No one can say for sure what the true nature of the Anti-Life Equation is. Jor-El, however, fantasized about replicating Uxus's mastery of Omega power to reach the pinnacle of the New Gods and achieve the same path as Darkseid.

Joey couldn't even count how many unreliable aspects there were.

So Joey couldn't hold back any longer and prepared to say something to prevent Jor-El from leading the Kryptonians headlong into a vortex of destruction: "The Anti-Life Equation is far more dangerous than you think, and none of us can be sure what the existence of the Protoss really is—"

The reason those new gods were able to become new gods is essentially because they are descendants of the old gods. Could the Kryptonians also be some kind of old god race?
