Wandering America: My kill threshold is far ahead

Chapter 19 Are you sure this is cooking, and not a biochemical experiment?

It cost over $180 to acquire this set of basic supplies.

It's impossible not to feel bad about it, but it will definitely be a qualitative leap in improving the quality of life going forward.

Under Jessica's utterly dejected gaze, Ma Jie settled the payment and smiled, saying thank you.

Before nightfall completely enveloped the city, I took the free subway back to my campsite on Queen's Road.

After tidying up his things in the tent, he took a mysterious gift and knocked on the door of Max, the richest man in the camp.

Although he didn't know where this girl got her RV, in the realm of homeless people, she was definitely a game-changer.

In the United States, many low-income families live in RVs, and some even use RVs as their wedding homes.

In large cities like Los Angeles, there are clubs specifically designed for RV owners. For a small rental fee, they can solve problems such as parking, water supply, charging, sewage disposal, cleaning, and free WiFi.

With a whoosh, the car door was pushed open from the inside, revealing the freckled face of a little white girl.

"Mommy, someone's looking for you." The little girl glanced coldly at Ma Jieke, then strained her neck and shouted inside.

She didn't have a good impression of this Asian guy, because he showed up at the wrong time, forcing her to eat only dry bread with peanut butter for dinner.

Max peeked out from the cramped kitchen, holding a common stainless steel spatula and wearing a floral apron around her waist. The range hood was running, and the aroma of frying food filled the air.

Her virtuous wife and loving mother look, combined with the dense tattoos on her arms, gave Ma Jieke the feeling that she had wandered onto the wrong movie set.

This kind of plot often appears in some low-budget Hollywood movies, except that the relationship with the male protagonist is usually that of a stepmother and stepson.

"Jack, I heard you made a fortune today." Max smiled greedily, after all, she could help with a lot of business, and there was plenty of money to be made from it.

"No, it's just hard-earned money from working."

It must have been Jimmy, that big mouth, who leaked the secret. But what can you do when you're in America? In Yankee culture, there's no such thing as keeping your wealth hidden.

The local custom is that if you achieve even the slightest, insignificant success, you'd want the neighbor's dog to know.

"You're here to pick up your SIM card, right? Come in and have a seat, I'll get it done right away."

"Little Pudding, has your mother ever told you that you need to learn how to greet guests?"

"Please, sir." The little girl made a gesture of invitation with a stiff face.

Ma Jie reluctantly took off his shoes and placed the thin-crust cheese beef and onion pizza he had bought at Domino's on the way on the table.

When the little girl saw the packaging box, her eyes widened instantly, and she subconsciously sucked her fingers.

"Hi, Little Pudding." Seeing her drooling, Ma Jie teased her, "Want some?"

She nodded slightly, sucking on her finger, but was too shy to speak.

"If you call me Daddy, I'll give it to you to eat."

"Jack!" Max leaned back tactically. "If you dare tease my daughter again, I'll tie you to a chair and kick you hard with my high heels."

"Haha, just kidding." Ma Jie felt a chill in his lower body and opened the pizza box: "Eat it while it's hot, little pudding. This is for you. Thank you and your mommy for taking me in."

"Wow, am I dreaming? I've almost forgotten when I last ate pizza."

He eagerly picked up a piece, tilted his head back to catch the stretchy cheese, and smiled mischievously: "By the way, Jack, my name is Fanny, not Little Pudding."

"Fanny, that's a lovely name," Ma Jie said, looking at her. "But I think Little Pudding is cuter."

"Fine, whatever, I don't care." Little Pudding remained silent, just eating quietly.

"Oh shit, my sausage and fried egg!"

The two were chatting casually when Max's scream and the clanging of spatulas coming from the kitchen came through.

"Max, do you need any help?" Ma Jie asked.

"NONONO, don't come any closer, I can handle this by myself."

Her tone sounded panicked, but the smell of burnt food wafting over couldn't lie.

"Ha, what did I tell you? Mom's doing the impossible again." Fanny said sarcastically while eating pizza, "Every time we have a picnic at the camp, she can't help but show off her cooking skills, without considering the feelings of our garbage can. If there were a show called 'The Great Food Waste Battle,' I would definitely put her on the list."

"Shut up, little pudding, don't force me to gag you with a sock."

Max was nearly driven mad by his daughter's incessant nagging.

Ma Jieke came over curiously and took a look. Good heavens, the frying pan on the gas stove looked like it had just been the site of a nuclear explosion.

If you don't tell me, no one will be able to tell that they are eggs and sausages.

Are you sure this is cooking, and not a biochemical experiment?

"Fuck, I swear I really studied hard, which step went wrong?"

She squatted on the ground in frustration, pulling her hair hard with both hands, as if she had experienced a major life change.

"How about I give it a try?" Ma Jie tentatively suggested. He had just heard from Fanny that there was supposed to be some kind of camp feast today, and it seemed that each household would have to contribute something, such as ready-made dishes and beer or drinks.

"You can cook?" Max looked at him incredulously, her eyes filled with doubt.

"Whether it works or not, we'll find out by trying." Glancing at the trash can that was almost bursting at the seams, Ma Jie shook his head repeatedly. His skill tree had been completely misplaced.

With a "nothing to lose" mentality, Max reluctantly took off her apron and clumsily tied it back on for him from behind.

Feeling the friction from his back, Ma Jie secretly gasped. He's had a child and he's still so firm. Could it be some kind of black technology?

If I remember correctly, the Ugly Kingdom's expertise in this area is unparalleled; they could turn even Princess Taiping into Empress Fubo.

Opening the car refrigerator, there were very few ingredients left: a few eggs that had held up until the final round, two shivering tomatoes, and a small bag of sausages waiting to be executed.

After deciding on the menu, Ma Jie took out all the eggs, cracked them, and poured them all into a plate. Then, under Max's disbelieving gaze, he mashed them into a paste with a knife.

"What are you doing?" She looked at the disgusting lump of paste on the plate and felt like killing Ma Jie.

"Tomato and egg stir-fry," Ma Jieke casually said in Chinese.

"What, what the hell?"

Ma Jie shook his head with a wry smile, crushed the sea salt with his fingers, and poured it in to season the base flavor.

Sigh, white girls are just so lame.
