My Pokémon Story of Seasons

Chapter 14 Introduction to Wood Carving

The three of them walked out of the woodworking shop one after the other. The sun was shining brightly, and a gentle breeze brought a touch of coolness.

The foam squirrel excitedly bounced on Tong Hua's shoulder, while the grass turtle lazily yawned.

On the way, Xiangshi explained to Tonghua as they walked: "The first lesson in becoming a woodcarver is to learn how to maintain your handsaw."

Acorn took a gleaming handsaw from the tool cart; its teeth flashed coldly in the sunlight. He suddenly handed the handsaw to Tong Hua: "Here, this one's for you. Try it out first."

As Tong Hua took the saw and his hand touched the handle, a strange feeling suddenly rose in his heart.

It's as if I've been used to using these tools for a long time, which may also be an effect of the cheat code.

"not bad."

Tong Hua looked at the handsaw from left to right, when suddenly a prompt appeared in front of her.

Maple handsaw: Already equipped

[Unlock Achievement: Beginner Woodcarver]

A panel that only Tong Hua could see suddenly appeared, unnoticed by everyone else, while Xiang Shi continued speaking.

"When holding the saw, your index finger should run along the back of the saw..."

Tong Hua was no longer listening to what Xiang Shi was saying; his attention was entirely focused on the information panel in front of him.

This was his cheat code, which was supposed to display information about the various materials he had personally collected and the various processed products he had personally made. But now it had turned into something else entirely.

"Achievement... I see. You need to become an apprentice and equip yourself with beginner tools to successfully get started."

How come I didn't realize this before? Isn't this exactly the same as in the game?

The information panel displays Tong Hua's current profession, level, status bar, and experience bar.

Woodcarver: Level 3

Status: None

Experience points: 50/630

[Professional Skill: Crafting]

"The levels don't start from level 1? Is it because I gained experience from repairing the fence yesterday?"

So, it's likely that other professions have also started gaining experience and leveling up.

"Cooking" should correspond to a chef, so that level is probably quite high. Looks like I'll have to find a way to find more chefs and get all the basic skills covered first."

Having learned more about the secrets of her cheat code, Tong Hua was overjoyed and couldn't wait to go home and try it out.

However, we still need to stay with Acorn for now, since we can't forget the main purpose of this trip. We also need their help to repair the fence and Pokémon house in the ranch.

"Based on my experience in games from my previous life, the level cap should be 100. And this crafting skill is an initial skill that comes with the game."

In Baboon XIV, every production profession shares the same processing system. Specifically, this system is actually the same as the principle behind combat professions fighting monsters; it's all about comparing numerical values.

Players, as crafting professionals, possess two important abilities: crafting power and crafting precision. By using various crafting skills, players can maximize the processing progress and quality of crafting recipes before their stamina bar runs out.

In this way, the production can be successfully completed.

Tong Hua personally leveled up all the production and gathering professions to the maximum level in the game, and has a very thorough understanding of these things.

However, crafting items in this Pokémon world isn't as easy as it seems. Just like in real life, you have to use various skills to make them by hand, a completely different experience from the game where you can simply use a few skills to create something.

Of course, it's also possible that Tong Hua hadn't unlocked a profession before, so she was processing things without any skills.

In short, I must give it a try later.

Tong Hua was still basking in the excitement brought by the cheat system when he suddenly heard Acorn raise his voice: "How was it? Did you remember everything I just said?"

Tong Hua then came to her senses and quickly nodded, "I remember, that's how you shake hands, right?"

Tong Hua instinctively adjusted his grip on the saw. As if by muscle memory, his hand moved on its own without him having to think about it.

"Yes, yes, yes! Mumu, take a good look. Why is it that other people can pick it up so quickly?"

Mumu pouted and muttered unconvinced, "He must have secretly practiced before..."

Acorn gave Mumu a playful tap on the head. "If you're no good, don't blame the road for being uneven."

As they talked, they arrived near the Big Milk Tank Ranch.

Unlike the comprehensive farms like Fairy Tale Farm, this Miltank Farm lives up to its name perfectly; it's a Pokémon farm that only raises Miltank Pokémon.

Although it's called a ranch, it's not actually that big. It's just a three-story wooden house, a barn, and a few Pokémon huts, all enclosed by a fence.

The big milk tanks lived on that grassy area, about the size of a playground.

Mr. Big had been waiting in front of the door for a long time, and seeing Acorn and the other two was like seeing a savior.

"You've finally arrived!"

He seemed about to cry; his thin body resembled a tree trunk about to be broken by the wind.

"My wife went out to deliver milk early this morning and hasn't come back yet!"

"Help me! Two more large milk tanks have escaped from the broken part of the ranch!"

Mr. Big is a well-known man in the village who is terrified of Pokémon; he's even afraid of touching them.

Acorn quickly comforted him, and the group pushed the tool cart around to the damaged area behind the ranch to take a look.

Good heavens! This can no longer be described as damaged; a whole meter of the originally intact wooden fence has vanished out of nowhere!

Judging from the break, it seems to have been smashed by some force from the inside out, and the large section of the fence that disappeared was probably taken away by that force.

"This..." Acorn observed for a moment and gave his conclusion.

"It must have been the big milk tank that smashed it. Just how much resentment could it have harbored to break through the fence like that..."

His eyes were filled with acorns, and his heart ached almost to the point of overflowing. You see, he was the one who contracted the entire ranch fence project! Every single one of them was a masterpiece he had meticulously crafted!

"Anyway, could you please help me find my big milk tank first? If my wife finds out, I'll..."

The man's face was filled with fear, and his voice grew softer and softer until it became as faint as a mosquito's buzz.

"Oh dear! You absolutely have to save me!"

Acorn comforted Mr. Big, then turned and instructed Mumu and Tonghua to search for the escaped Milk Tank nearby, while he stayed to repair the fence first.

"Okay." Tong Hua and Mu Mu exchanged a glance and said in unison.

Three large milk jugs escaped, and the two of them split up to search for them in the village.

Tong Hua, along with the grass turtle and the foam squirrel, searched along the village road, asking everyone they met, and soon found their trail.

It was a mark left by rolling, and a few tufts of pink fur remained on the grass, undoubtedly belonging to Milk Tank.

Following the trail, Tong Hua arrived at a stream near the village. The stream flowed gurglingly, and two large milk jugs were leisurely soaking in the water, looking quite content.

"So this is where it is!" Tong Hua breathed a sigh of relief and was about to approach when she suddenly noticed a familiar figure squatting by the stream.

It's Mumu!

He was furtively throwing something into the water, and the large milk tanks seemed to be attracted to it, slowly swimming towards him.

"Mumu?" Tong Hua called out.

Mumu suddenly turned around, her hand trembled, and the entire bag fell into the stream. The next second, the large milk tanks suddenly let out excited cries and rushed into the water, splashing up huge sprays.

"Oh no!" Mu Mu's face changed drastically. "This is concentrated sweetener powder. Putting too much in at once will..."

Before the words were even finished, one of the large milk tanks suddenly turned red in the eyes and began to spin wildly. Its rapidly spinning body stirred up water, forming a small whirlpool, and the other large milk tank was also pulled into the spin.

Before the two could react, the two large rolling milk jugs had already rushed out of the stream and tumbled off in different directions.

Tong Hua quickly sent the two Pokémon off in different directions, while he went down to the shore and pulled Mumu up.

Mumu scrambled ashore in a disheveled state, her face contorted with despair: "I... I almost succeeded..."

"I'm sorry..." Tong Hua said, looking embarrassed, "I didn't mean to..."

Mumu shook her wet hair and kicked a pebble in frustration. "Forget it, there's no use talking about it now. We need to hurry up and get them back. Otherwise, they might hurt someone!"

The two quickly followed the marks left by the grass turtle and the foam squirrel, and soon they heard a commotion ahead.

The foam squirrel was seen nimbly jumping around a large milk can, trying to soothe it with its charm.

But the big milk can was clearly still in a state of excitement, swishing its tail from time to time and slapping the ground with a loud thud.
