Pokémon, who made him the gym leader?

Chapter 74 I'm sorry, I'm a Gym Leader

"Begging me won't help; I won't let you go."

Is this...is this something a righteous character would say?

Athena was stunned! And what did Guxin say next?

"The League is willing to spend money to buy you; they might be able to trade you for a Larvitar or a pseudo-legendary Dragon-type."

So, a high-ranking member of Team Rocket, a Champion-level trainer, is only worth a Larvitar to you?

This is outrageous! Absolutely outrageous!

Xiao Lan was very excited, while Li Jia remained silent. Hmm... I didn't hear anything.

"Mr. Guxin, you've gone too far!"

Athena was furious; this was blatant disrespect to her, Athena!

"Oh?" Guxin raised an eyebrow, and the Magic Masked Cat's eyes narrowed slightly.

"The Pokémon League is indeed extremely stingy! Mr. Gushin, I'm willing to trade two Larvitar for myself! Please forgive me this once."

Athena bowed to Guxin with a solemn expression.

Little Blue: "Pfft~"

Lijia: (—)

"Really?" Gu Xin asked with a half-smile.

"It couldn't be more true, Mr. Gusin! Although our Rockets team has a bad reputation, I, Athena, always keep my word!"

Athena, seeing that there was hope, became excited.

At the same time, Athena angrily kicked the two Team Rocket members behind her twice. Those two idiots have no sense at all!

The two Team Rocket members were taken aback, then saw Athena's cold and ruthless eyes, and they shuddered.

"Ah, right, let's deal with it!"

"Although Lady Athena is usually fierce, she has never lied to us."

The two Rockets members stammered out their grievances.

"Lady Athena has quite the airs of authority; even in this situation, she still has the mind to threaten her subordinates."

Xiao Lan spoke with a grin, showing no regard for Athena's feelings.

"Hehehe..."

Although Athena was embarrassed and angry, she just smiled dryly and didn't say anything back.

You brat! If it weren't for your powerful backer protecting you, I would have ripped your mouth apart!

"Lord Gushin, what do you think? As long as you let me leave, I'll definitely deliver the two baby Gilas to you!"

"Guxin, don't listen to her! How could someone as poor as her possibly produce two baby giras? It's laughable."

Little Blue mocked her mercilessly, saying that Athena herself used Arbok and Vileplume, yet she dared to say that she could produce two Larvitar.

"Miss! Our Team Rocket's three Beastmasters have already established themselves in Johto. Do you think we can't get Larvitar?"

Athena's face was gloomy and unpleasant, and she subconsciously sneered.

"Like a frog in a well, neither the Mini Dragon nor the Young Kira are difficult for our Rockets to acquire!"

"You're trying to steal from innocent trainers, huh? You're really something," Blue said sarcastically.

"If a trainer can't even protect their own Pokémon, who can they blame?"

Athena remained calm and didn't even think there was anything wrong with stealing someone else's Pokémon.

"Ridiculous! That's a complete victim-blaming robbery theory! Whether they are weak or not, it should never be an excuse for your Team Rocket to commit evil!"

Having regained much of her strength, Rika's fair face flushed red with anger upon hearing this, and she glared at Athena.

She is an honest and kind trainer, so she simply cannot accept Athena's philosophy.

"I'm too lazy to talk to you two little girls. Mr. Guxin, please believe in my sincerity. You are a champion-level trainer, and we would never offend you for the sake of two pseudo-legendary hatchlings."

Athena chuckled coldly twice, ignoring the two 'naive' girls in her eyes, and instead looked at Guxin with respect.

Two quasi-god larvae are indeed precious, but if they can be exchanged for a high-ranking officer, then it is absolutely worth it.

"Although I am quite tempted by Lady Athena's proposal, it is a pity."

Gu Xin chuckled and made a gesture to the Magic Masked Cat.

The magical masked cat's body, brimming with explosive power, was eager to try.

Athena was startled by what she heard and instinctively had a bad feeling. She prepared to throw the Poké Ball she had been holding.

"Excuse me, I am a Gym Leader in the League."

As Gu Xin's words, which sounded like a sigh yet also a laugh, fell to the ground.

Whoosh!

The ghostly black and green figure appeared behind Athena in the blink of an eye.

"Meow~!"

A malicious whisper rang in Athena's ears, and Athena felt the hairs on her body stand on end!

"Wait! Gu Xinxian..."

Athena wanted to say something more, but a sudden pain shot through the back of her neck, her vision went black, and she collapsed to the ground.

pat~

The Poké Ball, which had remained unopened until the very end, slipped from Athena's hand and fell to the ground.

The two Team Rocket members wisely surrendered; they didn't want to be scratched by that terrifying Meowha.

"As expected, if it's not a formal battle, attacking the trainer directly is the most efficient way."

Guxin picked up the Poké Ball and nodded in satisfaction.

"Meow~" The magical masked cat reappeared beside Guxin.

"Great job, Meowha. It wouldn't have been this easy without you." Guxin smiled gently, praising Meowha. He knew this proud yet clingy cat all too well.

"Meow~!"

Magic Masked Cat's eerie yet beautiful cat eyes were now narrowed into slits, so happy~

"Master Rika, are you alright? You should rest for a bit."

Guxin looked at Lijia, who was struggling to stand up.

Although the poison has been neutralized by the panacea, it will still be difficult to fully recover in a short period of time.

"I am fine now. I just informed Miss Officer Jenny, and they are on their way. Phew~ Thank you so much, Master Guxin."

Lijia was extremely grateful to Guxin, because if Guxin hadn't appeared at that right moment, she would never have been able to get rid of Athena while she was poisoned.

"That's good." Gu Xin looked at the unconscious Athena and said that he would have Officer Jenny take her away later. He would ask Adu for a reward when he arrived.

"Master Rika, you were a bit too impulsive this time."

Then Guxin spoke to Lijia.

"Regardless, we should notify Ms. Officer Jenny or the higher-ups in the league first."

"Yes, I'm very sorry. I was too arrogant and didn't think things through." Lijia's pretty face flushed slightly as she sincerely apologized.

"This infiltration has alerted the enemy, and the Rockets will probably have to leave quickly."

Xiao Lan pondered that since Li Jia's infiltration had been discovered, Apollo and his men were probably already preparing to evacuate.

"It's all my fault..." Lijia felt extremely guilty.

"Don't worry, Officer Jenny has sealed off the area, and I've notified Lance, who should be arriving soon. None of these Team Rocket members will escape."

Gu Xin smiled faintly and said gently.

"As expected of Master Gu Xin!"

Hearing this, Rika breathed a sigh of relief. She would have felt terrible if these Team Rocket members had run away because of her.

But I really can't understand it. Are the security measures at Team Rocket's base really that good? I've only been infiltrated a short while and I've already been discovered...

The three waited for a while, and soon Officer Jenny from Celadon City arrived, taking the unconscious Athena and the two Team Rocket members with grim faces away.

Then Guxin and his two companions went to Rika's house first, but...

Great, this makes it even more fun!
