Ash, with his invincible physical body, wants to become a Pokémon Master.

Chapter 496 Go forth, earth patting, ocean patting!

After the rocket successfully launched, Nan and Feng watched their father ascend to heaven with great excitement. Then, they happily led Ash and his friends back to the Mossdeep Gym to officially begin their challenge.

[Ding! Congratulations, host, you have triggered a new main quest, "Challenge the Mossdeep Gym!": Defeat Mossdeep Gym Leaders Maple and Minami to obtain the Mind Badge!]

"Ash, this Mossdeep Gym isn't just about the ground; even those floating planets in the air are battlegrounds!"

"Understood, Nan."

After taking his place on the battlefield, Ash looked at the starry sky simulating the universe on the gym's ceiling and marveled at it.

"This dojo looks like a large planetarium from the outside, and the inside is also so dazzling with stars."

But this is really great, it feels like the universe.

Those planet models floated in mid-air without any support, likely using the same zero-gravity technology as the space center's battlefield.

At this moment, the twins' mother, who was also the blue-haired mature woman that Ash and his friends had met, came to read out the competition rules.

Nan Yufeng's mother not only works as a launch tower commander at the space center, but also as a referee at the dojo. She is a very capable woman.

In return, Ash, please send out two Pokémon to fight.

"At the same time, neither side can change the Pokémon they use during the match. There is no time limit. As long as one side's two Pokémon are defeated, the other side wins the match."

"Did everyone hear me?"

Xiao Zhi and Nan Feng, siblings, nodded in response at the same time.

"Is Ash going to fight two opponents by himself in this challenge?" Max excitedly leaned on the railing of the spectator stand to cheer for Ash below.

"I feel that dealing with the unspoken understanding between twins will be a big problem, not to mention the unique terrain of the sky—"

"I wonder what kind of Pokémon Ash will send out to fight. Will it be the perfect combination of Sceptile and Swellow, or the fighting combination of Blaziken and Farfetch'd?"

"I think Salamence and Iron Claw Crawler are also possibilities, and who knows, maybe even aggromonium!"

Xiaosheng has now awakened his Thousand-Mile Bloodline and has a particular fondness for Pokémon like Slaking and Apexis.

However, May, who knows muscular men better, noticed something in Ash's malicious grin.

"Yeah, I feel like Ash will never choose any of the Pokémon you mentioned."

"What? Is he planning to send out Torkoal and Pikachu?"

At this moment, Nan and Feng had already released their Pokémon, which were the Solrock and Luna Stone they had seen in the battle at the Space Center.

"Ash, hurry up and release your Pokémon partners! No matter how rare they are, we'll take them without hesitation!"

Nan and Feng, siblings, gave each other a high five.

"But let me make this clear beforehand, our Pokémon are very strong."

"We will definitely be the victors in this battle!"

The unspoken understanding between twins allows them to coordinate perfectly during battles, without ever arguing.

Their doubles match strength is terrifying, even without any arguments.

Ash responded to them with a simple smile.

"I am well aware of your strength."

The fact that Green Field Gym is ranked seventh in the League's recommended challenge list means it has something special about it.

"So when I found out that this competition was a doubles battle, I immediately decided which Pokémon I would send out!"

Speaking of doubles battles, how can we not play that? Even though the opponent isn't Shiyu-senpai, it's fine with Konan-senpai on the team.

Ash was about to show them his utmost respect, and the muscular man quickly pulled two Poké Balls from his pocket.

He released the two Pokémon he had long wanted to try out battling.

"These are two Pokémon I just caught. They might be a little weak since they haven't been trained together yet. Please go easy on them."

"You're the ones I've chosen! Go, Earth and Ocean!"

Nan and Feng immediately became alert, while curiously craning their necks.

Meanwhile, May and Max, who were watching from the viewing platform, felt their hearts skip a beat when they heard Ash shout "Ground Slap" and "Ocean Slap".

"I've only heard of positively charged pats and negatively charged pats. Earth pats and ocean pats are—"

"Xiao Sheng, I have a bad feeling."

Sure enough, at that moment, lightning flashed, thunder roared, and a strong wind blew through the spacious venue. Xiaoyao and Xiaosheng quickly grabbed the railing and held onto their hair.

The ceiling above the starry sky was first covered with dark clouds, as if a light rain was about to fall, but the rain clouds quickly dissipated.

Suddenly, the sun shone brightly above the high stadium, illuminating the entire venue in an instant, as if we had been transported to a sunny open space.

And appearing amidst a cloud of smoke are Groudon and Kyogre.

At this moment, they all restrained their aura, and their size changed to the usual 3.5 meters and 4.5 meters.

The two looked left and right before realizing that Ash had called them out for a battle.

"Roar, roar!" (Fighting, so exhilarating!)

"Waaah~" (Hurry up and finish, I want to sleep~)

"Ah, these two Pokémon are!"

"Really?"

As a native of Hoenn, Nanhefeng naturally recognized Groudon and Kyogre at first glance.

Their referee mother was also incredibly shocked when she saw the legendary creature actually appear in front of her.

However, as the mother of the Mossdeep Gym Leader, one of the eight gyms in the Hoenn League, she quickly calmed down.

No matter how unbelievable it may seem, Groudon and Kyogre are Pokémon that came out of Ash's Poké Balls and are legally recognized as contenders in the Hoenn League.

If the program did not display any errors when logging in with the pre-match information, then the match should continue.

She calmly waved the small flag in her hand, announcing the official start of the competition.

"South----"

Faced with this situation, Feng was clearly hesitant. Was there any point in continuing the fight?

However, Nan grabbed Feng's hand and said firmly to her younger brother.

"Maple, how can you give up so easily? We're Gym Leaders of the Green Moss Gym!"

"Isn't this the most interesting situation yet? This is a chance to battle a legendary Pokémon, let's all give it our all!"

"Um.

""

Encouraged by his sister, Feng immediately mustered his fighting spirit and faced the two imposing legendary incarnations in front of him.

They earned their positions as Green Ridge Pavilion owners through sheer merit, so they can't be looked down upon.

"Sun Rock, Mind Hammer!"

"Moonstone, Freeze Ray!"

The two shouted out their commands simultaneously with great enthusiasm, it seems they are about to have a great battle with Ash!

Then, the Moonstone's freezing ray accidentally hit the Sunrock, which was charging towards Groudon with its eyes closed, determined to die.

"Hey, Maple! What's wrong with your Sunrock? Why did it suddenly appear in the Moonstone's attack path?"

"What the hell? It was clearly your moonstone that suddenly and inexplicably attacked my sunrock!"

"Don't you know Ice-type is super effective against Ground-type? I had Luna Stone use Ice Beam, that's obviously to attack Groudon!"

"If you don't explain, who will understand?"

"Wouldn't saying it out loud expose our attack intentions?"

These two siblings were just holding hands, showing their deep sibling bond and unity, but in just a few seconds they started fighting.

This only applies to siblings who are close in age.

Xiaoyao and Xiaosheng in the audience were also dumbfounded when they saw this scene.

"Could it be that... their relationship is actually really bad?"

"It seems so."

Although they often bicker, because Haruka is several years older than Kakeru and has more authority as an older sister, they usually have a more harmonious and respectful relationship.

As twin siblings, Nan and Feng are truly determined to outdo each other.

This caused their mother, who was standing nearby, to clutch her head in exasperation, feeling a terrible headache.

"Seriously, these two are still arguing in this situation—"

Seeing their opponent suddenly stop attacking, Kyogre and Groudon were also confused and turned around to look at Ash.

Ash simply shrugged and shook his head in exasperation.

"There's no way around it, this is a battle! Since our opponent is giving us an opportunity to attack for free, how can we let it pass us by!"

"Kyogre, use Root Pulse to attack Solar Rock! Groudon, use Multi-Pound Slam to attack Luna Rock!"

Why doesn't Groudon use its signature move, Precipice Blade?

That's because both Moonstone and Sunrock have the property of floating. Their light, airy bodies, like balloons, float freely with the airflow, making them impossible for Ground-type moves to hit.

This is the downside of not being able to fly.

Unaware that he had been tricked by Xiaozhi, Guqiang immediately curled his body into a ball and leaped high to the top of the ceiling.

At the same time, Kyogre immediately fired several blue-white beams of light from his body towards the Sun Rock.

At this moment, Nan also finally noticed that the situation on the battlefield was not good and immediately stopped arguing.

"Moonstone, use Protect to block Sunrock!"

"Solar Rock Telekinesis! Move all the planets in the sky to the surrounding area to withstand the attack!"

The siblings are always like this: they argue with each other when there's no pressure, but as soon as their opponent starts to attack, they instantly become perfectly coordinated.

Many opponents have been like this in the past, and when they underestimated Nan and Feng because of their unreliable performance, they were defeated by their counterattack.

Unfortunately, this time they were facing Ash and his unreasonable team of legendary Pokémon.

Although its power was weakened by the clear weather, the Root Wave still pulled the Solar Rock to the surrounding megalithic planet models and shattered them all.

The blue and white light slammed heavily against the Moonstone's Protect Barrier, repeatedly pushing back the two Pokémon.

At that moment, Groudon, who had previously curled into a ball and bounced into the air before crashing down, suddenly appeared above Moonstone and Sunrock.

With a loud bang, Groudon's massive and heavy body slammed both Pokémon down at the same time.

"Moonstone!"

"Sun Rock!"

At this moment, both the moonstone and the sunrock were smashed into the ground of the battlefield, and the protective barrier finally shattered with a crisp cracking sound.

"Groudon, now's your chance! Use Earthquake!"

The flightless giant foot landed perfectly on the bodies of the Sun Rock and Moon Stone. At that moment, it stomped hard, triggering an earthquake that would completely devour them.

"Roar, roar!"

When Groudon finished its satisfying battle trampling and moved its big foot away, both Pokémon were already on the verge of death.

"Sun Rock and Moon Stone, unable to battle! Ash wins this match." Maple and Nan's mother waved the flag down without any mercy.

[Ding! Congratulations, host, on completing the main quest "Challenge the Mossdeep Gym!": Defeat Mossdeep Gym Leaders Maple and Minami to obtain the Mind Badge!]

"So strong, no wonder it's a legendary Pokémon."

"They lost too decisively."

After the match, Nan and Feng, the siblings, seemed a little dejected as they approached Xiao Zhi to congratulate him on his victory.

"That's not quite right. Your Pokémon are all very well trained, and the teamwork they displayed at that moment was quite surprising. Unlike my Pokémon, which didn't coordinate at all."

Groudon and Kyogre have very poor compatibility, and Ash only sent them out together this time just for fun.

Getting them to cooperate is a feat in itself; it would be good enough if they didn't fight.

However, they are still the two Hoenn gods after all, and they are very strong even without using the power of the earth and the sea.

Unlike many of Ash's other legendary Pokémon, Feebas was already at its Ultimate level when Ash caught Feebas.

So even if there was no prior training, it was easy to overpower them with sheer numbers.

Then, after Nan and Feng handed the Spirit Badge of the Green Moss Gym to Ash, they immediately started bickering again.

"In the end, it's all because of you, Feng, that we were held back. Otherwise, we could have at least fought a few more rounds!"

"What? It's clearly Nan who's dragging us down."

"How dare someone who's never beaten me even once say that?"

"What do you mean? I'll win sooner or later!"

With no other option, seeing that their argument was far from over, Ash and his friends could only say goodbye and retreat.

[Ding! Congratulations on obtaining the "Mind Badge": When wearing this badge, the power of Pokémon Psychic-type moves is increased by 5%]

"Whew, now I've collected all 7 badges!"

"Speaking of which, Ash, is it really a good idea for you to bring Groudon and Kyogre out for this battle? Doesn't it seem a bit unfair?"

"A small victory? What's wrong with that? Groudon and Kyogre are important partners I recruited through my own strength!"

"I sent out my Pokémon to fight, which perfectly complies with the League rules. How is that an unfair victory?"

Ash firmly disagrees with the bespectacled brat's assertion that he is bullying others.

Are you kidding me? We law-abiding musclemen are the people who respect the league's laws the most.

Even the League Central Committee didn't say anything, so Ash's actions are perfectly reasonable!

Then May suddenly shoved the Navigator in front of Ash.

"Unfortunately, Ash, the Hoenn League has a new rule that Legendary Pokémon are now prohibited from being used in Gym Battles!"

"What?"

Ash took the navigator in disbelief, read it word by word, and then read the contents and the signature of the League Champion at the end. He realized that May had not lied to him.

Freshly released, probably immediately after Ash challenged the Mossdeep Gym today and the recording was sent back to the League.

"Damn it, how could this happen? This is blatant targeting! I protest!"

In the Hoenn League, besides Ash, who else would use a legendary Pokémon in a gym challenge? This is clearly a special rule set up specifically for him.

Mikoli is absolutely awful!

Xiao Zhi is going to flirt with his niece tonight and keep her awake! (Zhi, you're still such a naughty child.)
