Chapter 31 Father and Son Separated
Chapter 31 Father and Son Separated
At this very moment, in a quiet corner of Holy Soul Village, inside Tang San's simple thatched hut, Tang Hao was busy tidying up.
His movements were swift and efficient, and in no time, the room was much tidier. After finishing, he walked to the window with a fierce expression, staring intently out the window as if searching for something.
The village had a harmonious and peaceful atmosphere. The villagers were busy with their own things; some were working in the fields, while others were weaving baskets or mending clothes in front of their homes. They would occasionally stop to greet each other, chatting about everyday matters or the latest happenings in the village.
However, beneath this calm surface, Tang Hao's heart was in turmoil. His gaze frequently swept across the village outside the window, as if searching for something or worrying about something. His figure appeared somewhat lonely in the thatched hut, forming a stark contrast with the tranquil atmosphere of the village.
These days, Tang Hao has been unusually diligent in the village, voluntarily taking on the role of patrolman. But the villagers don't know that this patrol isn't out of a sense of responsibility towards the village, but rather to be the first to know if Ren has returned. His vigilance and hostility towards Ren have never diminished.
However, as time passed, nearly two months went by, and Tang Hao still hadn't discovered any sign of Ren's return. How could he possibly imagine that Ren had actually been in the nearby forest all along, keeping company with his deceased wife, whom he could only call his past self?
He stubbornly believed that Blade had probably been taken away by the group that suddenly appeared at the edge of the forest, which was why it hadn't been seen since. As for the possibility that Blade might be injured, Tang Hao didn't believe it at all. He clearly remembered that in the final battle, Blade's aura was at its peak after unleashing its ultimate attack! How could Blade be injured like that? It couldn't possibly be injured!
A complex emotion flashed in Tang Hao's eyes, a mixture of anger at the blade and regret for the unfinished battle. He clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug deep into his flesh, yet he felt no pain.
Now, Tang Hao has decided not to wait any longer, because Tang San is about to set off for Notting City to study. His original plan was to leave after Tang San left, but the appearance of Blade forced him to bring his plans forward. He has too many concerns and unfinished business in his heart. The shadow of the Spirit Hall and the threat of Blade are like two mountains weighing on his mind.
Right now, he only needed a short time to finish explaining some important matters to Tang San before he had to leave in a hurry. He did have a lot to do, and each one was enough to give him a headache and make him irritable.
"Come here, Xiao San." Tang Hao's voice was deep and powerful. He withdrew his fierce gaze and turned to look at Tang San, who was practicing the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique in the courtyard.
"What's wrong, Dad?" Tang San heard the call, quickly put down the hammer in his hand, wiped the sweat from his forehead with his sleeve, and ran to his father Tang Hao.
Tang Hao crouched down, bringing his gaze level with Tang San's. His eyes became serious and earnest as he stared intently at Tang San, seemingly wanting to convey this seriousness and earnestness to his beloved son. He spoke slowly, his tone carrying an undeniable firmness: "Little San, I have important business to attend to and must go out again. I don't know when I'll be back."
Tang San's face was filled with confusion. He clearly couldn't understand why his father, whom he had already tacitly accepted as a useless person but with a powerful background, was leaving home again. In his mind, if his father couldn't accomplish something on his own, shouldn't he wait until he grew up to take revenge? His heart was filled with doubt and incomprehension.
"Ah, Dad, what is it you want to tell me? I want to help you out!" Tang San's tone was full of sincerity, his eyes were firm, as if he genuinely wanted to share some of his father's burden, but in his heart he also hoped to know more about his father so that he could have a better understanding of things!
Looking at Tang San's serious expression, Tang Hao felt a surge of pride. He was filled with hope for his genius son! But he still shook his head, his tone firm and serious: "You're still young. There are some things I don't want you to know, and that's how I protect you. Don't worry about me; I can take care of myself."
Tang Hao's words made Tang San frown slightly. He was clearly not satisfied with the answer, but he knew his father's personality; once he made a decision, he would not change it easily.
Immediately afterward, Tang Hao's eyes suddenly turned fierce, and his teeth clenched so hard that they seemed to be suppressing the anger and determination deep within him: "There are some things that I must resolve on my own!" His voice was deep and powerful, revealing an undeniable determination.
Tang San saw that his father was unwilling to reveal any more information, and although he was somewhat disappointed, he could only accept it helplessly.
He slowly replied, "Oh, then Dad, I'd like to know at least when you're leaving."
Tang Hao extended his rough, broad hand and patted Tang San's shoulder heavily, his eyes revealing an undeniable determination: "Let's leave immediately. Oh, and there's something important I need to remind you of again."
His voice turned serious, his gaze fixed intently on Tang San's face: "Don't easily reveal the hammer in your left hand, understand?"
Tang Hao thought of the mysterious Blade again. He had originally wanted to remind Tang San to stay away from that person, but then he thought that Blade hadn't returned to Holy Soul Village for so long, so he probably wouldn't come back. If he really had power, he wouldn't bother going to a small city like Notting City. With this in mind, Tang Hao felt relieved. Tang San should be safe. As long as he didn't expose his secret too early, there was no need to worry too much.
Thinking this, Tang Hao said no more. Seeing Tang San nod vigorously, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly. He stood up and patted Tang San's shoulder heavily, the force seemingly saying in a silent voice, "Don't disappoint me." Then, he turned and left.
Tang San's eyes twitched slightly. He took a few steps forward, watching his father's retreating figure until it disappeared from sight. He stood there, muttering, "It's normal to have some hardships. Tang San, oh Tang San, you still have to rely on yourself."
Immediately, Tang San clutched the broken Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum in his hand, the one Ren had thrown to him during the battle. For the past few days, he had been studying this legendary celestial plant, hoping to find clues to enhance his strength. However, his discovery filled him with disappointment—the Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum had long since lost its efficacy, like a withered flower, unable to bloom with its former glory.
Tang San's brows furrowed, his anger towards Ren burning like a raging fire in his chest. He had searched the village for so long following Ren's instructions, yet hadn't found even a trace of a similar immortal item, which fueled his rage. He secretly plotted that if he encountered Ren again, he would find a way to extract something even better from him!
"But then again, where did Blade go?" Tang San was filled with doubt. He remained skeptical of what his father had told Jack—that Blade had gone out to train on his own and was recruited by an academy that recognized his talent.
As the protagonist of the story, he hasn't even enjoyed such treatment yet, so how could his blade be so easily stolen away beforehand?!
Tang San thought to himself.
