Chapter 931 The Godslayer Once...
Chapter 931 The Godslayer Once...
Searching for traces of a person in a desolate wasteland is an extremely difficult task, but fortunately, Logan the Wolf's sense of smell is equally unreasonable, allowing him to directly detect the other person's scent.
"This taste seems somewhat familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on why."
Logan tried to search his memory for the source of the smell. He seemed to have smelled it a long time ago, and he seemed to have smelled some similar smells recently, but Logan felt that it was something else entirely, which was very strange.
Fortunately, the smell was still clear to him, and he was able to lead his team to find the source of the smell.
Soon, as they ventured deeper into the jungle, they came across signs of human activity. Animal skeletons appeared by the roadside, clearly marked with sharp weapon marks. Undoubtedly, some creature had used a weapon to cut meat from the skeleton.
"That smell... I remember it. It's the smell of a symbiote. Symbiotes in the wasteland have mutated to the point that even their smell has changed. No wonder I didn't notice it at first."
Logan led everyone into the jungle. As they went deeper, Peter and the others saw a path made by footsteps. Iron Boy analyzed seriously, "Judging from the footprints, this person is about 1.9 meters tall."
"Assuming he is human."
After Peter made a comment, he saw a small house at the end of the road. He frowned and walked over, but sensed something strange.
It was as if something inside him was boiling over; Peter quickly realized that it was Nar trying to do something, though he couldn't do anything. His consciousness was already strictly locked, and now with Anti-Venom controlling him, Nar was practically immobile.
However, Peter realized something: the matter here was closely related to Nal, and Nal, as the god of symbiotes, shouldn't be so concerned about a simple symbiote.
Wait, the symbiote, the destruction of Asgard?
Peter immediately guessed what was going on. He quickly went forward and came to the vicinity of the cabin, where he saw the decorations in the owner's house: the heads of Thor and Loki, like the heads of deer hunters, hung on the wall. And they weren't the young Thor and Loki, but the aged Thor and Loki, just like their father, Thor.
Or rather, he is Thor, the Godfather of another world.
"In other words, this is how they died—this was actually the complete destruction of the world, and Asgard was destroyed as a result."
Thor himself didn't have much of an opinion, he just gave a simple comment, then summoned divine thunder, shattering the two heads into ashes, then pushed open the door and saw more items belonging to the gods, some of the Greek gods, some of the Celtic gods, and some of the Egyptian gods.
"A god-slayer, the god-slayer Gehr. He did it all."
Among this endless collection, something spoke—a head pierced by a sword. Peter leaned closer and saw that it was Anansi. He continued, revealing the information: "Geralt was originally a mortal. When his daughter was critically ill, he prayed to the gods, but they did not answer. So he began to resent them. He found a terrible weapon, the Black Death Sword, a god-slaying sword, and thus became a god-slayer, killing all the gods."
"That sword is a symbiote."
Peter rubbed his temples, finally understanding why Nar was so happy. It turned out there was another Black Death Sword belonging to Yu Shen here. And the Black Death Sword was the first symbiote in history.
The story begins like this: Before the birth of the universe, Knull was discovered by the Celestials, who planned to put him into the new universe. Knull resisted, and the two sides fought. In the end, Knull lost and was imprisoned in the multiverse.
So, driven by revenge, Gnar used the head of a Celestial he had severed as a furnace to forge a weapon from his own essence, the Living Abyss—the Black Death Sword, his first symbiote. Gnar then wielded this divine weapon, the Black Death Sword, and wreaked havoc until he clashed with a group of golden-armored gods. A fierce battle ensued, ultimately resulting in both sides suffering heavy losses.
Gore was a follower of those golden-armored gods. These gods hadn't intentionally ignored his pleas; they were simply preoccupied with their battle against Nar. After the battle, an enraged Gore rushed to the battlefield and encountered the last of the golden-armored gods, who, on the verge of death, pleaded with Gore for help. But the furious Gore raised the Black Death Sword that had fallen to the ground and stabbed his own god to death, thus embarking on the path of a god-slayer.
Gnar, who was unconscious at the scene, escaped unscathed, but when he woke up, he found that his sword was missing.
Incidentally, the power of those golden-armored gods was the power of mystery; they were the gods of light. After they all perished, the power of mystery determined that the dispersed power was not strong enough, so it gathered together and became the "power of the Cosmic Captain".
"So Gnar wants to get the Black Death Sword—this might be another way for him to regain his freedom besides me dying, and I need to be careful."
Peter muttered something under his breath as he explained things to Anansi's head. Then, he looked at this Anansi. Theoretically, the Anansi who was killed here by Gol was not the same one he knew, but for some reason, Peter felt that the two were closely connected.
"The Godslayer, I can roughly guess what kind of people his teammates are. They must be people like him who hate and despise the gods."
Father Saul spoke earnestly, and Peter, upon hearing the answer to the question, reached the same conclusion as Saul, almost exclaiming in surprise: "Mangog?!"
Gol and Mangog are truly two sides of the same coin; one represents a god who ignores the prayers of his followers, while the other represents a god who conquers civilization. Besides them, Gol also found four other such enemies.
"The Secret Wars really do produce a lot of talented people, but we still don't know where the Beyonder Beacon is in Asgard."
Peter shook his head, only to find that the space around him seemed to have frozen, and his teammates had become incredibly sluggish.
Then, Anansi's head revealed a smile: "Long time no see, Spider-Man from Earth 616."
"Let me guess, you also participated in the secret war, and then were captured by Ger and imprisoned here."
"No, that's exactly what I wanted to say!" Anansi's expression suddenly turned serious. "Our Spider Legion has not received any invitation from the Beyonders."
"We have been ignored by those who surpass us."
