Chapter 935 When none of the Godslayer's enemies are gods

"Do you think Mangog can defeat my evil doppelganger?"

Watching Mangog charge off with the Dark Strange, Half-Strange asked curiously, but Peter said he didn't know either. However, there was no doubt that Mangog was the most suitable person to deal with the Dark Strange. First, he was a very simple being; his motivation lay in beating up gods, especially Norse gods. As long as he could do that, Mangog had virtually unlimited energy and would never tire.

Secondly, Mangog is not a living entity, but an abstract form of resentment born from the slaughter of gods. The Black Strange cannot devour it; even if it does, the Mangog will revive. It might not even absorb much energy, since the Mangog's combat power is entirely driven by resentment, and its growth and source of strength have no fundamental laws, making it a truly mystical being. In short, from every perspective, the Mangog is the chosen one to deal with the Black Strange.

"Even if Mangog can't beat Black Strange, I think he can hold out for an hour or two," Peter stated his plan. "And before that, we'll take care of the others. Frank, what do you say?"

"Hmm—that group of six took down Horse-Faced Thor and Sword Fighter, but they withdrew without any casualties."

Peter exclaimed in surprise, "Ah!" It seemed these guys weren't that great after all. Frank, who was still monitoring the battlefield with his sniper rifle, continued, "Oh, right, Magneto also took that axe that can summon lightning."

"That's not surprising. I've seen sorcerers who are very used to using axes, not to mention Magneto isn't even a sorcerer."

Strange stared at Peter, suspecting that the man was implying something about him, but he had no proof.

"What about the other side?"

"The Godslayer destroyed another Doom and the Green Goblin, but fought my brother to a standstill, and couldn't completely destroy him." Thor, the Heavenly Father, wasn't surprised by this outcome. It was the truth; many characters who conquered their entire universes seemed invincible, but when you actually fought them, they weren't all that impressive. That's why the Doom of Universe 616 looked down on the seemingly powerful Dooms of other universes.

On the other hand, it's clear that Loki, Thor's brother, is quite capable, at least he's held out this long.

Peter looked at Father Saul: "And what do you mean?"

"If you intervene in the battle now, he will definitely abandon you, leaving you to fight Ger to the death, and then steal the power of the World Tree."

Peter looked at Saul: "Isn't this what we wanted him to do?"

Heavenly Father Thor smiled, then nodded. He would not interfere in the battle with Gol, for he was also a god.

If one intends to fight against Geer, then one cannot rely on the gods, so as to weaken Geer's fighting spirit to the greatest extent.

He will stay and protect the World Tree.

"Good luck to you."

Old Loki, panting, stared at the figure before him. He had fought countless enemies, and killed many symbiote hosts, but none had ever been as formidable as this one. Illusions, lies, and other spells were all ineffective against him.

The evil master he hoped to create for the multiverse died before he could even begin, leaving him as the sole survivor. And that's precisely why old Loki is even more unwilling to die here. He still has his grand ideals to pursue; he can't just die like this.

But how do we deal with that damn sword-like symbiote?

Just as Loki hesitated, he suddenly laughed and straightened up: "What a pity, foolish mortal. My comrades have arrived, and they will be yours next—"

A massive white torrent of magic enveloped Loki and Gale, interrupting their conversation. Gale, bathed in the magical explosion, strolled leisurely out of its blast radius and saw the people standing before him. He glanced around; there were four people before him, none of whom he recognized, and he couldn't sense any of the strange aura emanating from them.

But for Geer, the more crucial issue was that his prey had escaped.

"You are not gods, I have no time to deal with you."

Ger turned and sheathed his sword: "Get out of here. You're interfering with my task of killing a god, so I won't hold it against you."

"I'm sorry, but you've killed too many people—or rather, too many gods—we have to stop you."

After hearing Peter's words, Ger turned around, and after a moment of silence, he couldn't help but laugh: "You?"

"You? Don't you know what I've done? I liberated my world! By what right do those gods enslave us? Control us? When you prayed for their response, did they ever answer you?!"

"No! They're just a bunch of parasites feeding on us! It makes no difference whether these gods exist or not! So why should we believe in them? They're utterly worthless!"

After a moment of silence, Steel Boy whispered in Peter's ear, "I feel like... what this guy said doesn't seem to make any mistakes?"

"That sounds right, but you have to consider whether all gods are unresponsive, and whether Ger has any selection criteria."

Peter frowned as he looked at Gol. If he remembered correctly, in the comics, Gol's god-slaying was more like an instinct and inclination; simply put, he felt he had to kill any god who existed. If Mangog could be considered a punishment for the arrogance of the gods, born from the universe itself, then Gol was more like an extreme psychopath who became even more insane after merging with the Black Death Sword, the original symbiote.

Of course, considering that the symbiote's characteristic is to enhance the emotions of the first-generation host, it doesn't seem strange that Gell has become like this.

Gel looked at the four people in front of him. Peter and Iron Boy exchanged a few words and then said nothing more. Twilight Wolf had no intention of leaving, and even Strange didn't make a move. "You know, we specifically looked for an opportunity to deal with you. Your teammates are basically all—well, either dead or tied up. Now you're the only one left."

"I'm all alone—"

Ger laughed when he heard this: "Do you know what I've done? I've cleaved a star in two with this sword. What about you? How could you possibly compete with me? That last shot was nothing."

Strange snapped his fingers, then used the immense power of the World Tree to unleash an even larger-scale spell: "Alright, that should hurt a little now, but it's okay, I can keep going."
