Wandering America: My kill threshold is far ahead

Chapter 31 Marking Territorial Rights

"Where are you, Jimmy? Why aren't you here yet?"

"We're almost there, everyone be careful, there are at least ten of them!"

Max charged ahead, carrying a baseball bat, followed by five or six camp members, all of whom had been temporarily recruited from the vicinity via social media groups.

As the leader of the blue-haired squad, he was already used to street fights. Regardless of whether he could win or not, he absolutely could not lose in terms of momentum.

But when she arrived, fueled by a burning desire to fight, the location where the team battle had taken place was completely deserted.

However, the scene was a mess, with signs of a fight everywhere, and even visible bloodstains.

"We're doomed, we're too late." Seeing this, Jimmy clutched his head in anguish. "Jack must have been taken away by the Blood Gang. I knew it would be like this. I should have stayed to fight alongside him, at least then we could have looked out for each other. Waaah... It's my fault."

"Stop crying! Shut up! The more effeminate you act, the more those guys will dare to bully you, understand?"

He roared, interrupting his complaints, and immediately declared, "We're going to the Green Bottle Bar to get Hansen King's people. Jimmy, I'm giving you a task: get me two cans of gasoline. If those bastards aren't going to release them, I'll set their hideout on fire and burn those sons of bitches to death!"

"This..." Jimmy was a little frightened by Max's crazy idea: "But you're still on parole. Arson is a serious crime. The police will be searching all over the world for you."

"Do you think I can still care about those things?" Max's eyes were blazing with anger. "What kind of life did I live before? What kind of life do I live now? I'm a homeless person, and I'm being chased like a stray dog. If the Blood Gang doesn't want us to have a good life, then let's all just give up."

"No, no, no, you can't do that. We'll negotiate with them. If that doesn't work, we'll pay to ransom them. I caused this, so I'll pay for it."

In contrast, Jimmy was much calmer. After all, it was just a matter of fighting to the death over the right to recycle a street's worth of junk.

"Kid, I know you have some savings." Max's face was filled with endless hatred. "But you compromised today, what about tomorrow? You think you're so smart? You're just a coward. If you don't dare to go, go home. I'll risk my life to bring Jack back, because he's a member of the Blue Hair Squad. The Blue Hair Squad never abandons its teammates."

"But..."

"Shut up, don't try to persuade me to change my mind!"

Just as the two were arguing fiercely, Ma Jie suddenly walked over from the other end of the alley.

"What's all the noise about?" The expression was quite nonchalant: "Your voices can be heard all over the street."

"Jack?" Jimmy subconsciously rubbed his eyes and realized it wasn't a hallucination.

Then she ran up to him, circled him several times, and finally started taking off her clothes.

"Damn it, are you crazy?" Ma Jie felt disgusted and shoved him away. "If I wanted to mess with you, would I have waited until now?"

"I just wanted to check on your injuries!"

Jimmy felt a little annoyed; why did everyone like to bring that up?

"Injured?" Ma Jie laughed dismissively. "Don't make me laugh, buddy. If I can't even kick a few stray dogs to death, what am I doing here?"

"Huh?" Seeing that he was completely unharmed, Jimmy was completely dumbfounded.

"Jack, you mean you single-handedly fought off ten people?"

Max stared wide-eyed. She'd seen plenty of tough guys, but to say she could take on ten? Was this some kind of movie?

"Let me correct you." Ma Jieke held up a finger and waved it in front of him: "It's not about driving them away, it's about crippling them. They can only leave if I give them permission."

"What?" This time the expression became even more exaggerated, with the eyebrows furrowed together, and the others had similar expressions.

Brother, how can we believe you like this?

Seeing their skepticism, MaJack shrugged helplessly. "Okay, I'll lay it all out. The truth is, just when I was surrounded, my good neighbor Peter Parker happened to be passing by and generously helped me. If that's not convincing enough, how about Batman? Oh, wait, I don't seem to work during the day. Iron Man, actually I am Iron Man. See the button on my shirt? It's actually a hidden switch. If I press it, I can equip myself with nanotech armor..."

"Enough, Jack," Max quickly interrupted his incessant rambling. "I'll take your word for it for now; after all, the fact that you're standing here unharmed is the best proof of that."

"Well, can I give you a small suggestion?"

"Speak."

"If you continue with this kind of support speed next time, I suggest you replace the baseball bat with a body bag; that would be more practical."

"Get lost!" he chuckled, cursing at Ma Jieke. His eyes then fell on the graffiti on the wall, confirming, "Was this left by the Blood Gang?"

“That’s right.” Jimmy nodded. “But I swear to God, I was the one who discovered this street first.”

"Then what are you standing there for? Go do what you're supposed to do."

As he spoke, he tossed him the spray paint he was carrying. The kid immediately climbed onto the trash can and first drew a big blue X on the skull.

Then, on top of the previous statement "We do not welcome the Blue Hair Squad," they used bold English letters to type "Get out of my territory."

The group cheered in celebration of their victory and suggested going to a nearby bar for a drink, since they hadn't enjoyed the thrill of marking their territory in a long time.

Jimmy couldn't bear to leave his jar and insisted on selling it at the junkyard first, so MaJack had to let Max and the others go ahead, saying he would be there shortly.

After walking for more than ten minutes carrying the woven bag, he finally found the recycling center he had previously searched for on Google.

How to put it? This place is almost on the very edge of a poor neighborhood. There are hardly any pedestrians on the nearby roads, with only the occasional dilapidated car slowly driving by. It's nothing like the large recycling station in the city center.

It is also much smaller in scale, and it seems to have been converted from an abandoned street basketball court.

When the two arrived carrying large bags and small packages, the owner of the recycling station was locking the gate, clearly preparing to leave work early.

"Hey, wait a minute." Jimmy quickly ran over when he saw this.

The owner, an elderly Black man with a full beard, glanced at him absentmindedly and said, "We're closed. Come back tomorrow."

"Don't close tomorrow! We walked for more than ten minutes to get here, and it's only 5 p.m. now. How can they close so early?"

"Sigh, alright." The old man sighed helplessly, pointing to the sign stuck in the lawn by the door: "I'll let it slide this time since you're new faces. You should come earlier next time; the opening hours of this recycling station have changed a long time ago."

Ma Jieke glanced at the wooden sign, which read in crooked handwriting: Baoli Waste Recycling Station, Business Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Below that is a line in bold: Low-price transfer, sincerely inviting cooperation.
