wanted to escape from this Muggle village; he didn't want to be caught by the Ministry of Magic.
"Mr. and Mrs. Wilson are your prey," Belvina said. "They treated you so warmly, yet all you thought about was how to tear them apart and infect their only son with wolf disease."
"That's because they don't know I'm a werewolf!" Phil Woolf yelled, as if offended.
"What you say makes some sense," Belvina said frankly. "Wizards' children are taught from a young age that werewolves are evil and deserve to die, and Muggle children have also heard terrible legends about werewolves."
As she spoke, Belvina's gaze fell on Phil Woolf's hands.
"Would you mind taking off your gloves, Mr. Woolf?" she continued. "I've heard that you file your nails as sharp as claws."
Upon hearing this, Phil Woolf actually took off his gloves and showed Belvina his sharp nails.
"Wait a moment, I'll beat you to a pulp with claws sharper than fingernails, and then turn you into a werewolf too," Woolf said viciously. "I want to see if the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, the daughter of the Black family, can still be as noble as she is now after becoming a werewolf!"
"Being infected with werewolf syndrome and turning into a bloodthirsty werewolf on the night of the full moon is not your fault," Belvina said with a compassionate expression. "But, Mr. Woolf, it is wrong of you to still want to hurt people when the moon is not full."
Belvina glanced at the increasingly dark sky outside the window and continued, "If you confess, the Ministry of Magic will restrict your freedom, but will provide you with wolfsbane potion free of charge to alleviate your suffering during the full moon."
Phil Woolf clenched his fists nervously. The wolfsbane potion was good, but he didn't want to lose his freedom.
Most importantly, now that Woolf has fallen under Voldemort's spell, how could he possibly confess and submit to the law willingly?
In Phil Woolf's view, Voldemort's resurgence would inevitably overthrow the Ministry of Magic's rule, and confessing to the Ministry of Magic now would be utterly foolish!
"If you refuse to confess, I will have no choice but to forcibly take you back to the dock, put you in prison, and then lock you up in Azkaban. Of course, there is no wolfsbane in Azkaban."
Belvina's expression remained compassionate, but there was no compassion in her eyes.
